Erosion & Sediment Control 100% Recycled Silt Sock The Stratex Recycled Silt Sock is Australia’s first 100% recycled silt sock. It’s made using temporary banner mesh and reclaimed aggregate from our civil construction partners, disrupting the landfill waste stream.

Made with Recycled Materials

Silt socks provide a simple yet effective sediment and erosion control method. They can be placed in and around worksite stormwater drains and gutters. Their purpose is to protect waterways from contaminated runoff by retaining silt and sediment during heavy rain.

In addition to using recycled materials in its construction, Stratex Recycled Silt Socks are produced in collaboration with a local social enterprise, Assembled Threads. This partnership ensures a high quality of product is achieved, whilst helping to provide meaningful employment opportunities for individuals from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

Coir Logs Coir logs are made from densely packed coconut fibre which is wrapped with coir netting. These logs allow water to pass through while sediment and silt are retained. The substantial size, weight and rigidity of coir logs makes them suitable for controlling waterway erosion on steep embankments and in high rain events.

Being completely constructed from natural materials has the added benefit of making coir logs 100% biodegradable.

Coir logs decompose slowly, enriching the soil with useful nutrients that provide a habitat for plants and animals.

Timber stakes are recommended for installation.

Erosion & Sediment Control Coir Mesh Matting Coir mesh is an effective natural solution for erosion control and soil stabilisation, especially on slopes and swales. Laid over exposed soil, it prevents particles being displaced by wind or water, helps the ground retain moisture, and gradually enriches soil as the fibres biodegrade. This creates favourable conditions for plant growth while the mesh continues to provide support and protection during establishment.

Jute Mat Stratex Jute Mat is a natural solution for erosion control and soil protection on exposed areas. Erosion & Sediment Control Silt Fence The Stratex Silt Fence is designed to reduce soil sediment runoff during construction activity. It allows water to filter through the fabric, whilst suspending and retaining soil particles that settle to the ground. Silt fencing is typically supported using hardwood stakes and is suitable for use around construction sites and soil stockpiles. This prevents sediment flowing offsite and entering rivers, stormwater drains and sensitive environments.

Floc Sock The Stratex Flocculant Sock (Floc Sock) provides fast, effective sediment control for sediment laden water. A flocculant block inside a heavy-duty polypropylene sock releases a controlled dose as water passes through, binding sediment, heavy metals, hydrocarbons, nutrients, and organic matter into heavier “flocs” that settle out to improve water quality.

Erosion & Sediment Control

Silt Curtains Silt curtains provide a waterborne barrier around waterfront civil construction projects, restricting damage from sediment runoff into waterways such as rivers, lakes and harbours. The curtain is constructed from a PVC coated top float chamber using oil resistant crumble-proof foam blocks - this section is longitudinally reinforced with polyester webbing for extra strength.

A non-woven geotextile skirt below the float chamber restricts water flow and allows the suspended sediment to settle. A PVC coated chain pocket is attached to the bottom of the geofabric skirt to provide sufficient ballast to keep it taut.

Dewatering Bag

Dewatering Bags, also known as Sediment Filter Bags, are perfect for pumping and filtering sediment laden water from construction or mining sites. They provide a cost effective and simple method of removing silt and heavy particles from excavation water. Manufactured from strong non-woven geotextile which allows water to filter freely through the bag while retaining solids.

Flow rate of 80L/m2/sec, subject to variation during usage.

Featuring a 100mm diameter hose inlet as standard, the Dewatering Bags can be custom made almost any size to suit different project requirements. The Silt and Hydrocarbon Filter Bags include an oil absorbent filtration media inside the geotextile bag. They are used to dewater an area containing both hydrocarbon and sediment contamination.

It consists of a sturdy geotextile outer and a smart polymer filling, which activates when exposed to fresh water. GuardDog DamSock

The GuardDog DamSock is a sustainable silt sock alternative that filters contaminated stormwater runoff, trapping sediment, removing hydrocarbons, and even containing concrete slurry. It works by forming a barrier against contaminated water, allowing clean water to seep through while holding back pollutants. Concrete Washout Concrete Washout Bag The Stratex Concrete Washout Bag provides a quick and convenient solution to contain all concrete washout waste.

The bag is simply placed under the chute or hopper and the slurry is contained in the plastic/polyethylene inner liner in the bag. When the concrete is set, the bag is forkliftable with built in loops for safe and easy transportation to an offsite location.

