How Adventurers Choose Travel Insurance
Simply the act of traveling might inspire you to try something that you’ve never done before. Bungee jumping in New Zealand. Snowboarding in Zermatt. Rock climbing in Croatia. These are the experiences that make you feel like you can accomplish anything (and maybe you’ll even brag a little when you get home!). But they’re also activities that may not be covered by your travel insurance plan if you get injured. Just as you’d wear protective gear to be as secure as possible when pursuing these activities, you’ll want to plan ahead with adventure sport coverage. Ask us about how to navigate tiered packages or choose an add-on to an existing plan so you can have the peace of mind to live your best life.

CARNIVAL IS COMING UP!
When Carnival takes over the streets of Rio de Janeiro, it’s a celebration you won’t want to miss. Discover how you can be part of the events from February 28 through March 8, 2025. Planning to go to Brazil another time of year? We can also arrange an exclusive Carnival-themed excursion that takes you backstage at Rio’s most renowned samba schools.

TIME FOR A MINI WORLD CRUISE?
Even if it’s not the right time for a cruise around the world, it’s not too late to sign up for part of the experience. World Cruise segments are open for bookings in 2025, 2026 and 2027, so you can experience a corner of the globe on a schedule that works for you. Consider choices like 13 nights on Silversea between Stockholm and Reykjavík, 19 nights aboard Crystal exploring Australia and Indonesia, or a Princess® voyage of 15 nights between Barcelona and London.

WHY GREENLAND IS THE STAR OF 2025
Our experts on the ground are so excited about Greenland that we have to spill the secret. Between the North Atlantic Ocean and the Arctic Sea, this ice-covered island was once beyond the reach of most travelers. Now, luxury expedition cruises are making their way to the most remote shores to show you a land unlike any other. Learn about Viking lore in Nuuk, see how Inuit people have long lived off the land in Ittoqqortoormiit and walk over one of the world’s largest ice fjords in Ilulissat. We know you have questions, so reach out anytime.

ASK OUR EXPERTS
our experts share their insights into getting the most out of your travels.

The rewards of traveling with your young kids will far outweigh any potential challenges.
Just like your kids have given you a whole new appreciation for local playgrounds and parks, you can do the same for them with destinations that are farther from home. Consider this a golden opportunity to return to your favorite place and see it through their eyes. Or to bring your extended family together in a place that’s new to all of you. When they’re older, you’ll be able to remind them of the way their eyes lit up inside their first pâtisserie in Paris or how they exclaimed how clear and blue the Caribbean Sea is.
You never know which memories will stick out for them or which “firsts” your child will experience on vacation. Maybe
’’
Should I travel with my kids while they’re still young?
’’
they’ll take their first steps in a different country or say their first words to a new friend they met just hours ago.
Getting comfortable with travel logistics is a great way to set yourself up for success in the years to come. Familiarize them with activities like navigating airport security, sleeping in a hotel room, or getting on and off a cruise ship.
We can help you choose which vacation makes sense for you — whether it’s just you and the little ones or you’re bringing the whole family along, grandparents included! For example, an all-inclusive resort can eliminate the stress of planning and budgeting around meals and activities. Certain resorts like Club Med and Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana aren’t just family friendly, they’re baby and toddler friendly! Ask us
about babysitting services and kids clubs in various resorts. Cruising is another hasslefree way to explore with tailored onboard activities and shared experiences over mealtime and excursions. Disney Cruise Line is naturally made for families, but we can also point you toward other options that families love, like Royal Caribbean and Princess. A seasoned tour guide will also know how to engage kids — like arranging a museum scavenger hunt or pointing out wildlife at their eye level that you might never have spotted yourself.
Give us a call or send an email with your specifics. We can also arrange details like renting a stroller, reserving a crib, booking a family suite or adjacent rooms with kitchenettes, or even securing a private car and driver in your favorite cities around the world.

