Leaving may mean moving on, but it doesn’t erase the connections, lessons, and experiences that have shaped you here SIS has been more than just a place of learning - it’s where you found your voice, built lasting relationships, and grew into the person you are today. This isn’t just a keepsake; it’s a record of the friendships, experiences, and achievements that we accomplished together Wherever you go, the impact of SIS will stay with you, guiding you through new opportunities and challenges
This year has also been pivotal for SIS as we continue to grow and evolve. Our transition to Norra Latin has opened new opportunities, bringing our school community closer together It has been wonderful to see our Primary School students visit Norra Latin to experience exhibitions of secondary students' work. As the venue for our winter concerts, the aula created a fresh and vibrant atmosphere, elevating these seasonal celebrations. Students, too, have embraced new initiatives - events like the Battle of the Bands not only showcased remarkable musical talent, but also strengthened the friendly rivalry among our houses
Beyond the classroom, our recreational spaces are developing We were thrilled to utilize the outdoor stage for UN Day, and soccer and basketball have become regular fixtures during breaks.

I encourage you to stay connected to SIS, no matter where life takes you. As alumni, you can offer mentorship, share experiences, and support future students in meaningful ways. Whether through advice, participation in events, or simply staying in touch, your connection to SIS will always matter The bonds between past, present, and future students keep our community thriving, ensuring its continued growth and vibrance. As you turn these pages, let this yearbook inspire you to remain a part of the SIS story. Stay involved, stay connected, and find ways to contribute to the community that has given so much to you
Having served as Director of SIS since 2018, I now have a growing collection of yearbooks, each a reminder of the students who have passed through these halls Looking back at them, I feel an immense sense of pride - watching young minds grow, discover your talents, and find your confidence, is the most rewarding part of my career.
So cherish this yearbook and look forward to the next chapter May it be as enriching, inspirational, and full of growth as the year that has just passed
María Isabel León April 2025

On Friday, March 28th, 27 girls from our school participated in Introduce-a-Girl-to-Engineering Day. This is a national event organized by Womengineer that aims to inspire girls to explore careers in engineering and technology.
11 students visited Atlas Copco, a global industrial company known for developing innovative tools, compressors, and industrial solutions. During their visit, the students created technical drawings, used virtual reality tools, and searched for pressure leaks in the compressor chamber in a 20m deep mine environment.

At the same time, 16 students took part in IGE Day at Xylem, a leading global water technology company that works to solve water-related challenges around the world. The students toured Xylem’s advanced water laboratories and carried out hands-on experiments focused on water purification, sustainability, and the science behind clean water.

After an introduction of Xylem and a tour through the labs, the girls were able to conduct water experiments. These events was organised by Mrs. Hascher, Mrs. Sasha and Mrs.Roseen.

For many members of the Erasmus+ Team Sweden, riding bicycles everywhere within the area was a new adventure and introduction to life in the Netherlands. Our topic for the Erasmus+ eTwinning mobility to Weesp, was ‘Traditions and Celebrations ’ We began getting to know each other by presenting and exchanging the traditions and celebrations of our countries. Due to being an international school, our team presented their national traditions, which expanded the team's understanding of over 6 cultures and traditions rather than just Swedish or Dutch Offering Swedish ‘godis’ while Mrs Anneli presented Sweden was a delight to all

Exploring Zaanse Schans, a neighb orhood along the Zaan River of traditional windmills (the oldest in the world is still in operation here), traditional Dutch architecture homes and industries in shades of green, a clog making factory, cheese factory and Dutch food shops and more. The teams set off on a scavenger hunt to find out ‘fun facts’ and historical facts before enjoying some Dutch pancakes, whether sweet or savory, or their p acked lunches.
To finish off our week of exploring and understanding Dutch culture, we cycled the winding roads to an organic farm where we were able to stroke calves and cows before learning to produce our organic cheese. Herbs and spices were added to the cheese mixture, some to perfection and some for an acquired taste. Everyone then cycled back home to prepare Dutch food or dessert for the potluck dinner we would enjoy together on our final evening. Further presentations of our cultures were presented before our palates were satisfied with a variety of Dutch treats As always, evening plans of meet-ups occurred again in local parks or football fields and off they rode away on their bicycles
The sunshine weather made cycling for miles all the more enjoyable over the week. While our days were bu stling with activity, the team members made sure to arrange further meet-ups in the evenings, and it was wonderful to see friendships blossom, especially within Team Sweden as they looked out for one another While some of us plan to dust our bikes out now that spring has come to Sweden, some members are happy to bid bicycle riding for this visit, goodbye or ‘doei’.

