Dear Riders With an office of outdoor enthusiasts, Begbies Traynor are excited to invite you for a day of business networking outside the boardroom. Join us to experience the best of the Yorkshire Dales by bike or by boot - with a well-deserved beer or two at the end. In this manual you’ll find all the infomation you need to attend the event. Oh behalf of all the team, we thank you for joining us for a great day out. We look forward to walking or riding with you.

Sign-on DATE: Thursday 27 June 2019 TIME: Registration and networking at 12pm LOCATION: Devonshire Arms, Bolton Abbey, Skipton, BD23 6AJ RIDE or WALK: Groups leaving from 12:45pm PARKING: Ample free parking provided

Pre-Ride/Walk

Join us pre-ride for coffee and networking from 12pm. For all those riding, our expert mechanic will be on hand to assist with any minor mechanicals before you set out on the route. Once all riders and walkers have signed on, we’ll hold a briefing where you’ll meet your ride/walk leaders and set off in groups.

What to Bring

- Bike, shoes & helmet (compulsory)

- Walking boots

- Jersey & bib shorts or tights

- Suitable clothing

- Jacket, gilet or rain cape

- Rain coat

- Spare inner tube

- Ruck sack

- Tyre levers & pump/CO2 canister

- Water bottle

- Water bottles

- Change of clothes for post-walk

- We also recommend a rear light - Change of clothes for post-ride

Routes

RIDE

Our ride takes us on a 50 mile loop into the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. During which, we’ll tackle the challenging climb over Malham Cove before dropping down the valley and back to the Devonshire Arms for a well-earned pint. View and download the ride here >>

WALK Our walk will take us across country to the stunning vista over Eastby Brow before dropping down to the Strid for a cafe stop. We’ll then meander back along the river through the Bolton Abbey estate. View and download the walk here >>

RIDE/WALK LEADERS

Both the ride and walk will be chaperoned by expert guides so you can relax and enjoy the views of the Yorkshire Dales.

Support Car

Our support car will be on the route with the riders including an expert mechanic should you need any assistance. The car will be fully stocked with water and extra sports nutrition so you can refuel while out on the road.

Dinner

The riders and walkers will come together to refuel with private dining back at the Devonshire Arms. We’ll enjoy a hearty steak pie and chips accompanied by a well-deserved pint or two.

Safety

This event is not a race. The function of ride leaders is only to indicate direction and you are responsible for deciding when it is safe to cross traffic, overtake riders and to moderate your speed. You are reminded that the event is run on open public roads with all riders being expected to obey the Highway Code. Not co-operating with items raised in the ride briefing or inconsiderate/illegal riding may have implications on the running of future events. Riders who don’t co-operate will be asked not to continue on the event. The wearing of a hard shell helmet is mandatory. In the event of a medical emergency you call 999. T&Cs You are participating in this event at your own risk. You must rely on your own ability in dealing with all hazards. You must ride in a manner which is safe for yourself and others. If you do not abide by these terms and conditions you will be removed from the event. By entering the event you agree that no liability whatsoever shall attach to Struggle Events in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by yourself in or by reason of the event. Event organisers reserve the right to change the route or cancel the event in the event of unforeseen circumstances including severe weather conditions.
