In Silence

BEADING OF THOUGHTS (A SHORT STORY)

by Ankur R. Gupta

he rustle of soft breeze played gently at the corner of a room where Aarav was lost in deep thoughts while tying a knot of his tie As he stares in the mirror, his chiseled manly face slowly begins to haze out into the soft face of a young boy, drifting him away into a memory lane when he was eight years old

Eeeek…… shrieked young Aarav, who ran for his life, the moment, he saw a frog in his sister’s hand The slimy creature staring hard at him with bulging eyes was ready to jump on him anytime

Look Ma, what a chicken face! your son is, laughed Aarti as she ran behind her brother with a frog in her hand

Hey ! Aarti, stop troubling your Bhaiya, chided the mother softly, trying hard to conceal her laughter on seeing her son's flushed-out face. Hmmm when will he learn, she murmured

I didn’t learn Ma, despite your persistent efforts, chuckled Aarav loudly as he returned to his present time. I’m still a scary cat when it comes to those slimy things, he said, in a sheepish voice, as he adjusted his knot

Walking away from the mirror, he gazed outside a window at the swelling blue sea. The oscillating movement of the crashing waves on the rocks started rolling him back again into a time when he was 12 years old

Mmmm seriously Abhi, we should do something about Aarav's habit of getting stuck with one thing, spoke the mother with concern It’s not just the toys… it's with everything…. the books, clothes, friends, he just doesn’t like to explore much.

No, Sonia, it is not the right way you’re thinking, replied Abhi, looking up from his laptop Then what is it, she asked, impatiently.

Your Son is a Cheery pick-chooser, answered Abhi I mean, if he develops a fascination for anything in particular, he goes in-depth about it Seeing Sonia still not convinced, Abhi makes her recall a moment when she was upset with Aarav for not helping her put up Diwali Lights.

What you fail to notice was that he was more interested in knowing the dynamics of how these light strings were made and how it works and…. And…. she spoke, cutting Abhi’s words in between and for this year's Diwali, he assembled his LED strings to hang it at our door Ghosh, for a month, this boy drove me crazy working secluded in his room. And, till he succeeded, he was such a restless soul, she blurted out with mixed emotions of grumble and pride

Exactly, nodded Abhi, this is what I’m trying to make you understand. Our son has an insatiable hunger to know everything about things he is passionate about But a bare minimum appetite for the things he does not find interesting

Hmmm, Ya, perhaps you’re right, she nodded in agreement.

Aarav Bhaiya, don’t you get bored of playing with the same type of toys, grumbled Aarti, seeing the trail of toy cars stacked neatly on his study table. Last year, the whole room was piled with Star Trek movie character models, and now these cars, she complained

Aarav, busy assembling one of the car models, looked at her sister and smiled. Go, play with my other toys, he shoved her away gently. Ya, the one you hardly like, she grumbled cheekily

As the reels of flashbacks paused, it brought Aarav, back into his present Thanks, Dad, for standing by me and understanding me so well, he muttered softly.

But, Dad, there was one thing you missed out on, or rather, you purposely ignored it, he murmured, taking a deep breath

Once again, he drifted back into his past when he was 23 and had just graduated

Are you out of your mind Aarav, shouted his Dad in anger.

Calm down Abhi, at least let him finish speaking, intervened Sonia, trying to snap out the tension between Son and father.

Abhi and Sonia were in shock as their son dropped a bomb on them by sharing that he was not going to the U S A for his higher studies as he was keen on becoming a Chef and not a scientist.

This is utter nonsense, grunted Abhi in disappointment, unable to digest what his son was talking

But Why Dad? protested Aarav in a grave voice. I want to do what I love to do.

You loved assembling cars, and you were so passionate about science, experimenting, and inventing new things…. remember how hard you studied to get into a prestigious engineering college? You had aimed for a Ph D to be a scientist Then why???

Because Dad, you forgot, said Aarav in an intense voice, cutting his father’s words in between. You deliberately ignored my strong liking for cooking An interest that you never appreciated as my passion but a mere hobby Ah! you had already decided for me to be a scientist, hadn’t Dad…. and seeing your intensity, I too began to believe that. Aarav tried to reason out that as a parent, he did the right thing in guiding him toward a career with lucrative prospects But now, at this stage, as he embarks on the path of self-exploration, he realizes that he wants to make a different choice.

