My Bloody Valentine still has plenty of mojo
by Rod Parke SGN A&E Writer Mozart Dances Mark Morris Dance Group with Seattle Symphony May 1 Paramount Theatre I can just hear Mark Morris saying something like this to his dancers. Yes, it’s dance, but it is dance whose subject is the music. With Mark Morris, it’s about the music, not about dance moves, all of which are his physical expression of what the music says to him. Because the music is paramount (pun intended!), his company always dances to live musicians in the pit. And not just any musicians! At a MMDG performance, you can always count on absolutely first-rate music, both the choice of works and the players. This time it was the Seattle Symphony, with pianists Garrick Ohlsson and Yoko Nozaki. The music was three complete works by Mozart, and thus the name, Mozart Dances, for this concert. First came Mozart’s ‘Piano Concerto No. 11 in F major, K.413’ with Garrick Ohlsson at the 7-foot Steinway (not visible

The subject matter of the play is the now (in) famous interviews between former President Richard Nixon and British talk show personality David Frost.
