ST. THOMAS, ONTARIO

A Truly #stthomasproud Experience It’s hard to believe that we are about to have our 8th Nostalgia Nights car show put on by the St. Thomas Downtown Development Board. If you missed last year’s event, you missed possibly the largest one-night event in our downtown’s history! by Rob Burns A estimated 1,800 to 2,000 special interest vehicles jammed into every available parking space along with thousands of spectators who enjoyed the evening.

This year you can purchase an opportunity to hit a DONATED CAR for Serenity Hospice House! Renamed this year to Business on Track, on the east side of walking path beside our train.

When we started this event it was stressed that it had to be FREE for all to attend. Bring your family for a night’s entertainment and leave with a smile.

Again this year, you will find the band Busker playing in front of Hepburn Park where you can visit the artisan’s displays. Winding your way through the vintage cars lining Talbot St. you can view a display from the library as well. If your favourite restaurant is full, please try one of the food trucks on White St. Across from the City Hall. Songs of the 50’s and 60’s can be heard from another live band and, between sets, our DJ will pick up the pace. At the L&PS station, please enjoy a FREE ride on the PSTR train made possible by local business sponsors who cover the expense.

Local starter businesses can be found demonstrating their services on Mondamin Street, next to the City Hall. Many more local services and groups can be found throughout the event.

Hope to see you Saturday July 9th from 4:00 to 9:00 pm.

Message from DDB by Earl Taylor Chair, Downtown Development Board Summer has arrived in Downtown St. Thomas and we are ready for you to come for a stroll and check out the many unique shops, services and restaurants. We are confident that you will be pleased with your experience. After missing our blossom baskets for the last two years due to COVID, the colourful flowers are now back in place for the summer. You will also notice our 27 flower planters located throughout the Downtown, and for a burst of colour, check

out the three new red planters in front of The Holy Angels Church! To help promote our businesses who struggled but persevered through two years of COVID challenges, we have installed a new set of unique business banners on the lamp poles throughout our Downtown. Thanks to the

City of St. Thomas, we now have a new supply of garbage / recycle bins. But, the biggest event happening this July 9th, is our 8th Nostalgia Nights Car Show and train rides. For more information, please read the Nostalgia Nights article in this issue or visit nostalgianights.ca. We look forward to seeing you Downtown, especially on July 9th.