I may fail, Dad, but tears will be of happiness and not of remorse, he pleaded, feeling a bit light, unloading the burden of thoughts he had been carrying in his mind for a long time

I don’t know, muttered Abhi in a low voice. Taken aback, he goes out of the room unable to bear the rudimentary shock his beloved son had given xxxx

It's been a week now, Abhi Stop brooding and talk to your Son, chided Sonia softly to her husband

They were sitting in their immaculately done garden adorned with exotic plantations.

What do you want me to say to him about? That bravo son, what a wise choice you’ve made, he spoke with sarcasm as he sipped his tea that had turned cold.

No, just for a change, listen to him, she requested Abhi, as parents, we have guided our child in a way we wanted him to go. Well, I am not saying anything wrong with this…perhaps, at that time, the child is clueless, and we have to hold his hand But now that child is a grownup Man It's time to leave his hand and let him explore his journey

Hmm…Mmmm… he responded as kept listening to his wife, who reminded him how both of them had to leave their dreams under the pressure of their families But still, that void of what if we could have pursued our dreams keeps needling them persistently.

What are you trying to say? Sonia, he asked as his eyebrows joined together in a deep frown

Don’t let this what-if thorns get stuck with your son, lamented Sonia…leaving Abhi in a pensive mood.

This stubborn streak is the one that makes you different from others Son, spoke Abhi, sitting in their living room Though I am still apprehensive about your decision, at the same time, I know the passion in you will drive you to all levels to achieve it.

Aarav felt a bit relieved by his father speaking to him However, when his father asked him what prompted him to choose a Chef, he became tense again

Well, Dad, this didn’t happen in just one night, said Aarav in a thoughtful voice as he began to explain how happy he felt when he got into his dream college

It felt like a dream coming true…but ... as he hesitated, his father nudged him softy to speak Aarav continued talking about how he persistently felt a kind of restlessness that pricked him almost every day, in his last four years of engineering When I rewind my past and connect the dots, I realize that prickliness subsided whenever I came home during vacations and spent hours in the kitchen experimenting with cooking But It used to surface again when I returned to the hostel, and with time, it increased

Hmm…. murmured Abhi with eagerness as his son continued talking

Aarav recalled the time when his grades in the third year began to fall, and it was because he got distracted from his goal. In that anxiety, he spent hours seeing food videos, listening to podcasts by various chefs, or reading about food science

And, you know Dad, revealed Aarav strangely, I felt good, not guilty about it, and that left me more baffled.

Why didn’t you tell me, Son ? he asked tersely

How could I, Dad? I was not even sure what was making me restless…You always saw a scientist in me, and I too, saw with your eyes He then further explained that despite the confusion he was battling, his love for science and focus on getting into a Ph.D. remained unchanged. So, he ignored this restlessness as a drifting thought and studied hard in his fourth year

But he said, taking a long pause and closing his eyes, recalling the day he got the letter from the USA college for Ph.D.

My first reaction was a sense of achievement, but it was momentary The second reaction that lasted was I was again feeling restless that time, I felt like the ground was slipping beneath my feet. There was a pin-drop silence in the room. The atmosphere in the room was engrossed in feelings of confusion and anxiety

Hmmm…. So that’s why you went for a 2-month solo trip, asked Sonia.

Yes, Ma I needed time to find out the answer to this, Why?

Aarav then spoke, in length about how he traveled to remote places in India But instead of tourist places, he found himself more interested in exploring the local cuisines and meeting people with a wide knowledge of food and a passion for cooking He tried endless dishes, including a famous breakfast of Banaras Kachori sabzi, which had a history of about 200 years And, how curious and excited he felt as he explored 12 old shops of this dish, each having its unique flavor. Similar feelings he experienced on the streets of Madurai, where he came across more than 20 varieties of Idlis, from its traditional style to the fusion

But the best was, said Aarav in an exhilarating voice when I had a hands-on experience with a few local Halwai to dig out some of the most sumptuous delicacies of Gewar, the famous sweet in Mewar There, I had a chance to attend a workshop by a chef Rajdeep, and was amazed to see how he could transform traditional dishes into new ones or add new flavors to them I understood from him and other local chefs that cooking is a science where you experiment with various condiments, combinations, and measurements to invent a new dish.

All these explorations of days during the trip echoed in Aarav's mind and encouraged him to do some hard thinking. He realized that in these two months, not even once did he feel restless. He then began to connect the dots about his love for food since childhood He finally concluded that cooking has always been his first love but it didn’t get a chance to blossom.

