Dear Riders, The world’s best professional cyclists are heading to Harrogate for the biggest bike race of the year; the prestigious UCI Road World Championships. What’s more, they’ll be racing past our Primeast office seven times as they battle it out over the town centre finishing circuit. With an office of both avid and aspiring cyclists, and a client list boasting plenty of fellow riders, what better way to mark this once-in-a-lifetime celebration of cycling than coming together for a ride. The inaugural Leadership Cycle is designed to allow us to connect, exchange ideas and do business by bike. We’re really pleased you can join us for the day. We look forward to riding with you. Pre-ride Join us at the lovely Barrows Bistro for networking over morning coffee and pastries. You’ll be able to meet your ride leaders and fellow riders. We’ll then listen to a safety briefing before getting into our groups and heading off on our ride.
What to bring? - Bike, Shoes & Helmet (compulsory) - Kit: jersey, bib shorts, gilet or rain cape - Energy bar & gel - Spare inner tube, tyre levers and a pump/CO2 canister - Water bottles We’ll have a support car out en route with extra spares, tools, water and nutrition but we recommend everyone brings everything they need to begin the ride.

Our Routes Our route takes us through the quiet country lanes and picturesque Yorkshire villages surrounding Harrogate. We’ll ride through the stunning Studley Royal Deer Park to our cafe stop at Fountains Abbey. The short route will then head back to Barrows Bistro while the long route will head towards Pateley Bridge to tackle the infamous Greenhow Hill. Cafe Stop We’ll enjoy a mid-ride cafe stop at the newly refurbished Fountains Abbey cafe where we’ll refuel on coffee and cake before the ride back to Harrogate.
Post-ride Lunch Join the Primeast team at Barrows Bistro for a post-ride lunch. Stick around for the postride banter and exchange business cards with the people you meet on the ride.

Q&A withScott Thwaites One of Yorkshire’s best professional riders, Scott Thwaites will be joining us for a Q&A and accompanying us on the ride. Scott’s debut season for UCI World Tour Team Dimension Data saw him smash the Spring Classics including a top 10 at Strade Bianche. Following a devastating crash in training Scott has quickly returned to form to race the 2019 season for UK domestic team Vitus Pro Cycling, during which he has been on multiple podiums.

Safety This event is not a race. The function of ride leaders is only to indicate direction and you are responsible for deciding when it is safe to cross traffic, overtake riders and to moderate your speed. You are reminded that the event is run on open public roads with all riders being expected to obey the Highway Code. Not co-operating with items raised in the ride briefing or inconsiderate/illegal riding may have implications on the running of future events. Riders who don’t co-operate will be asked not to continue on the event. The wearing of a hard shell helmet is mandatory.
Emergencies In the event of a medical emergency you call 999. Please save the event organiser’s number in your phone should you need to contact them during the event: 07854661277
T&Cs You are participating in this event at your own risk. You must rely on your own ability in dealing with all hazards. You must ride in a manner which is safe for yourself and others. If you do not abide by these terms and conditions you will be removed from the event. By entering the event you agree that no liability whatsoever shall attach to Struggle Events or Primeast in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by yourself in or by reason of the event. Event organisers reserve the right to change the route or cancel the event in the event of unforeseen circumstances including severe weather conditions.

Sarah Cave Head of Leadership Sarah is mindful in anticipating the changes and challenges that the 21st century is bringing to organisational leadership and is committed to developing new and exciting frameworks and interventions to meet these diverse demands. Commercially astute, Sarah’s experience spans both private and public sector and has helped her develop a truly pragmatic style, with a reputation for achieving outstanding results and improved measurable business performance. David Evans Head of Organisational Consulting David is a hands-on and adaptable consultant and project manager, with extensive experience in business improvement and strategy execution. Simon Tarver Director and Apprenticeship MBA Head Simon has worked in the training and development field now for nearly three decades, with firm roots in experiential learning, through delivering projects for Operation Raleigh and the Princes Trust. With a proven track record in effectively managing and delivering innovative and challenging development initiatives to a range of clients from all sectors of industry, he has a broad range of experience in the design, delivery and management of personal and team development training and assessment programmes.
