News from Etonbury Academy
At the end of May our Year 11 GCSE students completed their assessments, and Mr Matthew Harpin, Head of Year 11, arranged the leavers assembly. Shirts were signed, videos and photographs were played, the individual awards from staff and students were read out and the Etonbury rock band played for them, there were very few dry eyes in the house. It’s these times we really feel the comradery, kindness and supportive community we have here between staff and students, everyone wants the best for each other. A huge congratulations to the following students for their academic achievements and nominated by each department: English - Evie Emery Maths - Hannah Clarke Chemistry - Kerry Moss Biology - Lauryn West Physics - Izzy Everitt Combined Science - Leanne Barber and Olivia Brisson History - Thea Pilch Geography - Neve Church Spanish - Isaac Bonnani French - Hannah Clarke Childcare - Gemma Heslin and Kasey Mulley Food - Jasmine Norman Drama - Thea Pilch PE - Joe Bennett and Natasha Ryall Dance - Amber King Photography - Dylan Smith Art - Evie Emery Media - Lily Hall and Adam Williams Engineering - Ben Clifford Music - Isaac Lonsdale Computer Science - Hannah Clarke
An enormous well done to Izzy Everitt, for achieving the Principal’s Award and James Campbell for the Head of Year Award. We are now looking forward to celebrating their years at Etonbury with a ‘Garden Party’ , a theme chosen by our students and a change to the normal style. What’s next at Etonbury this Summer Term This half term our focus is on transition for our students in Juniors Year 6 moving up to the Secondary School in September. We have also organised a Summer School, week commencing 23rd August, for our Year 6s aimed to support them with this transition, learning new skills and at the same time as having some fun with their peers. We will be welcoming our children from the lower schools joining us in