TRAVEL WITH PRIDE
South Africa has a long history of protecting LGBTQ+ rights, including being the world’s first country to constitutionally prohibit sexual orientation–based discrimination. Every year, Cape Town hosts one of the largest Pride events in South Africa — and it’s going global, with the recent announcement that Cape Town has been chosen as the host city for WorldPride 2028. The destination’s commitment to diversity is demonstrated through inclusive bars, clubs, hotels, and more in cities like Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban.
CHAMPIONING EQUALITY
In order to work toward a more inclusive future, South Africa acknowledges and learns from its past. Visit historical sites from the Apartheid-era that have been transformed into museums dedicated to telling the story of South Africa’s “long walk to freedom,” such as the Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg and the District Six Museum in Cape Town. Former prisons Constitution Hill and Robben Island have also been turned into impactful museums.

Community-based tourism immerses you in the joy and richness of different cultures while contributing to the well-being of the communities that welcome you. What does “integrated wellness” mean at Miraval?
Honoring the triad of mind, body and spirit is the bedrock on which we’ve built our programming.
What does going out of your comfort zone look like for guests?
Authentic growth happens outside of comfort. We work with several disciplines — everything from outdoor adventure to fitness, yoga and meditation. Creative expression can be one of the biggest doorways to walk through because it’s so accessible — even something as simple as working with clay.
Sustaining Wellness
As the director of integrated wellness at Miraval Berkshires Resort and Spa, Luke Bloom is deeply familiar with wellness trends that come and go. His focus is encouraging people to have profound moments that have a lasting impact.

What are some trends guests have gravitated to recently?
Trends come and go very quickly. People are trying to find simplicity in their wellness practice: connection to nature, being focused on community and creative expressions.
Do you go on wellnessfocused vacations?
My wife and I have two teenage boys, and we find ourselves going to nature-inspired places. We love whitewater rafting in the Grand Canyon and West Virginia. In Costa Rica, instead of traveling all around the country, we stayed in one location and did day trips to go zip lining, sailing and surfing.
What advice would you give someone who might be intimidated by a wellness resort?
If you come here and learn a breathing technique, you may be able to practice that pause the next time you’re in a conflict. That’s the kind of thing you can learn at a wellness resort in a protected space. If you’re looking for a transformative experience — long after you leave the protective bubble of our resort — then it’s well worth the investment in yourself.

Bypass the Drake Passage for a direct path to Antarctica with Silversea.
Antarctica is so much closer than you think! With Silversea’s Fly & Cruise journeys, nothing is stopping you from exploring the world’s most storied continent.
But first, some history.
At the south of Cape Horn — where the southwestern Atlantic and southeastern Pacific oceans meet — the Drake Passage has always been connected to this expedition of a lifetime. The first person to cross this unpredictable passage was a Dutchman named Willem Schouten in 1616 — and despite its name, Sir Francis Drake himself never sailed these waters! (He took the Strait of Magellan.)
Today, modern ships are capable of safely navigating the Drake Passage
over the course of two days, even when the water is most challenging. Yet Silversea has optimized the polar expedition experience even further: by flying comfortably from Punta Arenas into the heart of the otherworldly beauty of Antarctica.
Fly & Cruise With Antarctica Bridge
Arrive at the Last Continent where only the most intrepid explorers once dared to reach. Fly directly from Punta Arenas to the rugged shores of King George Island, where you’ll be escorted onto your luxury ship.
With members of the Silversea Expedition Team deftly leading you on Zodiacs, you’ll be greeted by awe-inspiring views at every turn.
Frozen sheets crackle and shear from mammoth glaciers, and icy cathedrals soar before you.
Meet the hardy wildlife that thrives around this continent of ice — humpbacks leap straight out of the clear waters and massive colonies of penguins of every species waddle, jump and dive spectacularly for their next meal. Active excursions bring you closer to nature’s majesty than you could possibly imagine as you kayak next to glaciers and greet curious marine life.
In Earth’s last great wilderness, natural elements are constantly shifting. Silversea’s expeditioners have dedicated their lives to