All bags are fully tested and compliant with Australian Standard AS3668-1989 and have safe working loads listed below. Once set, the Concrete Washout Bag and its contents creates a versatile secondary product to use for car park walls, low retaining walls or designated compounds. The bags are perfect for use in applications such as Civil Construction, Road Construction & Commercial Construction.

Concrete Washout Filtration Unit The Concretre Washout Filtration Unit is designed for the safe and convenient handling of concrete washout waste. The filter bag traps waste aggregate and sand and water is captured in the holding tank for testing and treatment. This unit can also be used as a dewatering station for sites requiring sediment control or pollution runoff.

FODS Composite Trackout Mat The Composite Trackout Control Mat with FODS technology is a durable, eco-friendly solution for stopping mud and debris on construction sites. It removes sediment from vehicle tyres when moving from unsealed to sealed roads, keeping roads clean and compliant.

How does it work?

The GuardDog fits over most stormwater drains. As contaminated runoff passes through the filter, the GuardDog traps, silt sediment and hydrocarbons.

DrainSAFE Stormwater Isolation Unit

The DrainSAFE is a serviceable unit that retrofits inside a drain pit. Once installed it sits entirely beneath the drain grate.

It does not impede wheel or foot traffic over the grate. The isolation valve that closes the unit and stops flow into the stormwater system is engaged manually by extending and turning the telescopic handle within the unit.

The stainless steel handle stows in a protective shaft within the diffuser body and beneath the grate. Once engaged, the telescopic handle will extend above ground level out of the grate.Debris is captured in the diffuser body. Hydrocarbons are trapped by an absorbent boom secured within the diffuser. Features a flow rate of up to 33L/s, 80L capacity.

Weighted Drain Cover Weighted Drain Covers are a simple, quick to deploy and effective method for temporarily sealing a stormwater drain in the event of a spill. Blocking the drain will allow time for spill cleanup while preventing stormwater contamination. The Weighted Drain Cover comes with a storage bag that can be attached to a wall or similar to ensure it is readily available to deploy in seconds.

• Heavy duty PVC, with geo-textile underlay ensures a better seal on rough surfaces.

• The gel filling allows flexibility so the drain cover conforms to almost any gutter or flooring surface while allowing the edges to sit firmly over the grate and drain surrounds.

Polyurethane Drain Cover Polyurethane drain covers are the simplest of all drain covers.

Just remove from its cover, unroll, and place it on the drain.

The tacky, flexible polyurethane cover forms a tight seal to block out contaminates. These covers temporarily bond to any smooth surface and are resistant to most chemicals including oils, fuels and solvents. Easily cleaned and reused - just wash with warm soapy water and wrap in plastic sheet. Five sizes of covers are available, and a vinyl holdall can also be purchased separately for high visibility storage.

Portable Containment Bunding Portable bunds are designed for rapid deployment both indoors and outdoors. They are heavy duty and can be used during machinery storage and maintenance, particularly in sensitive environments and where there is a risk of spills occurring.

EnviroPad Spill Mat The EnviroPad is a revolutionary spill pad that captures and solidifies hydrocarbon spills including oils, fuels and hydraulic fluids. By using smart polymer technology, the EnviroPad turns these liquids into solid rubber, preventing any contaminants from leaking or leaching into the environment even under pressure.

The EnviroPad is not affected by heavy rain or water, reducing contaminated waste disposal costs. It is safe to use outdoors in all weather conditions, and can be carried or stored upright after use. Its non-leaching characteristics mean that the EnviroPad can be safely disposed of landfill (subject to local and state regulations).

Eligible for IS Credits The EnviroPad is listed on the Infrastructure Sustainability Council iSupply directory. It provides a unique solution to the common issue of groundwater and stormwater pollution during construction activity. It is the first product of its kind in Australia, and is an all-weather alternative to business-asusual methods of plant nappies and drip pans it may assist in obtaining IS credits for Inn-1 (ISv1.2 and ISv2.1).

The EnviroPad captures hydrocarbon spills, leaks and drips from vehicles, plant equipment and machinery. It prevents stormwater runoff contamination, thus improving receiving water quality. 100% Recycled Drain Guard

Australia’s first 100% Recycled Silt Sock is made from used gawk screen and reclaimed aggregate. Gawk screen silt socks last up to three times longer than a traditional silt sock. This is due to the flexibility of the heavy duty PVC mesh. Silt socks are placed in and around stormwater gutters and drains to prevent sediment from entering stormwater. The recycled silt sock is available with an optional Spilltration Husky hydrocarbon filter also made from 100% recycled materials.
