DEAR RIDERS, We still hadn’t come down from the high of the 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart in Harrogate when we heard our home town was to become the host town for nine days of prestigious racing over the 2019 UCI Road World Championships. Fast forward to now and the preparations for September are already underway throughout Yorkshire.

With the UCI making regular visits to the region and bringing their partners along too, we’ve been selected as the Official UCI Cycling Tour Guides to help showcase - what we believe - is the best place to ride a bike in the UK. Over the coming months we look forward to guiding you through some of the best cycling roads surrounding Harrogate and in the Yorkshire Dales. We’ll build up the distance with a view to tackling some of the iconic climbs featuring in the upcoming UCI Road World Championships.

THE ROUTE Our route will take us out of Harrogate town centre and into the quiet lanes and picturesque villages North of Harrogate. Our route will be a flat 25 mile/40km. RIDLEY BIKES Ridley will be supplying a fleet of bikes especially for the UCI Exclusive Partner rides.

The bikes will be set up based on the measurements you provided when registering.

You will need to bring your own pedals, shoes and helmet. If you have not already requested a bike via the online entry system you will need to bring your own.

SAFETY

This event is not a race. The function of ride leaders is only to indicate direction and you are responsible for deciding when it is safe to cross traffic, overtake riders and to moderate your speed. You are reminded that the event is run on open public roads with all riders being expected to obey the Highway Code. Not co-operating with items raised in the ride briefing or inconsiderate/illegal riding may have implications on the running of future events. Riders who don’t co-operate will be asked not to continue on the event. The wearing of a hard shell helmet is mandatory

T&Cs You are participating in this event at your own risk. You must rely on your own ability in dealing with all hazards. You must ride in a manner which is safe for yourself and others.

If you do not abide by these terms and conditions you will be removed from the event.

By entering the event you agree that no liability whatsoever shall attach to Struggle Events in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by yourself in or by reason of the event. Event organisers reserve the right to change the route or cancel the event in the event of unforeseen circumstances including severe weather conditions.