charting out arrival points; guides are adept at understanding where and when you can safely arrive and what sights may unfold before you. Onboard naturalists, biologists, historians, and geologists prepare you for every onshore excursion, sharing insights possessed only by experts who are intensely passionate about their fields.
Choose from 6- to 15-night expedition cruises to the White Continent on board Silver Endeavour, Silver Wind or Silver Cloud. We’ll help arrange your arrival in Santiago, Chile, provide complimentary expedition gear, and secure your charter flight to Punta Arenas where the adventures begin.

December to February
The sun shines for 24 hours during the austral summer, when you’ll likely see baby chicks hatching and whales migrating into surrounding waters.

February to March
Even as the days start to shorten, this is considered peak season for whale watching and seeing robust penguin rookeries.

Amid this unspoiled scenery, keep your eyes open for Peale’s dolphins that may swim alongside your ship and seabirds looking down from above.
CRUISING CAPE HORN

This legendary route leads you toward views of glaciers that rise before you and jagged icebergs whose enormity is shrouded by frigid waters.

JOURNEY TO THE FROZEN CONTINENT
Did you know that it’s perfectly normal to dine at 10 p.m. in South America? With Princess More Ashore overnight stays, you get the chance to experience local life long after the sun sets and other ships have departed. As you sail through the world’s final frontier, you’ll feel a rush of exhilaration watching chiseled chunks of ice floating past your window and noticing how the deep blue of the water aligns with the gleaming white tundra. See the ice sculptures of Gerlache Strait from the warmth and comforts of your stateroom or on your private balcony. GENERATIONS IN THE
Galápagos
National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions has perfected expedition cruising.

In 1967, carrying suitcases filled with Chilean pesos — or so the story goes — Lars-Eric Lindblad traveled to Valparaíso and chartered a simple ship to set sail for the Galápagos Islands. This audacious voyage carried the first group of international “citizen explorers” to the remote archipelago immortalized by Charles Darwin.
Lindblad’s personal vision made it possible for generations of travelers like you to experience the unique flora and fauna that has captivated scientists for decades. Today, that legacy continues with National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions.
Look for blue-footed boobies doing their flamboyant dance. Snorkel with sea lions, penguins and tropical fish in equatorial waters. Giant tortoises feast on leaves in the highlands, and fur seals sunbathe on rocky shores, along with a million more captivating scenes. Every day promises moments like these where you’ll gasp in wonder, elbowing the person next to you to make sure they get to share in that very moment.
Geographic Gemini and National Geographic Delfina will begin sailing in spring 2025 after multimillion-dollar revitalizations, joining National Geographic Endeavour II and National Geographic Islander II, all sailing the archipelago year-round.
With so many options, you can pursue your dreams of visiting the Galápagos Islands no matter how you like to travel. Maybe you’re a globe-trotting couple set on seeing every corner of the world, a solo birder eager to fill your portfolio, or a family that spans generations chartering a 16-passenger catamaran. To enhance your whole experience, naturalists, photographers and other veteran guides — many of whom are Galapagueños — are always nearby to impart their wisdom.

If you’ve been waiting for just the right time to go, this is it. National GeographicLindblad Expeditions is expanding its Galápagos fleet to four ships: National

Down to Earth
A journey in Australia creates powerful connections to the land.

In every corner of the continent, you’ll always be reminded: This is Australia. The essence of this land appears in every adventure you pursue — in local cuisine that’s influenced by homegrown ingredients; among Indigenous cultures that are the oldest living in the world; in encounters with wildlife that you can’t find anywhere else; and around breathtaking natural wonders from the Outback to the coast with mountains and rainforests in between.
If you’ve always thought of Australia as a “someday” dream, now is your time to bring it to life. A highly favorable exchange rate means your U.S. dollar will stretch further. Say “g’day” to friendly locals and get inspired by their adventurous spirit. While we handle the details of your travel throughout the country, you’ll spend each moment falling deeper in love with this wild and wonderful land.

