Stone property news

Quarter 2 - 2019

In this edition of the Stone Property News we are looking at the past 6 months’ worth of property results through Aberdare, Kearsley, Elrington, Abernethy, Kitchener and East Cessnock. The Hunter Valley region and Cessnock in particular, continues to demonstrate steady growth for house prices despite what you may have heard over the past year around the housing and property sectors.

With cash & interest rates dropping to all-time lows, the election over and Scott Morrison suggesting a new first home buyers’ scheme, we have experienced far more positivity and activity in the marketplace. Furthermore, there have been no changes to capital gains tax and negative gearing which has cleared any doubts in the minds of property investors that have been sitting on the fence since early 2019 waiting for the election. APRA (Australian Prudential Regulation Authority) have also flagged lowering the interest rate buffer that is currently being applied to home loans which will not only help first home buyers’ but will alleviate some stress for existing homeowners, provide better access to lending across the board and will result in more active property seekers over the next 6-12 months. If you have been thinking of selling you could go in the running to win a “LUXURY ACCOMMODATION PACKAGE” to the Golden Door Health Retreat in the Hunter Valley with our “Spring into Spring” campaign!
