SinceJanuary2017wehaveassistedover6000people, manyofwhom wouldhaveendedupinA&Ehadwenotbeenoperational.Thisequates toarounda£5.1millionsavingintermsofcosts,resourcesandstaffing forPolice,AmbulanceandNHSstaffwhoarethenabletodealwithreal publicsafetyissuesandmedicalemergencies.
Ourdeliveryisprovidedbyentirelybyvolunteersandweworkin partnershipwiththeCityofEdinburghCouncilCommunitySafety Partnership,PoliceScotland,NHSLothian,andmanyotheroperators withintheEdinburghNight-TimeEconomy.

Ourvolunteersworkduringthenighttimeeconomyhoursto preventvulnerabilitybeforeitoccursthroughproactivewelfare checksaroundtheEdinburghCityCentre.Theyalsoreducethe pressureonEmergencyservicesbyprovidingFirstAidandsupport whichwouldotherwiseresultinpoliceorambulanceassistance beingrequired.Eachpersonwehelpequatestoasavingforthe publicpurseofaround£850.
Sinceourinception,asaresultofthetraining,developmentand experienceweprovideourvolunteers,we’vesupported120people toattenduniversityorstartacareerinafrontlineservicesuchas thePolice,AmbulanceServiceandArmedForces.
ThroughsupportingStreetAssistEdinburgh,you’renotonly supportingasafernighttimeeconomyacrossEdinburghbutalso thedevelopmentofourfuturefirstresponders.