When do you want to go?
The beauty of Australia is that it has such a broad range of climates that you can go almost any time of year and have an incredible experience (just remember it’s the Southern Hemisphere so the seasons are flipped). The big cities like Sydney and Melbourne enjoy all four seasons, while the tropics of Queensland see hotter temperatures from November to March and cool off during the dry months between April and October. Across the arid interior, peak travel season falls between May and October.

Ellery Creek Big Hole, West MacDonnell National Park, Northern Territory, Australia
WILD ABOUT VICTORIA
On any journey to Australia, the state of Victoria and its capital of Melbourne should rise to the top of your list. A perfect place for those with limited — or unlimited — time, it’s a destination to discover Australia’s cultural heart and beauty.
After spending a few days investigating Melbourne’s museums, exciting events and inventive culinary scene, nearby natural wonders await. In under two hours, you can road-trip your way along the Mornington Peninsula, a beloved seaside
escape where the locals go to enjoy life’s little luxuries. Unwind on the beach and paddle through inland reservoirs and sparkling bays that shape this swath of land. Sip your way through boutique winery cellar doors and award-winning restaurants serving epicurean delights from locally celebrated winemakers and chefs. The pleasures unfold as you play on celebrated golf courses, rejuvenate in hot springs and relax in mineral spas.
Return to Melbourne or take a a short ferry trip to the Bellarine and the start

QUEENSLAND’S CURIOSITIES

Drenched in sunshine all year round, Brisbane — Queensland’s vibrant capital — is getting the attention it deserves: The city was one of only two Australian destinations to be named on The New York Times’ 52 Places to Go in 2024. Its subtropical climate invites you to spend as much time as possible outdoors, whether you’re biking along the Brisbane River or cooling off at Streets Beach — a lagoon-front oasis in the center of the city. Stroll open-air farmers markets and take a tour of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mount Coot-tha, where a native Australian rainforest is among the many thriving ecosystems.
Brisbane is poised to have its moment in the global spotlight as the host of the 2032 Summer Olympics. Get ahead of the crowds now to experience the citywide Olympic preparations, highlighted by newly opened The Star Brisbane, located in the brand-new Queen’s Wharf precinct, where you’ll find grand dining, entertainment and hotels rising above the river. For nearly a decade, locals have been anticipating this addition to the city’s skyline, and now you can visit this only-in-Brisbane attraction. Head straight to the Sky Deck, soaring more than 300 feet in the air, as you unwind from day to night at any of three venues — the open-air bar at Cicada Blu, dining at Babblers or the signature restaurant Aloria.

Your relationship with the outdoors grows even stronger as you explore beyond the city’s limits. Just a few miles from Brisbane’s city center is Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, where a new nocturnal walking tour shows how Australia’s most famous wildlife — including koalas, wombats and Tasmanian devils — rouse themselves come nightfall.
Traveling north along the coast from Brisbane opens up an ocean of adventures. Watch the majestic whales that congregate at Hervey Bay on the Queensland coast. Take the ferry to K’gari (once known as Fraser Island) to spend a night or longer at Kingfisher Bay Resort — an idyllic eco-resort integrated into the national landscape.

From Bundaberg, you can see the miracle of turtles hatching at Mon Repos Conservation Park. Farther up the coast, Townsville is the gateway to the marvelous Museum of Underwater Art — a series of sculptures in the shallows of the Great Barrier Reef created by artist Jason deCaires Taylor.
Cairns is your base for more adventures, like a day trip or overnight stay on Wunyami (Green Island) — an ancient coral cay where you can immerse yourself in authentic Indigenous cultural tours. Nearby Daintree National Park is the world’s oldest tropical rainforest, filled with richly diverse flora and fauna.