However, it never faded away from my heart… rather it became more intense, he stated in a deep voice I realized my true passion lies in combining my love for science with my culinary aspirations So, I want to become a Chef and a Researcher in the area of food science.

Abhi and Sonia kept listening to him They couldn’t recall the last time they saw him so excited and happy.

Aarav gazed into his father’s eyes deeply to speak Dad, I feel adrenaline when creating a new dish in my kitchen rather than in my science labs please let me do it The plead and intensity in his voice moistened Abhi’s eyes

For the first time, I have made a choice. I want to embark on my self-journey as a Chef. Ah, though I’m a bit scared but as you always said, I’m stubborn like a bull to get what I’m passionate about, he chuckled softly, trying to snap out the chord of tension in the room.

Sonia, his wife, held his hand and whispered, Abhi, it’s time to let go of our son’s hand to let him fly … understanding how their son Beading his Thoughts in Silence, chose his journey

Aarav, are you ready to go, called out a voice, knocking on his room door softly, which broke his chain of thoughts of the past to bring him into the present

Ah…in a minute, Dad, he called out as he tightened his tie knot Hmm come in, and turned to greet his Ma, Dad, Aarti, and his wife Sara Let’s go, Master Chef Aarav, it’s your big day today, said Abhi, beaming with pride.

Aarav had trolled tirelessly for years, merging his engineering knowledge with his culinary skills He developed cutting-edge kitchen appliances and a sustainable, fast, futuristic series of food delicacies, especially popular with Gen Z. His innovative contributions were highly appreciated by private cooperates who flooded him with offers to start his own Food business And, now, he was all set to go to receive the most prestigious award in the chef community, the Michelin Stars.

So, with a spatula in one hand and a blueprint in the other, Aarav continued, fulfilling his dreams and inspiring others to pursue their passions fearlessly He had become a role model for aspiring chefs and engineers, proving that the boundaries between different fields can be blurred, leading to groundbreaking discoveries and personal fulfillment

Brian Merchant's "Blood in the Machine" delves into the labour struggles of the Industrial Revolution, drawing intriguing parallels with today's gig economy. The book meticulously explores the historical context of the Luddite movement, a group of textile workers in 19th-century England who vehemently resisted obsolescence brought about by new machines Merchant, a tech columnist at The Los Angeles Times, combines extensive archival materials with journalistic flair, offering a fresh perspective on the Luddites' travails and connecting them to contemporary conflicts and indignities. The narrative unfolds around individuals whose lives were upended by technological change during this pivotal time. From the decadent Prince Regent to the infamous Lord Byron and the orphan Robert Blincoe, Merchant weaves a compelling tale Central to the story is George Mellor, a charismatic leader of Luddite cadres whose daring actions culminate in the vengeful assassination of a cruel millowner, marking the unraveling of the movement While situating the Luddite story within its historical context, Merchant skillfully uses the past as a lens to examine presentday challenges The book's political stakes become evident as Merchant portrays the early 19th century in contemporary language, drawing parallels between factory owners and modern tech titans disrupting industries. The term "psychic factory" vividly describes platforms like Amazon, Uber, and Instacart, which cyborgize workers for maximum productivity. Merchants reframe the Luddites as proto-unionist reformers rather than violent revolutionaries, emphasizing their focus on regulation and fair treatment He interviews contemporary labor figures like Chris Smalls, likening them to George Mellor in our era

Brian Merchant's engaging writing style and comprehensive research make the book an essential read for those interested in the intersection of history, technology, and labor struggles.

In "Hidden Potential," Adam Grant, an organisational psychologist and professor at Wharton Business School, takes a unique approach to exploring the concept of potential Rather than introducing new research or groundbreaking concepts, Grant skillfully weaves together existing studies and ideas, creating a compelling case for uncovering hidden potential

The book serves as a guide on how individuals can extract more from themselves, and others, and the systems that have the potential for broader application Grant's writing style is both easy to read and captivating, employing storytelling to elucidate psychological points and concepts clearly While the book may not be filled with sudden revelations, it is brimming with memorable insights that prompt readers to think, "I must remember that." Grant's storytelling prowess makes the subject matter come alive, leaving readers yearning for educators who can breathe life into academic subjects with engaging narratives. Key takeaways from the book include the perspective that potential is not determined by one's starting point but by the distance traveled. Grant emphasizes that major strides are not exclusive to nature's outliers but often result from nurturing. He explores the concept of discomfort as a catalyst for growth, urging individuals to embrace and seek discomfort as a marker of progress The distinction between personality and character is another focal point, with Grant emphasizing that personality is a predisposition, while character is the capacity to prioritize values over instincts He challenges the pitfalls of perfectionism, revealing how it impedes progress by fixating on irrelevant details and avoiding challenges Motivation, according to Grant, is fueled by a sense of progress, and he advocates for detours to new destinations when faced with challenges.

