Eagle’s Crag - sleeps up to 8 Alladale also offers two smaller lodges: Eagle’s Crag and Ghillie’s Rest. Located just a mile or two from the main lodge, these are ideal for couples, honeymooners, individual families or smaller groups of friends wishing to visit Alladale.

Ghillie’s Rest - sleeps up to 4 Like Eagle’s Crag, Ghillie’s Rest brings to mind a luxurious stone cabin, blending peaceful seclusion with high-quality interiors, including underfloor heating. Both smaller lodges enjoy unimpeded views of Glen Alladale, with the river running just below.

Directions Alladale is located just over an hour’s scenic drive from Inverness, the gateway to the Highlands. Regular flights operate to Inverness from Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Gatwick, Luton and Manchester. ere is also a sleeper-train service to Inverness from London Euston. We will gladly arrange your transfer to the lodge from either the airport or train station.

From Inverness, take the A9 north. Before the town of Alness, turn left onto the B9176 towards Ardgay and Bonar Bridge.

Continuing from Ardgay, follow the road to the left of the Alladale Country Store & Café for a further 9 miles and turn left at the phone box. After 1½ miles the hard road will end and Alladale Lodge is a further 2 miles ahead on the unpaved track.

FISHING Alladale provides for outstanding fly-fishing amid beautiful surroundings. Pit your wits against wild brown trout on our two rivers and hill lochs.

Alladale incorporates the upper reaches of two rivers – the Carron and its tributary the Alladale – as well as a dozen hill lochs. The rivers and lochs offer world-class wild brown trout fishing, while the lochs also offer challenging fishing for Arctic char, a speciality of the Scottish Highlands. Hire a ghillie to benefit from local knowledge, discover the best beats, or gain expert tuition for beginners. The fishing season for brown trout and Arctic char runs from 15 March to 6 October. The prime Atlantic salmon fishing on the Carron, downstream of the reserve, is available by prior arrangement with our neighbouring lodges.

For a really special experience, Alladale can also arrange heli-fishing on the reserve, enabling guests to access the more remote hill lochs that are otherwise difficult to reach and therefore rarely fished.

stalking Alladale Wilderness Reserve offers first-class stalking across five glens, expertly guided by our resident rangers. Stags are brought off the hill using Garron ponies, in the traditional way.

The absence of natural predators in the Highlands has led to an overpopulation of red deer. Their intensive browsing inhibits the regeneration of woodland, which has negative consequences for the entire ecosystem.

Selective culling allows us to keep deer numbers at Alladale to a manageable level and assists us in our long-term goal of restoring the balance of nature. We also have a rifle target shooting range, with expert tuition available for beginners. The stalking season runs from 1st July to 15th February. Please contact reservations for rates.

Alladale also boasts one of the finest clay shooting set-ups in the Highlands, with a series of automated traps to simulate different kinds of bird shooting, and expert instruction on hand.

Alladale Lodge – Not available on a self catering basis. Manager, Chef, Housekeeping and Front of House Staff included. Lunch and Dinner to be taken daily, Lunches start from £12pp and Dinners start from £18pp.

Balance due 60 days prior to arrival, at which point the total cost of the accommodation becomes non refundable unless all accommodation is re-let. In all cases of cancellation a £25 handing charge is applied.

Eagles Crag & Ghillies Rest – Fully stocked larder for you to prepare your own breakfast.

Packed lunches, Stalker’s Supper can be booked in advance. Alternatively if you prefer self catering, for an additional fee we can do your grocery shopping for you so everything is in your lodge for arrival.

Dogs are allowed in the Lodges but must never be left unattended; bedding must be requested if required.

To confirm your reservation, a non refundable deposit of 25% is required.

Day guests are not permitted.

All deer shot are property of the estate.

Antlers can be retained, at the discretion of the rangers.

Charge is per rifle, this means that one gun will be taking out on the stalk.

Rangers will allow 2 people to share this gun maximum. A third person can come for the walk but cannot share gun. Maximum that will be taken out is 3 people. If all 3 people want to shoot a second gun must be paid for.

If guests take their own guns, they are charged per gun that goes on the stalk.

Guests do not need a permit / gun license as they are accompanied by a fully qualified ranger. Animals are wild, therefore there are no guarantees for shots, however stalkers will ensure guests have as much opportunity as possible.

The stalk and culling of deer is carried out with the highest standard of welfare.

Rates also include skill tests on the rifle range with guidelines and tips from rangers.

Guests are welcome to use lodge binoculars.

Red deer hunting only, no other game to be shot.

Antlers are sold to guests, this is at the rangers discretion.
