SUSTAINABILITY FROM CONSTRUCTION WASTE TO SEDIMENT CONTROL At Stratex our commitment to environmental stewardship drives us to continually explore innovative ways to develop products that prevent pollution and reduce our ecological footprint. We’re dedicated to empowering our clients by supplying KLJK TXDOLW\ DQG HΊHFWLYH SROOXWLRQ FRQWURO solutions.

One example of this is with our recycled silt socks, which unlike most silt socks on the market, are made from 100% recycled PDWHULDOV $ VLOW VRFN LV D VLPSOH \HW HΊHFWLYH form of sediment and erosion control, FRQVLVWLQJ RI D IDEULF PHVK VOHHYH ΋OOHG with gravel. These are placed around drains to prevent silt and sediment from leaving worksites during heavy rain. To make our recycled silt socks we work with our civil construction partners to repurpose the temporary fence banner mesh from construction sites to make silt sock sleeves. Next instead of using gravel, we use reclaimed DJJUHJDWH DV WKH ΋OOLQJ PDWHULDO 7KLV SURGXFHV less dust than alternatives such as scoria and GLVUXSWV WKH ODQG΋OO ZDVWH VWUHDP

UTILISING SOCIAL ENTERPRISE In addition, our recycled silt socks are produced in collaboration with a local social enterprise, Assembled Threads. This partnership not only ensures high quality products but also provides meaningful employment opportunities for individuals from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds. It’s an initiative which underscores our dedication to social responsibility and being good corporate citizens. Our recycled silt sock is a great example of our commitment to superior environmental practices which extend beyond prevention through actively repurposing waste.

What are Hazardous Goods Storage Requirements? The requirements for hazardous chemical storage are outlined in the Australian Standards. Whilst these standards are not law, they are recognised as an important part of a compliant solution. Each state government has their own Dangerous Goods Acts containing broad legal principles. In addition to these acts, the government has developed regulations and codes of practice to show businesses how to meet the requirements of the law. To complement the broad acts set out above, Standards Australia have developed a series of standards to outline VSHFL΋F GHVLJQ UHTXLUHPHQWV IRU KD]DUGRXV JRRGV VWRUDJH Hazardous goods should be stored in Australian Standard compliant cabinets with adequate ventilation, spill containment capacity, dangerous goods signage and be constructed from appropriate materials. They will reduce ULVN DQG LPSURYH H΍FLHQFLHV LQ WKH KDQGOLQJ RI GDQJHURXV goods.