Overall, "Hidden Potential" offers a refreshing take on personal and professional development, emphasizing learnable skills, sustained motivation, and systemic opportunities.

In the intricate tapestry of the Courtney family saga, Wilbur Smith's latest historical fiction adventure, "Nemesis: A Novel of the French Revolution," unravels through the contrasting perspectives of two protagonists, Paul Courtney and Adam

Courtney Although unaware of each other's existence, their destinies interweave against the backdrop of the French Revolution and Napoleon's reign. Coming to the plot, Paul Courtney, a French escapee haunted by the execution of his mother, flees to sea, unwittingly becoming part of an expedition to Egypt. His harrowing journey unfolds as he grapples with victimization by a homosexual officer, showcasing the grim realities of the time. Meanwhile, Adam Courtney, the English admiral's son, embarks on a perilous quest to confront a deranged and sadistic relative responsible for the brutal murders of his family in a remote South African bay While the narrative's ambitious scope promises an epic adventure, some aspects of the plot appear labored and farfetched The improbable scenario of Adam being born and raised on his father's ship raises questions about historical accuracy, challenging the believability of the Royal Navy allowing such arrangements Additionally, the portrayal of the villain, Hugo Courtney, seemingly in two places at once during pivotal moments introduces elements of confusion to the storyline. The novel's dark undertones and graphic violence, including Paul having his tongue cut out, may not be suitable for the faint-hearted. A notable aspect is the reported death of Wilbur Smith during the writing process, leaving room for speculation about potential disruptions in the narrative's cohesiveness Despite these challenges, "Nemesis" offers a complex and riveting adventure that spans continents and periods, delving into the family's history during a tumultuous era

In conclusion, "Nemesis" is a captivating addition to the Courtney family legacy, catering to avid historical novel readers.

The Devadasi system, a part of ancient India's Hindu religion, involved prepubescent females being married to temples, priests, or local deities. This practice, derived from Sanskrit, was considered sacred but later evolved into a system of female prostitution with religious approval

Lower-caste girls, like Dalits, were coerced into marriages with temple priests and later exploited by affluent individuals. This marked a departure from the initial sanctity of the Devadasi tradition. In 2008, journalist Arun Ezhuthachan set out to probe the illegal continuance of banned dance bars in Mangaluru, only to stumble upon a hidden contemporary facet of the Devadasi tradition. This led him to a complex network of old beliefs and modernday oppression Arun's investigation revealed the plight of young girls dedicated to temples who eventually became mistresses of upper-caste men, left abandoned as they grew older Through interviews with locals, NGOs, and the affected women themselves, Arun traced the whispers of forsaken Devadasis throughout India Arun's journey took him to various corners of the country, each unveiling distressing tales of exploitation. In rural Karnataka, devadasis clung to their faith amidst intense exploitation, while in Kolkata, daughters were sold into sex work with no escape. In Vrindavan, widows seeking solace in serving God encountered devious predators, and in Puri, the last surviving devadasi reminisced about her time serving Lord Jagannath. These narratives highlighted the pervasive oppression of women, masked by the veils of religion, casteism, patriarchy, and abject poverty The book explores the Devadasi system in India, focusing on its transformation into a system of female exploitation

As the author exposes the dark realities hidden behind the facade of tradition and religion, "Sacred Sins" becomes a poignant call to action against the continued oppression of women in the name of sacred practices.

