Message from the Head of School Richard Kassissieh At Stratford Hall, we take seriously our responsibility to be thoughtful and transparent stewards of the resources entrusted to us. Families’ tuition revenue represents both a significant investment and a vote of confidence in our school, and we are deeply grateful for the trust that you place in us each year. Alongside tuition, government grants are an important and stable source of revenue that supports our ability to deliver our mission, vision, and values. Together, these core sources fund the essential work of the school: our people, programs, and the day-to-day operations that make high-quality teaching and learning possible. Our financial approach is guided by fiscal discipline, ensuring that resources are directed first and foremost to student learning, wellbeing, and the professional excellence of our staff. Philanthropic support plays a distinct and equally important role. Through fundraising, we are able to enhance student experiences, invest in innovation, and continue to develop our campus in ways that would not be possible through operating revenue alone. These contributions help us move from sustaining the school to strengthening it for the future. This annual report offers a snapshot of how these resources came together over the past year. It reflects the strength of our current financial position as well as the power of a community working with shared purpose. Thank you to our parents, donors, and partners for your trust and engagement. Together, we can accomplish remarkable things.

Message from the Board Chair Shaneeda Jaffer I’m pleased to share with you Stratford Hall’s Annual Report for 20242025. The Annual Report reflects the collaborative work of the Stratford Hall Board of Governors and the school’s leadership team, as well as our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability. When it comes to the school’s finances, the Board works together with the Head of School and Director of Finance and Operations in an oversight role. The Board’s work is led by our Treasurer, Ian Lau, and is undertaken by the Board’s Audit and Finance committee which is made up of members of the Stratford Hall community who bring extensive expertise in accounting, finance, auditing, and management. Each year, the Board approves the school’s annual budget, accepts the audited financial statements, and sets tuition fees for the following year. Decisions about tuition increases are made with careful consideration, taking into account inflation, the need to offer competitive compensation to our teachers, and the high cost of living in Metro Vancouver. We recognize the sacrifices many families make to send their children to Stratford Hall, and we remain committed to ensuring that every family can continue their child’s education here. Our financial aid program, available to all current families, reflects this commitment. Please contact the school if you would like more information about this program. The Board is grateful for your trust and support, and we are confident that a Stratford Hall education continues to offer excellent value. We hope that many of you will join us in January for our Community Forum: Our School Today and Looking Ahead (formerly Let’s Talk Business) to learn more and ask any questions you may have.

Class of 2025 The Class of 2025 achieved a 100% post-secondary acceptance rate, with all 41 graduates receiving at least one offer of admission to a post-secondary institution of their choice. This outcome comes during one of the most competitive application cycles in recent years. At the University of British Columbia alone, nearly 50,000 students applied for first-year admission, significantly increasing competition across Canadian and international institutions. This trend resulted in higher numbers of waitlists and denials nationwide. Despite these challenges, Stratford Hall graduates demonstrated resilience, preparation, and determination, reflecting both their academic excellence and the strength of the support and guidance they received. We are immensely proud of our Sabres. The majority of the Class of 2025 chose to pursue their studies in Canada, with more than half of the graduating class remaining in British Columbia. The University of British Columbia was the most popular destination, with 14 students enrolling. Other British Columbia institutions included Simon Fraser University, the University of Victoria, Capilano University, and Corpus Christi College (through UBC transfer pathways). Outside of British Columbia, Queen’s University and the University of Toronto were the next most popular destinations, with four graduates enrolling at each institution. Students pursuing international options enrolled in universities in the United States, including New York University, the University of San Diego, and Emory University. Graduates selected a wide range of academic pathways, including Life and Health Sciences, Business, Media and Communications, and Engineering. As they embark on the next chapter of their journeys, the Class of 2025 carries forward the knowledge, skills, and values that will help them thrive in their chosen paths and make a meaningful impact in the world.

