FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DESIGNS, DETAILS AND QUOTES
• Quite often designs and quotes can be worked out on the spot, which is great!

• On other occasions, we will take note of all the details discussed and come back to you by email with a hand drawn sketch or a Computer Aided Design (CAD) in order to ensure that you are happy with all the designs. These may be a few extra steps in the design process, but we definitely think it’s worth taking the time to get everything right! This design work will be done bearing in mind your budget, which is why it is very helpful to have a feeling for what budget you have in mind.
• Sometimes, once the order has been confirmed and the deposit paid, we may make a wax resin (or model) of your piece of jewellery in order to finalise exact design details and so that you can try it on. If, at this stage, any small design changes need to be made, this can be done.
• If new gold, or stones, are required for your new jewellery, it’s no problem for us to source them as necessary.
• Designs and quotes are worked out knowing that gold and rose gold can be melted down and reused. Different carats of gold can be mixed so, for example, we can melt a 9ct rose gold ring with an 18ct gold earring.
• Please note that platinum and white gold can’t be melted down (but they can be traded in – see more details on this here (link)). Silver can be melted down but it may make more economic sense to handcraft the new piece from new silver.
DESIGNS, DETAILS AND QUOTES (Cont’d)
• Any excess gold can be traded in and used as part payment for your remodelled jewellery. We may be able to advise you of possible approximate trade in values during your consultation or, if not, at the same time as quoting. The exact trade in value of excess metal will be confirmed when all the work is complete.
• Unfortunately, itisn’tpossibletotradeinunusedoldstonessothese will be returned to you when the work is finished.
WHILE WE’RE WORKING OUR MAGIC…
• It is time for you to sit back and relax! Once the order is confirmed and the 20% deposit paid, our highly trained goldsmiths will get to work. The lead time is generally 6 – 8 weeks.
• If you have a specific date, or occasion, that you would like your jewellery to be ready for, please let us know and we will bear this in mind as much as possible.
• If any questions arise while we are remodelling your jewellery, we will be in touch.
WHEN YOUR JEWELLERY IS READY!
• This is the most exciting part – we will email you to let you know when your remodelled jewellery is ready for collection.
• There is no rush from our end, so you can pop into the shop to collect it when suits you.
• The remaining balance is payable on collection. This can be done here in the shop or in advance by bank transfer or email invoice.
