Our Daily Chapel encourages spiritual, character and leadership growth at all ages. Eighth Grade students lead our school. They have developed a clear sense of self and the confidence to embrace the opportunities and challenges of high school. Teachers and staff who truly know their students assist with high school placement and transition. Our students regularly are accepted into their first high school of choice. Our students are ready for the high school transition. When they leave, they support each other and are prepared to move into a new environment and establish new friendships. We believe it is a transition that will prepare them for their eventual move to college. Our students, who grow within our community, maintain close friendships long after graduation. We are building and maintaining an active alumni program to continue that support system and maintain the friendships built at St. Paul’s.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Day School was founded by St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Today the church and school are still united by sharing a campus, crossover of board members, shared activities, support of the church’s food pantry by our student body, and through weekly All-School chapel in the beautiful 100+ year old sanctuary of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The close relationship between church and school provides wonderful opportunities for mutual support, program development, and service.

Need-based tuition assistance applications are available online at www.speds.org. Tuition and fees for the 2017-18 school year will be determined by the Board of Trustees in January of 2017. PAYMENT PLANS
One-Payment Option – 100% of remaining tuition (after 10% enrollment deposit) and fees billed July 1, 2016. Two-Payment Option – 50% of remaining tuition (after 10% enrollment deposit) and fees billed July 1, 2016 with remaining balance billed December 1, 2016. Ten-Payment Option – Monthly payment plan with installments billed beginning in April through January. A $55 processing fee is assessed for this option. Payment is by direct debit.
EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM The philosophy of St. Paul’s Extended Day Program is to provide affordable and accessible programs for students in a safe and supervised environment outside of school hours. Programs seek to complement both the home and the school by offering a base of warmth and security provided by caring adults. St. Paul’s faculty members, area professionals and college students staff our programs. Extended Day is available from 3:30–6 p.m. each school day. AFTER-SCHOOL CLASSES During the school year, After School Classes are offered each semester. These popular offerings include classes in art, music, theatre, chess, yoga, fitness and more. Classes are open to all St. Paul’s students, regardless of whether they are
registered in Extended Day. Classes are generally held between 3:45– 5 p.m. and are taught by faculty members or community professionals. MUSIC LESSONS Music lessons in voice, piano, guitar and other instruments are taught each afternoon. Lessons are one half hour in length and are held on the St. Paul’s campus between 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Scheduling is done through the Extended Day Office on an individual basis for the convenience of the teacher, student, and parent. EARLY ROOM Early Room care is provided for students arriving prior to 8 a.m. Toddler - Kindergarten meet in the Early Childhood Commons. At 8
a.m., Early Childhood students are escorted to their classrooms by a teacher. Students in 1st through 8th grade meet in the south MultiPurpose Room (2nd Floor) and enjoy playing board games, finishing homework, reading, and visiting with friends. VACATION DAY PROGRAMS Vacation Day programs take place on “Early Dismissal” and “No School” days. Vacation Days are open from 7:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. on No School Days and noon to 6 p.m. on Early Dismissal Days. Indoor and outdoor activities and special projects are planned for each Vacation Day. These are fun-filled days with a wide variety of activities including field trips (older students), arts and crafts, music and group and individual games. Pre-registration is required for all students on these days; Online registration opens approximately two weeks prior to each Vacation Day. A minimum number of students must be registered for each Vacation Day by the registration deadline in order for St. Paul’s to offer this service. The school administration reserves the right to cancel these days if pre-registration is insufficient.
AFTERNOON PROGRAMS FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD All children in toddler and preschool will be enrolled in a half-day program (8:25 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.). Lunch Bunch & A-Team are extensions of the morning program. Half-day toddlers may participate in Lunch Bunch. ADMISSIONS POLICY
St. Paul’s Episcopal Day School seeks motivated students of strong personal character who demonstrate academic promise. Although admissions decisions are not based upon the date applications are received by the school, applications received within the regular enrollment cycle (September – January) are given priority. Criteria for admission varies with the age of the applicant. Criteria may include observations by teachers, grades, test scores, writing samples, teacher recommendations, assessments based on interviews and classroom visits, the composition of the current class and gender balance. Parents of prospective students interested in applying for admission to St. Paul’s should contact the Director of Admissions at admissions@speds.org or 816.268.6542. All prospective students must complete the admissions process following general admissions procedures. The Admissions Committee carefully reviews complete application files. Notification of admission decisions are sent by March 15 for applications processed during the regular admissions cycle.