Financial and Fundraising Model Not-for-Profit Stratford Hall, under the name Stratford Hall (School) Society, operates under the Societies Act and is a registered Canadian charity.
Tuition Tuition fees cover the school’s operational fees, including teacher salaries, learning resources, activities (field trips, co-curriculars), textbooks and Graduation Fee (Grade 12 only), and facility maintenance.
Stratford Hall Foundation The Stratford Hall Foundation is a separate registered Canadian charity that manages all capital assets and administers fundraising in support of new facilities.
The Annual Fund The Stratford Hall Annual Fund is an investment in the future of Stratford Hall. The Annual Fund empowers our teachers with the tools and extra resources needed to prepare your child to be an effective contributor to society and tomorrow’s leaders. As the school progresses to offer added opportunities for students, we must count on the Annual Fund to keep tuition affordable while maintaining a high-quality educational program.
6
Educational Investment Deposit (EID) Gifts Up until 2023, all Stratford Hall families were required to place an Educational Investment Deposit (EID) with the school. Families are encouraged to donate all, or a portion of, their deposit to the school in advance of their last child’s departure. Families who donate their entire EID will be granted membership into the Stratford Hall Leaders’ Circle.
Endowment Endowments will ensure that students will continue to benefit from your support in perpetuity. The principal amount of your donation will be invested. Once the investment has grown significantly, generated income will then support Stratford Hall programs, student scholarships, and bold programmatic initiatives. Endowed gifts may also lead to recognition opportunities that honour or memorialize a person of the donor’s choosing.
School Gala The School Gala is a formal dinner and dance which includes a Fund-a-Need ask. In 2024-2025, net proceeds from the event supported our school’s Financial Aid program.

Message from the Director of Development Cindy Graves A Fresh Perspective Since joining Stratford Hall at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, I have experienced a warm welcome and been immediately impressed by the school’s strong sense of community. Four months later, I continue to be inspired by the remarkable level of support, dedication, and care I witness every day from the parents, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, committee members, and the Board. I feel that I have not only joined Stratford Hall, but have truly become part of a family. Like any family, we may at times be exuberant with many different perspectives, but our diversity and spirit of innovation over the past 25 years have strengthened our bonds, reinforced our shared commitment, and kept us firmly mission-centered in delivering an exceptional experience for our students. In 2024-2025, the deep commitment of the community was exemplified in the generosity of our donors in support of Stratford Hall’s fundraising initiatives. Through the Annual Fund, the 2024 Gala, and the launch of our Campus Transformation Campaign, the school raised an unprecedented total of $2,126,281. Contributions to the Annual Fund and Gala supported program enhancements, small capital needs, tools and training, financial aid, and scholarships. We are very grateful to those who stepped forward to help kickstart the Campus Transformation Campaign with leadership gifts. This exciting project will deliver a campus with a 50% larger Senior School, bringing Grades 6 – 12 together under one roof for the first time, create a new Junior School, strengthen connections and community, and ensure our students are well prepared to reach their full potential.
10
We remain deeply indebted to those on whose shoulders we stand, whose hard work and devotion laid the foundation that allows us to move forward with confidence and embrace change as we enter our next stage of growth. As we begin a new era with new team members helping to guide us, I am encouraged by the message from our recent 25th Anniversary event, All Aboard!: to honour the past, celebrate the present, and empower the future. As we look ahead to the next 25 years, Stratford Hall will continue to nurture healthy minds, strong hearts, and bold futures. I look forward to building relationships, deepening our culture of philanthropy, and collaborating with every member of the Stratford Hall family. From my fresh perspective, the outlook is vast, the opportunities limitless, and the horizon filled with promise for a thriving and dynamic community.

Gifts from Our Community The generosity of our community through the Annual Fund is the catalyst that directly fuels the enhancements to our campus facilities and the enrichment of the programs that define a Stratford Hall education. This fund is vital for equipping our educators with the innovative tools and resources necessary to develop today’s learners into tomorrow’s leaders. Furthermore, to ensure we can keep pace with new opportunities and maintain an affordable tuition structure, the Annual Fund remains essential to our ongoing success. Thank you for believing in Stratford Hall and for supporting us every step of the way. We extend our deepest gratitude to all our donors for your commitment and generosity to the 2024–2025 Annual Fund.

Gifts from Educational Investment Deposits (EID) To date, more than 100 Stratford Hall families have donated their EIDs, helping to reduce the school’s debt load and supporting the Campus Transformation Campaign. Donating your EID not only supports the school’s financial position, but also generates a tax benefit. This benefit, if invested well over the 13 years your child attends the school, can earn enough funds to mitigate much of your gift. For details on EID donations, please feel free to contact Cindy Graves, Director of Development.
