An eternal tribute

When a loved one dies we may find ourselves completely overwhelmed with the many decisions we have to make. Within this booklet, we hope you find both immediate and lasting ways to remember your loved one. After losing a relative or friend, our thoughts often turn to how best to respect their wishes. Many people request donations in place of, or as well as, flowers at their funeral.

We can provide discreet collection envelopes, with a short declaration for donors to complete allowing the hospice to claim Gift Aid on their donations. Gift Aid means we can claim an extra 25% on eligible donations - at no extra cost to the donor. St Richard’s can also provide an attractive collection tube, as pictured below, for donations free-of-charge if you would like one.

By giving in memory of their loved one, friends and family are helping provide dignity, care and compassion to patients and family members at St Richard’s Hospice.

Funeral collection donations If you decide to hold a collection in aid of the hospice at a funeral or celebration of life, please contact the Fundraising Team for support.

Create a Forget-me-Not tribute page An online Muchloved tribute fund is easy to set up and allows you to remember and share precious memories of your loved one, whilst helping St Richard’s raise money to support free, specialist care. The tribute page can be used in a number of ways: • To tell family and friends about the funeral, including the location and times. The online page can be shared via social media or email. It also allows you to nominate

own personal message to be engraved on a leaf. This may be to remember or celebrate someone special or perhaps in recognition of a company or staff member. Each leaf will remain in place on the tree for one year starting from July or December. After 12 months you can choose to renew your donation and keep the leaf on the tree or the hospice can send it back to you to keep and treasure forever. Each year Donor Tree supporters will be invited to a reception at the hospice.

St Richard’s Hospice as the chosen charity for any donations and people can donate online wherever they are in the world. • As an everlasting tribute you can add pictures, videos, music and stories to reflect on the life of a person special to you. The page can be public or private and can be shared with whoever you wish. You can use the page to make donations or for any future fundraising such as events or challenges you may undertake to raise money for the hospice in memory of your loved one over time.

Donor Tree The Donor Tree provides recognition of those who mean something special to you and also essential income for the hospice to fund our care in years to come. The tree has 456 elegant bronze, silver and gold effect leaves and takes pride of place in the hospice reception for all to see.
