The Festival runs nightly from December 1-23 aboard the Spirit of Seattle, the official Christmas Ship, decorated with thousands of lights and other holiday decorations. The ship leads decorated Argosy parade boats and private vessels which form the largest holiday flotilla in the world. Each year, community sponsors support The Christmas Ship Festival and a portion of all ticket sales benefits The Seattle Times Fund for the Needy, which raises money for local non-profit agencies that provide vital services to children, families and seniors in our local community. This year marks the 31st year the Fund for the Needy has provided a way for caring people to help those in need. Since 1996, Argosy Cruises has raised more than $320,000 for the Fund for the Needy. “We are proud to partner with The Seattle Times and help raise money for the Fund for the Needy,” says Maureen Black, director of marketing. “It’s a way Argosy can give back to the community.” The Argosy Cruises Christmas Ship Festival is run in cooperation with the Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation.
