This was an MCI incident involving a large passenger bus and a "Duck" tour bus. The incident involved approximately 85 patients with varying degrees of injuries. The incident was well managed with the appropriate levels of Incident Command structure; Deputy 1 assumed command on arrival, B6 was assigned Operations, B4 was assigned Rescue Group, M44 was assigned Medical Group, there was established transportation corridors to both the south and to the north. The Incident Commander requested additional resources in a timely manner to ensure there were appropriate on-scene resources and support. Although members where wearing appropriate levels of PPE for most activities there were times when I observed members conducting transient activities such as both patient care outside the hazard area and assisting with extricating within the hazard zone whereby members didn't use the appropriate PPE as this type of transition of activity was followed. Additionally, a charged, staffed hose line was in place during all phases of the extraction and patient treatment. There were no other reportable safety issues or concerns.
