Starting Apr. 1, all ticket types throughout the corridor, including one way, single round trip, 20 ride tickets, and monthly passes are available in the App Store and Google Play.

Education plays a vital role in the future economic prosperity of San Joaquin County, so a hands-on look at education was the perfect way to begin the day.

The day began with the class divided among 11 schools throughout Stockton. They spent the morning shadowing the principal, learning about their particular school, and their successes and challenges.

At lunchtime, the Leadership Stockton class gathered at the San Joaquin County Office of Education for the remainder of the day.

A working lunch covered some of the questions and revelations the class had based on their school site visits.

After lunch, the class got a guided tour of the SJCOE FabLab and all the fun things for kids to use to learn and play. Following the tour County Superintendent of Schools James Mousalimas welcomed the class and gave a quick overview of the SJCOE

Academy students joined the class and shared their story, what an amazing program.

After a short break, the class heard from Monica Filoso, Division Director, on Special Education and all the services SJCOE offers for those with special needs. Students from the Venture Academy Outstanding Leadership Team (VOLT) joined the class next.

What an impressive group of students! They talked about the Venture Academy Family of Schools and how they help to unite them all. The day ended with closing remarks from Associate Superintendent Troy Brown.

Humphreys University Reaps Benefits of Solar Investment In October 2017, Humphreys University switched on its recentlyconstructed 547 KW solar array, located over the east parking lot of its Stockton campus on the corner of Benjamin Holt Dr. and Inglewood Ave. The carport-style structure provides welcome shade, security lighting, and seasonal protection to cars from the elements. Most impressively, the array, comprised of more than one thousand individual solar panels, produced over 600 MWh of electricity in calendar year 2018, reducing the University’s utility costs nearly 60 percent.

To date, solar energy production of the system translates to equivalent environmental benefits of over 1.4 million pounds of saved CO2 emissions, or 37,000 trees planted. According to Dr. Robert G. Humphreys Jr., President, “Our investment in solar has not only allowed Humphreys University to achieve a greener and more sustainable campus, but it has also generated substantial cost savings, which benefit the entire Humphreys community. The project has been a win-win-win with Humphreys University, Stockton, and the environment.”

Constructed by Fresco Solar in conjunction with Senga Energy, the Humphreys University solar project provides nearly 100 percent of the Stockton campus’ electrical usage capacity.
