We hope you will experience and contribute to the supportive and encouraging atmosphere that is a hallmark of Sigma events.

Due to the sellout of this event, we have very limited space for guests. If you brought a guest to see your session, please stop at registration for a US $25 guest pass to allow access to one session only.

Baggage Storage Due to fire code regulations, baggage storage is not permitted in the meeting area. Please see your hotel’s concierge for information on baggage storage.

Children are not allowed to participate in any conference activities and must be supervised at all times. Check with your hotel concierge about child care services.

Name Badges A name badge is included in the registration packet and admits the attendee to all conference sessions and events and must be visible to security guards, moderators, and staff. If the badge is misplaced, please visit Sigma’s registration desk for a replacement. There is a replacement fee of US $25. For safety, please write on the back of the badge any emergency contact information, food and medicine allergies, and any significant medical condition(s).

Do not wear the name badge while walking outside. Name badge holders can be recycled after the event in the recycle bins in Sigma’s registration area.

Poster Information

All Sigma events are nonsmoking. The hotel and host city may have additional rules in place. Please speak with the hotel concierge if you have any questions.

Refer to the event schedule for poster viewing times.

Presenters, please refer to the program book for the time, date, and room of your presentation. No further sign-in is necessary for this event.

The Presenter Ready Room is located on the 4th floor in the Bacchus Room, and it provides a place to practice presentations. If you are using slides, you may view your presentations in the Presenter Ready Room. You will find instructions for viewing PowerPoint presentations next to each provided computer station. Please note: Internet access is not available on these computers.

Refer to the event schedule for times the Presenter Ready Room is open.

The only equipment provided on-site for oral presentations is a computer and an LCD projector.

Because of contractual agreements with the audiovisual provider and the possibility of virus transfers, you cannot connect personal equipment (e.g., flash/jump drives, CDs, etc.) to the computers or use it in the presentation rooms.

Additional charges are incurred with each violation and may be passed on to you. Please note that this policy will be strictly enforced.

Oral Presenter Information

VELCRO®, push pins, or double-sided tape should be used to fasten the poster to the board provided. It is suggested that you use both sides of the VELCRO®. You cannot leave the materials used to ship or carry your poster in the poster area. You may store them in the designated area in the ballroom; however, your hotel room is the best place for these items. Neither Sigma nor the New Orleans Marriott is responsible for any materials left in the poster area.

Rapid Discussion Sessions The Rapid Discussion Sessions are a newer initiative to allow poster presenters a venue to orally present their poster work in a concise manner. Presenters are given limited time for their oral presentation with no additional questions from the audience. Presenters should make themselves available at their poster during a session following their scheduled discussion for any questions from attendees.

Registration Information If you have registered for Creating Healthy Work Environments, check in and pick up your event materials at Sigma’s registration desk, located in the Mardi Gras Ballroom Foyer. Refer to the event schedule for registration hours.

Plenary Sessions These presentations will take place on the 3rd floor in the Mardi Gras Ballroom. Attendees can be seated 30 minutes prior to the start of the session. For titles and times, please refer to the program schedule.

General Information Rising Stars of Research and Scholarship Invited Student Posters The Rising Stars of Research and Scholarship Invited Student Posters include students from all levels of nursing education from various schools around the world. Students were nominated based on criteria identified by their school.

Submissions include beginning research, literature reviews, evidence-based practice projects, etc.

Sigma Career Advising Career advising provides nurses and student nurses with an opportunity to discuss issues and receive guidance regarding their career paths from experienced nursing professionals and nursing leaders. You can sign up to meet with a career advisor at the career advising check-in table located outside the Career Center Room on the 4th Floor in

the Iberville Room. Time and space are limited, so sign-up will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Appointments will take place on Friday and Saturday.

Sigma Marketplace The Marketplace is on the 3rd floor in the Mardi Gras Ballroom Foyer. Please stop by to view and purchase Sigma apparel, books, jewelry, and other gifts. Refer to the event schedule for marketplace hours.

During this 45-minute session, we will introduce the skills of mindfulness and discuss how we can utilize them to gain insight into the physical, mental, and emotional states of our bodies.
