Community Volunteers Could you do with a helping hand? We understand that when you have a life threatening illness it is difficult to deal with the everyday tasks that still need to be done. St Richard’s Hospice Community Volunteers offer practical help at home for patients and carers who are supported by the hospice.

The volunteers are supervised and trained to offer a range of support to complement the care provided by hospice staff.
What does ‘practical support’ include? Offering companionship at home Accompanying you to an appointment Assisting you with shopping Light housework or light gardening Walking the dog Spending time with you so that your carer or family member can have a break
