STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES provides turnkey delivery of its StrongPIPE® Product Line – a comprehensive suite of strengthening and protection systems for medium to large diameter water and wastewater pipelines. This includes systems for pipelines broadly ranging from 30-inches in diameter and above.

The StrongPIPE® product family includes solutions focused on the trenchless repair and renewal of all types of pipelines, including concrete, metallic and polymer-based. These cost effective solutions can be implemented under limited time frames for emergency applications on identified distressed segments, or as part of a proactive renewal program for extended runs of critical pipeline segments.

Repair options include state-of-the-art materials that offer high performance technology and advanced application and quality control methodology. Performance of our StrongPIPE® systems can range from semi-structural to stand-alone (AWWA Class IV), with no reliance on the host pipe. Design and technical support is provided by STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES. StrongPIPE® solutions include carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) systems, steel and polymer composite systems. For semitrenchless strengthening applications, we offer externally applied high performance post-tensioned strengthening repair systems. And for strengthening applications which require the pipeline to be kept in-service, we provide externally applied CFRP and external post-tensioning repair systems.

StrongPIPE® V-Wrap™

StrongPIPE® V-Wrap™ Carbon Fiber is an AWWA Class IV structural strengthening system for the restoration and renewal of pressure pipe. The system has been tested and meets or exceeds durability requirements (ICC-ES) necessary to provide the desired service life for pipeline structures.

V-Wrap™ Carbon Fiber (CFRP) systems are comprised of high-strength carbon fibers fully saturated in a twopart 100% solids epoxy matrix. These thin, low-profile laminates are bonded to the interior or exterior of pipelines forming a composite lining with the existing host pipe structure.

Applied both longitudinally and circumferentially, the V-Wrap™ system is layered to meet specific design requirements. Working with STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES, owners and consultants receive comprehensive design and technical support from project start to implementation in the field.

StrongPIPE® SCL

StrongPIPE® SCL (Steel Composite Liner) is a patented trenchless solution for AWWA Class IV renewal of large diameter pipelines.

Developed to provide an economical close-fit lining option for extended runs of large diameter pipe, this unique composite system is made up of layers of reinforcing steel wire and fiberreinforced polymer to provide fully structural repairs and upgrades to pipe segments.

The StrongPIPE® system is applicable to all types of pipelines and is installed internally starting at pipe diameters of 48-inches and larger.

StrongPIPE® SCL is a proprietary solution which combines the benefits of steel reinforcement with FRP to create a high value trenchless repair system for large diameter pipe. Custom designed for each application, StrongPIPE® SCL combines layers of reinforcing steel and FRP to create a fully structural strengthening system for restoration of damaged/weakened large diameter pressure pipe. StrongPIPE® SCL utilizes a continuously wound steel reinforcement that forms a composite liner inside the existing pipe.

Product System Options: With two system options available, StrongPIPE® SCL is customized to meet project needs, as determined by operating parameters, hydraulic performance, and construction requirements.

• StrongPIPE® SCL – Polymer consists of a base layer of V-Wrap FRP with steel wire embedded in polymer materials finished with a top layer of V-Wrap FRP. The polymer build minimizes overall system thickness and impact on hydraulics performance.

• StrongPIPE® SCL – Concrete consists of a base layer of V-Wrap FRP with steel wire embedded in concrete materials finished with a top layer of V-Wrap FRP. The concrete build minimizes the overall cost of the system for pipelines with more hydraulic flexibility.

StrongPIPE® PALTEM® Flow-Ring System

StrongPIPE® PALTEM® Flow-Ring System* is a rehabilitation system which is installed in medium to large diameter pipelines. This specialized pipeline repair system delivers a semi or fully-structural long-term upgrade to pipelines of all shapes and a wide range of sizes, and performs exceptionally well in aggressive wastewater applications.

The PALTEM® Flow-Ring System is a long-term renewal system which is installed for spot repair or extended runs of pipelines in diameters of 36-inches or greater. The Flow-Ring System can be designed with some contribution from the host pipe, as a composite design, or with no reliance on the host pipe, as a fully structural repair.

StrongPIPE® PALTEM® Flow-Ring is a specialized reinforced composite lining for gravity, sewer, and storm water pipes and is an effective solution for culvert upgrades. The system design, provided by STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES, is based on the pipe diameter and operating conditions of the pipelines.

StrongPIPE® XPT™ External Post-Tensioning

StrongPIPE® XPT™ (External Post-Tensioning) is an effective, engineered solution for cases where pipeline segments in need of repair or upgrade cannot be shutdown.

StrongPIPE® XPT Features: • Custom designed to address all internal pressure • Increases hoop strength • Corrosion resistant encapsulated strand and anchorage improves durability and provides long operational life

The XPT™ External Post-Tensioning System utilizes externally placed post-tensioned tendons around the exterior circumference of an existing pipe. An XPT™ tendon consists of high-strength steel strand, coated and sheathed in extruded plastic for corrosion protection, and an anchorage assembly. The strand is looped around the host pipe and stressed at the anchorage utilizing hydraulic jacks. All of STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES’ XPT™ Systems feature VSL hardware components.
