Welcome to the 2016–2017 edition of the annual Stonewall Columbus Lavender Listings – your “go to” business referral resource! The Lavender Listings is an important publication in our regional gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer community and Stonewall Columbus is proud to present this valuable instrument for the entire LGBTQ and Allies population of Central Ohio and beyond.

This year marks the 32nd year for Lavender Listings it is one of the few remaining LGBTQ & Allies business directories to be produced by a local LGBTQ advocacy organization.

Of course, in addition to our annual printed book, we are online too! The Lavender Listings website at www.lavenderlistings.com continues to increase in popularity and size. About Stonewall Columbus

About Stonewall Columbus Stonewall Columbus' mission is to foster the growth of strong, healthy and happy LGBTQ citizens within a broader Columbus community committed to the ideal that all people deserve to prosper and be free from discrimination and hate.

Founded in 1981, Stonewall Columbus has been a dynamic presence in the central Ohio community for 35 years, fighting for equality, fairness and safety for the entire gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer community. Stonewall Columbus operates the only LGBTQ community center in Central Ohio and serves the LGBTQ community by providing education, outreach, professional counseling, crisis intervention, referral programs social programs and services that enhance the well-being and visibility of our diverse community through discovery, affirmation and celebration.

Our community center also serves as a meeting place for a multitude of LGBTQ and Ally organizations throughout the city of Columbus including support groups, human rights advocacy groups, straight ally task forces, theater and arts organizations, public service organizations, athletic groups, LGBTQ health and HIV-positive support groups, religious groups and many more.

Stonewall Columbus is a fully inclusive community center that reaches all ages, income levels, minorities and religions in the LGBTQ community.

Stonewall Columbus plans, organizes and manages the annual LGBTQ Columbus Pride Festival each June. This is the 2nd largest Pride Festival in the Midwest attracting hundreds of thousands of participants from throughout the nation.

We strive to continually expand programming so that community members seeking a variety of services and activities – in addition to the base services and ongoing support groups we offer – can find ways to connect with others in a safe, comfortable and culturally enriching environment.

As the leading organization on LGBTQ issues in the Central Ohio area, we have made countless strides in educating the larger community, increasing social awareness, and collaborating on political advocacy by providing stronger programs, services, and alternative social activities. We are building on past accomplishments, developing sustainable systems and growth processes and focusing on strengthening not only our agency, but the Central Ohio LGBTQ and allied community by enhancing our community center.

Stonewall Columbus exists because of our strong partnerships with other agencies, our tireless supporters from across the region, and the many volunteers and community members that generously give of their time, talents, and support.

Through compassionate and intelligent planning, resource prioritization, and increased service delivery, Stonewall has consistently succeeded in reaching greater numbers of the LGBTQ and allied community in Central Ohio.

CLASSES Ballroom Dancing Class Classes for beginners and intermediate levels. Classes are held in six-week series.

Drawing and Painting with Paul Richmond Classes are held in six-week series which repeats. Join artist Paul Richmond for an open-studio art class at the Stonewall Center​ Exploring Meditation Participants explore how to find stillness within through mind/body awareness at their own level in a relaxed, lighthearted, welcoming atmosphere.

Yoga Class Yoga class for all levels. Classes are held in six-week series which repeats.

RECOVERY GROUPS Crystal Clear Crystal Meth Recovery & Support Group.

Gay, Joyous, and Free - Narcotics Anonymous A weekly support group of LGBTQ individuals who are struggling with and/or recovering from drug addiction.

SOCIAL GROUPS Girls Game Night All ladies over the age of 18 are welcome.

This group is a way to meet ladies outside of the bar scene. The group plays a variety of board and card games.

Stonewall Columbus Hiking Club Join our Stonewall Columbus Hiking Club and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature as we visit some of Central Ohio’s most scenic trails. There will be hikes for all levels of experience and fitness.

Stonewall Columbus Photography Club Expand your photographic knowledge and expertise by sharing your work with your peers at monthly meetings. Frequent group trips to interesting and photoworthy locations will be a part of the activities.

Stonewall Columbus Trailblazers – Our Age 50+ Program The Trailblazers is our program at Stonewall Columbus for LGBTQ Adults ages 50+, created through a gift from The Legacy Fund. Trailblazer events include seminars, The Trailblazer eNewsletter, and Social Outings.

Stonewall Columbus Trans Social Group A safe space for transgender identified individuals (transgender, genderqueer, gender non-conforming, intersex, gender fluid and gender questioning) to build community with peers through monthly social outings.

Women’s Book Club A primarily lesbian group with members from many backgrounds and ages.

Friendly, thought-provoking discussions on a range of topics, generally related to the month's book.

SUPPORT GROUPS Columbus Bi Network Group Columbus Bi Network intends to be a space for and resource to Central Ohio persons who are attracted to more than one gender.

Programs and Services LGBTA Grief Support Group This group was created to help members of our community process the loss of a partner, family member or chosen family member. Allies who have lost an LGBTQ family member are also welcome.

LGBTQ Veterans Support/Social Group The Stonewall Columbus LGBTQ Veterans program is a safe space for LGBTQ Veterans to build community through shared experience with peers at monthly social gatherings.

Men’s Coming Out Group Drop-in discussion group for men of all ages to share their issues with coming out and provide a place to meet others who may be going through the same transition or who have already come out.

TESTING - HIV & STI Free Rapid HIV Testing Equitas Health, in partnership with Stonewall Columbus, offers weekly HIV testing on Mondays at the Center on High, 1160 N. High Street. Walk-in Service – You Do Not Need an Appointment.

There is no charge for this testing.

Free Syphilis, Gonorrhea and Chlamydia STI Testing Testing provided by Columbus Public Health Department every Monday.

Upstairs at the Center on High, 1160 N. High Street.

Stonewall Columbus Trans Therapy Group Stonewall’s Transgender Therapy group is for those who identify as transgender, gender variant, gender queer, non-binary, or are questioning their gender identity.

The group is intended to provide a safe and therapeutic space to explore topics related to identity, transitioning, coming out, transphobia, relationships, mental health, and other relevant issues to the group.

THERAPY Stonewall Columbus LGBTQ Counseling Services Counseling is offered for youth, adults and families including an expansion of transgender services and groups. Priority is given to persons with no ability to pay and/or to persons who would qualify for sliding fee services.

The Stonewall Columbus Speakers Bureau is a peer-facilitated program that is designed to help different audiences learn more about lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) identities and experiences. Stonewall Columbus offers 60-90 minute presentations to any organization, business, church or school that would like to raise awareness about the local LGBTQ community and the history of the LGBTQ equal rights movement while exploring ways to be an effective ally in the workplace and one’s local community.