Tim Schwab, a seasoned author with contributions to renowned publications like The New York Times and The Nation, presents a compelling exploration in his latest work, "The Bill Gates Problem: Reckoning with the Myth of the Good Billionaire." In this incisive investigation, Schwab delves into the intricate web of philanthropy woven by Bill Gates and the Gates Foundation, unmasking the unchecked political influence wielded by the tech magnate under the guise of benevolence Schwab begins by dissecting the transformation of Bill Gates from a tech industry titan to a globally revered philanthropist Despite recent controversies and a tarnished public image, Gates remains shielded by the perceived altruism of the Gates Foundation Schwab, however, fearlessly exposes the darker facets of Gates's philanthropic endeavors, arguing that beneath the philanthropic facade lies a figure reminiscent of Gates's earlier role at Microsoft a domineering force imposing his ideas, solutions, and leadership on a global scale. The author skillfully dismantles the halo of invincibility surrounding the Gates Foundation, revealing how Gates's billions translate into unprecedented control over public policy, private markets, scientific research, and the media Schwab contends that Gates's seemingly charitable actions often inadvertently harm those he aims to assist, likening his philanthropic empire to a dangerous model of unchecked power that poses a threat to democracy and warrants public scrutiny Moving beyond the conventional narrative of a benevolent billionaire, Schwab challenges the reduction of Bill Gates to a simplistic caricature. The book highlights the complexity of Gates as a public figure and questions the implications of his philanthropic activities on a global scale.

As readers delve into Schwab's work, they are confronted with a challenging exploration of power, philanthropy, and their implications for society at large.

In Michael Wolff's latest offering, "The Fall: The End of the Murdoch Empire," the complex world of media mogul Rupert Murdoch takes centre stage. Wolff, known for his bold 'gonzo journalism' style, presents a sympathetic portrayal of Murdoch, depicting him as a frail patriarch manipulated by his children The narrative navigates through the intricacies of family dynamics, personal politics, and the challenges faced by Murdoch during the tumultuous era of the Donald Trump presidency While Wolff's prose is not overtly gushing about Murdoch, the book leans towards being a homage to the nonagenarian tycoon rather than a critical exploration of the family's major controversies Issues such as Dominion voting problems and phone hacking scandals take a backseat, overshadowed by the portrayal of Murdoch as a confused and somewhat pathetic figure. The book's timing, released just days after Murdoch stepped down from his role, fueled expectations of explosive revelations, but the real-life "Succession" story proved tepid, leaving many questions unanswered.

Wolff's 'gonzo journalism' style, reminiscent of Hunter Thompson, offers an insider's perspective into the Murdoch family and Fox News The book delves into the characters, particularly Murdoch's sons James and Lachlan, with deep sourcing and insider information However, the writing's repetitiveness and lack of concrete evidence to support character flaws weaken the impact The narrative often tells rather than shows, leaving gaps in the story and missing opportunities for a more convincing exploration of the Murdoch family dynamics. Despite these shortcomings, “The Fall: The End of the Murdoch Empire” provides valuable insights into the rise and fall of Fox News.

Wolff's engaging storytelling and access to key players make it a worthwhile read, shedding light on the inner workings of a media powerhouse and its profound impact on American democracy.

Khayaal Patel's "The Zamindar's Ghost" transports readers to the enigmatic town of Ooty in 1933, blending mystery, history, and the supernatural in a spellbinding narrative The protagonist, Arjun Rana, resurfaces after a presumed six-year demise, inheriting his father's role as the zamindar. As the town grapples with the aftermath of Arjun's return, Patel's storytelling prowess unfolds, vividly painting the atmospheric setting and introducing a cast of characters harboring hidden motivations The haunting narrative is woven around an ancient manor resonating with eerie whispers, perplexing deaths, and the ghostly presence of Zamindar Digvijay Rana Patel's descriptive flair brings these elements to life, creating a captivating blend of suspense and intrigue. The intricate web of characters adds depth to the tale, each with its own secrets and motivations that contribute to the overall complexity of the plot. As unexplained deaths grip the town, readers are thrust into a dichotomy of beliefs surrounding a potential spy or the ghostly specter of Zamindar Digvijay Rana. This tension keeps readers on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the unraveling of the mystery However, despite its engrossing premise, "The Zamindar's Ghost" exhibits occasional pacing issues, with rushed sections and underdeveloped plot points that detract from the overall narrative flow The novel delves into the societal issues faced by orphans, touching on themes of revenge, prostitution, and mafia connections However, these sensitive topics receive limited exploration, leaving readers wanting more depth and nuance. The toxic characters and their manipulative schemes dominate the story, with a lack of credible development in character motivations.

The atmospheric setting and complex characters contribute to the novel's allure, ensuring it remains a noteworthy read for those seeking a unique take on historical crime fiction.

