Before Your Remodelling Consultation
- Remodelling consultations are by appointment only and can be booked here:
We are open Monday – Saturday and the good news is that there is no charge for your remodelling consultation.
- Before coming into the shop, gather your old jewellery that you are considering remodelling. This can include broken pieces, old chains and items that you haven’t worn for years.
- Have a think about what you would like, and what you would get most wear from – would you like a new ring? Or have you always wanted a pared back gold bracelet? You can browse our Gallery of Images (link) for ideas and inspiration. If a photo you’ve seen online has caught your eye, that will be helpful as an initial idea, although we don’t copy other makers’ designs. And please don’t worry if you don’t have any thoughts at all – we’ll be happy to go through options with you when we meet in person!
- Consider what approximate budget you have in mind – this will help us in relation to possibilities for your new piece of jewellery.
During Your Remodelling Consultation
• We love talking about and looking at jewellery! At the beginning of your consultation we will examine your stones and weigh your gold.
• We will also test your diamonds to confirm that they are what you hope they are. As it isn’t possible to re-cut diamonds or coloured gemstones, we will discuss options that are guided by the shape and size of any stones you may have.
• We’ll show you sample pieces and we can go through sketches and photos with you in order to clarify design details.
• We will take note of all the details discussed during the consultation, including finger sizes, chain lengths, etc.
• Should you choose to leave your old jewellery with us, please be assured that it is in good hands! We will email you a receipt which itemises the pieces of old jewellery left with us as well as summarising the designs discussed. While your pieces are with us, they will be in our safe and are covered by our insurance.
• The receipt will detail the carat gold of each piece you have. If the carat isn’t clear, we will be able to test your gold after the consultationandthen confirm the carat to you.