TASMANIA
AUSTRALIA’S ISLAND STATE
The secret is out. Tasmania was named one of The New York Times’ 52 Places to Go in 2024, as well as Condé Nast Travelers’ prestigious Best Places to Go 2024.
Starting in Hobart, nature’s most stunning attractions are always within sight. Kunanyi/ Mount Wellington towers above the city and is an easy place to hike, ride or play in the snow. The city’s dining scene is also a foodies’ paradise with menus playing off seafood sourced from the Tasman Sea (hint: scallop pie is a tried-and-true favorite), locally produced cheeses and a variety of cooler-climate Tasmanian wines. As a prime region for premium ingredients like saffron, truffles and Tasman sea salt, every meal is locally sourced, and straight from the sea, or farm to table.
As you explore farther from the city, Tasmania’s wild and untouched treasures await your arrival. Take a journey to the eastern coastline to Freycinet National Park, home to both the curved shores of Wineglass Bay and the pink-granite Hazards range. Create a deeper connection to Tasmania’s Aboriginal heritage in a four-day immersive experience climbing

to the summit of wukalina/Mount William and along the coastline with overnight stays in timbered huts. In fact, TIME magazine named this walk on its World’s Greatest Places list in 2024.
You’ve heard of the northern lights, but what about the elusive southern lights? Tasmania is one of the few places you can see the aurora australis, the ethereal dance of colorful lights in a darkened night sky.

CANBERRA
DESIGNED TO BE DIFFERENT
One of few designed capital cities in the world, Canberra is strategically located between Australia’s two largest cities, Sydney and Melbourne. Today, Canberra is a perfect blend of pristine wilderness and cultural attractions that tell the many stories of this ancient region.
Amid its booming dining scene and rich wine culture, the city is also home to 12 of the country’s most iconic cultural sites. From the Australian Parliament House to the National Museum of Australia, each landmark offers different
perspectives of the nation’s past and present.
Rooted in Aboriginal legacies, ancient cultures are honored deeply. In the National Gallery of Australia, admire the world’s largest collection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art — more than 7,500 works in all. Walk through galleries where contemporary Aboriginal artists put their handicrafts and art on display, and join a guided tour to learn about this region and the traditional custodians of the land.
Surrounded by forested mountains and nature reserves, Canberra is known as the bush capital of Australia. In the heart of this thoughtfully developed city you’ll find gentle urban walking loops, while a wildlife-filled network of wetlands, forest and woodlands is just 45 minutes away at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve.

SOLAR MAXIMUM
The northern lights are brighter than ever in Canada’s winter wonderland.
Northern lights, Yukon, Canada
DID YOU KNOW?
Much of Canada’s North lies beneath the auroral oval, where the aurora borealis manifests itself with the deepest intensity.

Once in about 11 years, a celestial event known as the solar maximum takes over the skies. As the sun’s magnetic activity peaks, sunspots multiply and magnetic field lines create bursts of energy. Solar flares and coronal mass ejections shoot forth energized particles that can reach Earth’s magnetic field, colliding with the gasses in our atmosphere. Against a clear and dark night sky, the northern
lights (aurora borealis) begin to dance in a brilliant kaleidoscope of bright green, red, blue, and purplish hues.
That time is now, and the place is Canada. The lights that appear are brighter, more fiery and more frequent than we’ve seen in over a decade, and we can arrange a multitude of ways to experience them in all their dazzling beauty.
Canada’s wide-open skies and long, dark nights create the very best conditions to see the events at their peak. Explore far from city lights in the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Manitoba where seasoned guides can escort you to the biggest and brightest points. Pair this nighttime wonder with an exhilarating outdoor activity, or cozy up in the warmth of a heated viewing area.

