BROTHER’S FOREWORD JOURNEY OF GROWTH, UNITY AND PURPOSE This academic year has been a remarkable journey marked by growth, unity, and purpose. We began the year by strengthening bonds and resilience through the Cohort Camp and the Endurance Walk — experiences that taught us that success is found not only in reaching the destination, but also in supporting one another along the way. Our students continued to live out the spirit of service through “Becoming Blessings for the Community – Love in Action.” Their heartfelt involvement reminded us that true greatness is measured by the impact we make on the lives of others. We also celebrated the gifts and talents of our Patricians, Igniting Passion and creativity across the school and showcasing the extraordinary potential within our student body. This year also saw the nurturing of body, mind, and spirit through improved physical surroundings on our campus. New quiet spaces and the meditative garden now provide areas for reflection, rest, and renewal — reminding us that growth flourishes in stillness as much as in activity. As we close this chapter, may we carry forward the lessons learned, the friendships built, and the courage to continue becoming the best versions of ourselves. PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Dear Patricians and Friends of St Patrick’s School, 2025 has been another year of growth and maturity, enabling the school to strengthen its foundations in various forms - from the pursuit of academic excellence to the nurturing of character and compassion. Each milestone, big or small, has contributed to the story of who we are and who we aspire to become. This year, our students continued to exemplify dedication and artistry through their talents and teamwork. The Guitar Ensemble achieved a remarkable Distinction Award at the Singapore Youth Festival, a testament to their countless hours of practice and unwavering passion for music. Their performance was not only technically impressive but emotionally stirring - a harmonious reminder of the beauty that emerges when discipline meets creativity. Our athletes also embodied perseverance and school spirit in every competition they entered. In particular, the Cricket B Division Team brought pride to our community by securing the silver medal, showcasing both skill and sportsmanship. Their achievement stands as an inspiration to all and proof that teamwork, strategy, and hard work can turn challenges into triumphs. Equally inspiring was the Basketball C Division Team, whose journey was defined by courage and resilience. Despite facing injuries and setbacks, they displayed remarkable determination, achieving victory through sheer grit and unity.

ACTIVE RECESS PROGRAMME

The St. Patrick’s School Active Recess Programme kicked off with a bang this year, thanks to two spanking new air hockey tables. Students raced to the canteen to secure a spot, mallets in hand and pucks ready to fly. Fast-paced 1v1 matches and chaotic six-player showdowns lit up the space, the sharp clack and thwack of pucks ricocheting off table walls echoing through the air. Cheers rang out as friends rallied behind one another, while others huddled in corners, strategising their next move. Juniors played with seniors, teachers joined in the fun—no one was spared, and everyone left with a grin.

Just a few steps away, for those craving a bit more physicality, the table tennis area buzzed with intensity. Paddles cracked as balls zipped back and forth in a blur. Students lunged, laughed, and shouted in bated anticipation, sneakers squealing on the concrete as they chased down impossible angles. It was loud, sweaty, and gloriously competitive—every point a small victory, and every miss a chance to redeem. For students preferring a slower pace, the board games corner offered calm and concentration. Chess boards were carefully set up, and players leaned in with quiet focus, eyes fixed on every deliberate move. Around them, small crowds formed, drawn in by the tension and silent drama unfolding on the checkered battlefield This vibrant mix of activity and energy fosters not just fun, but also teamwork, camaraderie, brotherhood, and a healthy dose of friendly competition. The Active Recess Programme continues to be a highlight of the day—an invitation to destress, connect, and play.

Caring Commuters Programme “Taking part in the Caring Commuter Programme has been a rewarding adventure for me. At first, I struggled with how to connect with others during my bus rides. Approaching new people felt awkward, and I often wanted to just keep to myself. However, I quickly learned that even small gestures, like smiling or saying hello, could make a big difference. The joy of being a caring commuter came from forming connections. I remember helping a younger student with his backpack and seeing his face light up. It reminded me that kindness matters. On the flip side, witnessing unkind behavior was tough. I didn’t always know how to react when I saw someone being bullied. It showed me that caring sometimes means standing up for others. Overall, the programme taught me to be more empathetic and to embrace the idea that small acts of kindness can create a positive community.” 27 ANNUAL YEARBOOK 2025

Climate Action Heroes “Being a climate action hero means taking responsibility for our planet, and the beach clean-up showed me just how important this is. At first, I thought picking up litter was a small effort, but seeing how much trash was polluting the beautiful beach changed my perspective. As I worked with classmates, I realised that even small actions matter. Each piece of litter we collected felt like a victory against pollution, and it was inspiring to see our beach transform. This experience motivated me to continue advocating for the environment in my daily life, like recycling and educating others. I may only be 14, but I understand that together we can make a significant impact on our world.”

“Playing pickleball with older adults showed me their unexpected strengths. They might not be as fast, but their strategic thinking and patience often surpassed our youthful energy. At first, I found it hard to keep up, but I welcomed the challenge. We focused on improving skills instead of just competing, which helped us communicate and bond. This teamwork allowed us to learn from each other, mixing my enthusiasm with their experience. In the end, I not only improved my game but also made meaningful friendships with them.”

It’s all about having fun together, sharing laughs, and learning from each other. I loved hearing their stories and discovering how much we can connect despite the age difference. CELEBRATING THE UNSUNG HEROES WHO KEEP OUR SCHOOL RUNNING In school, we often hear about students’ achievements and teachers’ hard work, but there’s a whole group of people who quietly keep everything running—and they don’t always get the appreciation they deserve. These are our cleaners, technical officers, and administrative staff, and our school wouldn’t function without them. Every day, our cleaners come in early to make sure our classrooms and hallways are clean and safe. Most of us don’t see them working, but we all feel the difference they make.

Our technical officers are the reason our lab equipment works and our classroom technology doesn’t randomly break down. Whenever something stops working, they’re the ones who rush in to save the day. And of course, our administrative staff keep the school organised. They manage schedules, answer questions, help us with forms, and make sure everything runs smoothly. By appreciating these people, we build a kinder and more grateful school community—one where everyone’s efforts are recognised.

STUDENT COUNCIL PRESIDENT OUTGOING Chong Yu Herng MEMORABLE EVENT

One of the most memorable events this year was organising the Teachers’ Day performance. Being part of the planning team and hosting the event as an emcee, was both exciting and nerve-wracking. Behind the smooth flow of the programme was weeks of preparation, coordination, and last-minute adjustments. It was a challenging process, but seeing the teachers smile and enjoy themselves made everything worth it. What made it even more special was knowing we had created something meaningful — not just an event, but a heartfelt tribute to the people who had guided us throughout the year.

REFLECTION

Serving as president has truly been a fulfilling experience for me. When I first stepped into the role of President, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I knew there would be responsibilities, but I didn’t realise just how much I would grow, not just as a leader, but as a person. There were moments of doubt, times when things didn’t go as planned, and challenges that felt too big to overcome. But there was also joy in the little wins, the breakthroughs, and the connections I built along the way. I used to think that being council president would be daunting, and it was, the expectations and responsibilities felt overwhelming at timesBut looking back, I’m truly grateful to have been entrusted with this role. It wasn’t just about leading. It was about learning, falling, rising, and finding purpose through service. I’ve discovered that true leadership isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up, staying grounded, and doing your best even when it’s hard. Being president gave me a voice, but more importantly, it taught me how to listen, connect, and care. And as I step away from this role, I don’t just leave with memories. I leave with a stronger version of myself, and a heart full of gratitude for every moment that shaped me.