Swati Narayan, an esteemed academic and activist, brings forth a compelling analysis in her latest work, "Unequal," published under the Context imprint of Westland Books In this groundbreaking comparison, Narayan delves into India's social development indicators about its

South Asian neighbours, debunking the notion of India as a superpower by exposing the multifaceted inequalities of caste, class, and gender that impede its progress In her book "Unequal: Why India Lags Behind Its Neighbours," professor and activist Swati Narayan claims that India is plagued by "systemic and, at times, barbaric inequalities." During five-year research in four nations India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal Narayan discovered that even poorer neighbours outperformed some Indian states on a variety of social variables such as health, education, nutrition, and sanitation. The narrative unfolds through Narayan's meticulous ground-level research and travels, offering insights drawn from a unique survey conducted across India (Bihar), Bangladesh, and Nepal Additionally, the book takes a deep dive into the success stories of Sri Lanka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu The author adeptly weaves together evidence on healthcare, education, nutrition, and sanitation, providing a panoramic view of the social landscape Narayan's comparative study reveals the surprising reality that India lags behind its ostensibly less affluent neighbours in crucial development indicators. Drawing inspiration from the successes of states like Tamil Nadu and Kerala, the author not only identifies the root causes of India's lag but also offers pragmatic solutions. The book advocates for governmental commitment to social welfare investments as a means to bridge social inequities and uplift the marginalised.

It not only sheds light on the stark realities of India's challenges but also offers a beacon of hope for a transformative future.

In "A Memoir of My Former Self and Other Writings," edited by Nicholas Pearson, Hilary Mantel's profound self-portrait emerges through diverse nonfiction pieces. This posthumous collection spans film reviews, Reith lectures on historical fiction, and reflections on Princess Diana's legacy, showcasing Mantel's keen insights and wit

From her experiences in Saudi Arabia to childhood memories and battles with illness, the compilation provides a multifaceted glimpse into her life. While the audiobook, featuring eight narrators, offers varied perspectives, a streamlined approach might have improved the overall flow. Nevertheless, the collection stands as a captivating testament to Mantel's intellectual prowess and compassionate spirit, leaving readers mourning the absence of her distinctive voice. The memoir showcases the diverse facets of Mantel's literary pursuits, amalgamating her writings from journals, newspapers, and public lectures From film reviews to book critiques, the collection encompasses the expansive scope of Mantel's output Of particular significance are her 1997 Reith lectures, delving into history, art, and literature The memoir not only celebrates Mantel's intellectual depth but also unveils the enduring impact of her endometriosis, which shaped her feminism as a response to medical misdiagnoses.

"A Memoir of My Former Self" positions Mantel at the core of her nonfiction narrative, drawing parallels with the literary presence of Jane Austen. Through an essay on Austen, Mantel explores the complexities of Austen's life and the regrettable loss of a humorous adaptation she was crafting. The collection paints a portrait of a writer's promiscuous existence, where myriad lives beckon, time is limited, and the imagination knows no bounds

While it may not match the personal touch of "Mantel Pieces," it reaffirms her unparalleled ability to dissect and reimagine, leaving readers to lament the loss of such a singular talent.

Diary of a Dreamer...

by Madhumathi H.

Untangling the toughest knots walking through thorny plants

When hope almost evaporated from my heart I heard voices that showered upon my soul Like rain upon parched summer Earth

''you showed me 'Silence', as colorful'' ''Just be with me defying distance, your presence is enough!''

''I see a Mom in you! you are precious to me!''

Soaked in their love, souls I have met just once Oh sweet serendipity! anchors, and home you gift

Being understood, on days when you feel numb

Being told, you make a difference

On days when you feel empty

No greater accomplishment, than being truly loved

No greater blessing than souls rooting for you

Hurdles, hurricanes, tunnels, labyrinth

Pain, pills, anxiety, guilt, frustration

Life's menu left me with no choice to say ''No''

Yet, art promised to be my cure, hope, windows and wings

My torn soul stitched, embroidered with strong threads of my dreams

Ecstasy to me, is a date with Nature, with a song

My eyes light up, when colors speak to my soul from paintings

Words wrap me in a cosy hug, every time I write, read Art, is the life jacket when adversity engulfs Wanderer, warrior, art handholds in whatever I want to be…

To leave heartprints, my healthy goal

My poems carry them being a voice, a mirror, a shoulder

From a new moonrise to a new sunrise Journey into a new year, will be journey into new moments

Joyfully weaving words, breathing art, being my authentic self

The year that we bid farewell to Strangled me often, but I still am here smiling

My bookshelf reminds, am born for more anthologies

New memories I’ll make.
