Evaluations involve a variety of non-destructive and exploratory testing methods to determine the state of components and the surrounding concrete. Through STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES' partnership with SIMCO Technologies, SIMCO's STADIUM® service life modeling, can provide estimated remaining service life based on deterioration levels and exposure conditions.
A challenge faced by owners, engineers and contractors of water and wastewater infrastructure is combating concrete deterioration. Through STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES' investment and partnership with SIMCO, our team offers industry leading service life prediction services to engineers and their clients. Service Life Modeling / Design for Existing Structures - Optimizes Intervention and Repair Solutions By incorporating SIMCO’s durability modeling into the investigation phase of a project, engineers can better understand the remaining service life of the structure without interventions and optimize repair solutions. With the STADIUM® modeling software we can predict: residual service life or time to failure without corrective measures and predictive service life extension for repair strategies.
SIMCO's STADIUM® Prediction Tool The U.S. Department of Defense recognizes STADIUM® as an accurate solution for the prediction of long-term behavior of reinforced concrete structures exposed to a wide range of aggressive environments. Unlike other models, STADIUM® considers a wide range of physical and chemical factors that influence long-term performance and overall service-life.
StrongPIPE® Renewal Systems Minimize Service & Operational Disruptions
STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES provides turnkey delivery of its StrongPIPE® Product Line – a comprehensive suite of strengthening and protection systems for medium to large diameter water and wastewater pipelines. This includes systems for pipelines broadly ranging from 30-inches in diameter and above (and 2-inches and above for external applications). The StrongPIPE® product family includes solutions focused on the trenchless repair and renewal of all types of pipelines, including concrete, metallic and polymer-based. These cost-effective solutions can be implemented under limited time frames for emergency applications on identified distressed segments, or as part of a proactive renewal program for extended runs of critical pipeline segments. Repair options include state-of-the-art materials that offer high performance technology and advanced application and quality control methodology. Performance of our StrongPIPE® systems can range from semi-structural to stand-alone (AWWA Class IV), with no reliance on the host pipe. Design and technical support is provided by STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES. StrongPIPE® solutions include carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) systems, steel and polymer composite systems. For trenchless applications, we offer externally applied high performance post-tensioned strengthening repair systems. And for strengthening applications which require the pipeline to be kept in-service, we provide externally applied CFRP and external post-tensioning repair systems.

StrongPIPE® V-Wrap™ FRP StrongPIPE® V-Wrap™ Carbon Fiber is an AWWA Class IV structural strengthening system for the restoration and renewal of pipe diameters 30 inches and larger. Highstrength carbon fibers saturated in a two-part 100% solids epoxy matrix are bonded to the interior or exterior of pipelines forming a composite lining with the host pipe.
StrongPIPE® SCL StrongPIPE® SCL (Steel Composite Liner) is a trenchless solution for AWWA Class IV renewal of pipelines 42 inches in diameter and larger. The systems consist of a base layer of V-Wrap FRP with steel wire embedded in polymer materials or in concrete materials, with a top layer of V-Wrap FRP.
StrongPIPE® PALTEM® The PALTEM® Flow-Ring System is a long-term renewal system which is installed for spot repair or extended runs of pipelines in diameters of 36-inches or greater. The system is a specialized reinforced composite lining for gravity, sewer, and storm water pipes and is an effective solution for culvert upgrades.
StrongPIPE® XPT™ StrongPIPE® XPT™ (External Post-Tensioning) is an effective, engineered solution for cases where PCCP segments in need of repair or upgrade cannot be shutdown. The system utilizes externally placed post-tensioned tendons around the exterior circumference of an existing pipe that are then stressed at the anchorage utilizing hydraulic jacks.

ElectroTechCP™ MCP Systems
ElectroTechCP™ ICCP Systems
ElectroTechCP™ EZ-Anode Systems are customizable galvanic cathodic protection solutions consisting of zinc mesh and a patented conductive mortar. The system is highly flexible as it is custom built and installed in the field for the long-term protection of reinforced concrete. Along with the base system, versions for different applications include: ElectroTechCP™ EZColumn System for concrete columns suffering from corrosioninduced damage and ElectroTechCP™ EZ-Joint System for concrete surrounding expansion/construction joints.
ElectroTechCP™ Metalized Cathodic Protection (MCP) systems deliver uniform corrosion protection to embedded reinforcing steel in concrete. Like other galvanic systems, the MCP system does not require external power. This spray applied anode (often referred to as metallizing) can be coated for aesthetic purposes or can be reapplied for extended service life. The MCP System protects embedded steel in concrete members as well as exposed steel members of structural steel.
ElectroTechCP™ Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) systems involve installing anodes and ribbons throughout a structure and passing a Direct Current (DC) through them to prevent corrosion. The system is driven and controlled by proprietary power and monitoring devices that deliver and monitor precise levels of protective current to embedded steel within concrete structures. Variable power supplies and sophisticated controllers allow for different levels of protection that can be continually adjusted within the structure. The controllers allow for remote monitoring and will alert operators of changing conditions.

External Post-Tensioning Systems
These state-of-the-art composite systems utilize lightweight, durable, high-strength carbon and glass fibers bonded with adhesive resins. Applications with limited access and/or structures with complex geometries benefit from this versatile, low impact and environmentally compliant system.
These systems provide additional reinforced concrete that is fully bonded to existing structural members. Our systems combine specific surface preparation, specialized materials, and pressurized formwork to produce monolithic concrete enlargements to increase or restore the load-carrying capacity, ductility and seismic resistance to a variety of concrete structures.
These strengthening systems consist of tendons installed externally to the structural element and may be placed in grouted ducts to improve durability and/or fire resistance. STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES provides comprehensive design support to develop system detailing, anchorage requirements and reinforcement.

STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES’ Polyshield® is the preferred pump foundation solution that takes advantage of the unique properties of polymer concrete. As a chemical-resistant foundation system that is easily put into place, then filled with standard concrete, the Polyshield® system can be completely installed and operable in less than two days. The polymer concrete baseplate and foundation system is the superior solution for cost-effective, high-performance pump installations. This single, complete unit replaces the traditional baseplate and concrete foundation for pump-driver sets. Once installed, the Polyshield® system provides excellent corrosion resistance over the long term, as well as vibration damping and resistance to twisting and diaphragming.

Rehabilitation of Above & Below Grade Reservoirs Our team provided inspection assistance, developed an isolation and dewatering plan for the project. Crews performed concrete repairs, expansion joint repairs, masonry wall repointing, access hatch construction, roofing system installation and tank painting.
Chemical Room & Tank Farm Upgrades Our team installed a retaining curb and sloped grout on slab, and installed PCCP at utility trench locations and a four-inch sidewalk with WWF, curb and gutter. Crews also repaired concrete, injected cracks and coated three secondary containments.
Above/Below Ground Plant & Transmission Piping Renewal Crews assisted in providing an inspection and condition assessment for a degraded pipe. The team provided a repair design approach, assisted with material selection and installed an FRP solution to renew and upgrade a difficult-to-access pipeline.