We were warmly welcomed by the school principal and the village's mayor before our teams showed their presentations about ‘Skills and Inabilities or Disabilities' which was our topic for this mobility It was about people who had overcome their ‘disability’ to become all that they could be and encouraged us to do the same. Some examples were Stephen Hawking, Helen Keller and Bethany Hamilton to name a few. The teams then discovered the village of Saint Laurent with a treasure hunt when the clouds opened up and everyone got drenched but their spirits remained strong.
The school buses of MFR drove us along green hills, cherry orchards and winding roads as we made our way to the Saint Laurent de Chamouset campus, which would be our home this week The students were shown their shared dorm rooms where we discovered some needed to learn how to make their beds, and luckily they were quick learners. The hallways and basketball court were soon full of activity and excited chatter and it was doubled when Team Netherlands arrived to join the three teams for the week.

Lyon, France

The principal arranged for his local Boules club members to lead a Boules tournament which was greatly enjoyed by everyone. A newfound respect to the game of Boules, a much loved sport in France.

As MFR schools are mainly vocational schools, it was time for the teams to get hands-on experience of learning by doing. Chopping wood with tools, driving a tractor and building their own phone holder. Let’s just say, we have all the more respect for those who can build or make things with their hands as it’s easier said than done. A walking tour of the nearby forests taught us about forestry and woodland management.

We discovered the city of Lyon through a guided walking tour by MFR’s Geography teacher, Paolo. We began our day with an amazing panoramic view of Lyon from the Fourvière Cathedrale before working our way down the winding paths through a park down to the cobblestone streets of the city. We were introduced to the ‘Traboule’, a type of secret covered passageways in buildings that became particularly famous for being used by the French Resistance. We discovered that Lyon was a stronghold of the French Resistance, led by Jean Moulin. Lyon was a fascinating city to explore, from history to nature as Lyon sits at the junction of the Rhône and Saône rivers (each river being a different colour that mixes at the junction). A lovely day out of history, culture and beauty (Not enough gastronomy due to lack of time!)

Lyon, France

We drove down the mountain to a valley of vineyards, grapes and farms to join the local community of MFR schools for a day of ‘MFR Olympics’. Our teams joined the other school students for a variety of activities, putting their French language skills and athletic skills to the test. This school was located in a former manor, historical and beautiful, with Art Nouveau architecture, which allowed Mr AI to teach us all the more about design. We ended the lovely day with dinner at a local restaurant where we enjoyed local cuisine to excite the palate. The noise level of excited chatter around the table was what makes these Erasmus+ mobilities all the more worthwhile.

Family members of the French students joined us for an evening of celebration of the year ’ s dedication of all teams and the lessons we had learnt. Many brought dishes from home, many bringing homemade cheeses, meats and more. Tears were shed as the slide shows of the various mobilities were presented and fond memories relived. It was time to close this chapter for this year ’ s eTwinning project and many farewells were shared as the French students left with their families. Team Sweden bid the Netherlands Team goodbye at the train station in France but reunited briefly in the train station in Amsterdam after we managed to return from a short tour of Amsterdam during our layover Once again, the excited shrieks and laughter at the brief reunion made running to the platform.

Our final day was spent rotating between workshops. Aromas filled the air as cooking and baking French dishes and desserts for the evening closing ceremony kept the kitchen bustling. Outdoors, science experiments took place complete with giant soap bubbles being released into the sunshine A graffiti artist called Tony stenciled a mural in the student lounge that represented the Netherlands, Sweden and France, which the teams got to fill in with spray paint and step back and admire with pride at the finished product.
