Welcome to the 17th annual Pawleys Island Wine and Food Gala.

Thanks to the hard work of a lot of committee members and volunteers, you have the opportunity to taste over 100 wonderful wines and cordials, while enjoying the beauty of the Reserve Golf Club and the bounty of delectable hors d’oeuvres presented by our gracious and talented food vendors.

All the proceeds from this magical evening will benefit the Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art. So, please take a minute to check out the fabulous vacations, jewelry, art and other items being offered in the Silent Auction.

And, remember that none of this would be possible without the generous support of the wine distributors and vintners you see here tonight. Not only do they provide us with all these wonderful wines for tonight, they also give you the opportunity to order your favorites at a very special gala price. 100% Chenin Blanc from low yielding 32-42 year old bush vines on rolling hills in Paarl and Stellenbosch. A small percentage of the grapes were fermented in French Oak barrels to generate an added dimension of richness. The complex nose shows upfront tropical fruit, ripe pineapple, melon, peaches and honey flavors, lifted by a citrus element.

This Pinot Grigio has delightful, ripe aromas of pears, apple melon, and some tropical notes of pineapple and banana. It has good balance, nice acidity and a long, fresh finish.

100% Colombard harvested at night. A pale, bright yellow color with a very intense and refreshing nose. It displays flavors citrus fruit and blackcurrant leaf.

Deep in color with ruby hints. It has scents of red and black berries mixed with floral notes, together with hints of delicate spices and vanilla. On the palate it displays aromas of crushed black fruits such as raspberries, black currants, cherries and black cherry-jam. This wine is complex, rich and long with well integrated tannins.

90% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano. Aged 2 years in oak, with an additional 1 year in bottle before release. A complex and elegant aroma of mature ripe black fruits, vanilla and cinnamon spice. Extremely velvety smooth, harmonious with a fresh finish.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Ruby with purple hues. Notes of mature forest fruits complemented by subtle spicy notes of black pepper, paprika, with an herbal touch. It has a mouth end of intense dark fruit presence.

The grapes used for Zuccardi Q come from recognized micro-climates in the Uco Valley and selected old vineyards. Dark violet with shades of black. Great floral aromas with rich, ripe blackberry, plum and chocolate notes melted with blackcurrant and cassis display an excellent balance and freshness. A persistent, velvety finish.

Recently voted Best Red Blend by Decanter Magazine. Tito Zuccardi is a wine that has no limits. This unique blend has been developed in honor of Alberto Zuccardi, known to all as “Tito” - a great visionary who planted the first vineyards of the family. The wine is a blend of classic non-traditional varieties. This wine is layered with spicy and smoky notes which are subtle and distinguished. The mouth is elegant with a silky entry and tannins that reflect the vineyard’s calcerous soil.

It is a fresh blend with great personality.

This 2012 matured in French (60%) and American (40%) barrels for 14 months. This is the wine that has improved the most, and it’s now a fine, elegant wine with restrained power, true to the place where it’s born.There are some spicy aromas intermixed with the wild berry aromas, developing some balsamic undertones, licorice and a little bit of toast. The texture is very fine with dusty tannins, good acidity and freshness.”