The Yukon
With points that lie just beneath the auroral oval, this northwestern region is a prime spot to see the lights. Bright spectacles can appear anytime between late August and mid-April. Winter’s longer, darker nights are prime time, but you can get a good show in late summer and fall.
Arrive in snowy Whitehorse or surround yourself in the history of Dawson City on a guided multinight tour. A visit to Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Traditional Territory reveals rich culture through the eyes of a local artist and storyteller, and a beginner snowmobile tour will thrill you to your core. Nighttime is reserved for awe-inspiring excursions to a heated yurt, away from the city lights, for a private viewing of the northern lights against the wintry sky.
If a spa resort is more your style, let us design a Yukon adventure that includes a stay at the Northern Lights Resort & Spa. Put on a pair of snowshoes to explore by day, or learn the art of dog sledding along with an expert guide. Nightly aurora viewing excursions are a part of the experience, as well as access to the resort’s spa area with its Finnish sauna, infrared sauna and relaxation room.

Snowmobile tour, Yukon, Canada

Northwest Territories
This is one of the best places in the world to see the northern lights — visible for up to 240 nights a year! Mid-November through early April are peak times, but you’ll also have luck from late summer to early fall.
Bundle up for this tour into the icy wilderness, where the remoteness of this region lends itself to unpredictable adventures and absolutely breathtaking views. Watch the nighttime sky from a steaming hot tub or from a solidly frozen lake where a million stars seem to envelop you from every direction. Spend your days learning photo tips, go fat biking along wooded trails and meet with local Inuits who share
their traditions of living off the land. Yellowknife, which sits in the auroral zone, is home to the Indigenous-owned Aurora Village, where wood stove–heated teepees offer a comfortable place to recline and see the lights above.
Churchill, Manitoba
Beluga whales in summer, polar bears in fall and northern lights in winter? Churchill, Manitoba, is a dream destination on the edge of the Arctic. January through March are the peak months to see the lights in this region.
Getting to Churchill is part of the experience, as there are no roads that lead there. Take the train or fly from Winnipeg to the shores of the
Hudson Bay, where every day brings a different adventure. Capture inspirational photographs of polar bears shrouded by the snow and ice, admire time-worn Inuit carvings and artifacts, and listen to lectures about the Manitoba landscape from insightful experts. An evening snowshoe adventure through the boreal forest reveals the northern lights streaming overhead. At the Churchill Northern Studies Centre, you’re welcome to wear your pajamas in a heated dome or venture outdoors to an elevated viewing platform. Other private excursions might invite you into an exclusive Aurora Pod® with a 360-degree angle of the night sky. Or venture out on a Tundra Buggy® across the frozen river for an incredible culinary experience under a dancing sky.

A Tale of Two
Québec City
As you walk down Québec City’s snow-dusted historic streets lined with spruce and aglow in lamplight, feel the magic of winter at every turn.
In Québec City, the enchantment of the winter season follows you everywhere you go. Experience the city’s joie de vivre at the 10-day Quebec Winter Carnival — the world’s largest winter carnival and home to intricate life-size snow and ice sculptures. Stay until sunset to step inside the Ice Palace of Bonhomme where you can see it glow from within and experience an electrifying night parade, where you’ll groove to electro and rock music while you view astounding circus feats and dance numbers.
Enjoy ice skating at Place D’Youville, where Québec City’s idiosyncratic architecture and picturesque winter weather are on full display.

Experience the thrill of a century-old slide on Québec City’s iconic Dufferin Terrace, next to the world-famous Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. Afterward, let us plan a visit to the idyllic Moment Spa Le Château Frontenac to rejuvenate your body and soul while appreciating the stunning view of the St. Lawrence River.
Warm your hands and your spirit with authentic French-Canadian cuisine. Devour a plate of poutine (French fries topped with cheese curds and gravy), one of Canada’s most iconic dishes, or head

to Sagamité for a vibrant atmosphere and its signature soup, a mix of the “three sisters” — squash, corn and red beans — simmered in broth.
After a fun-packed day, let us plan your getaway to the mesmerizing Hôtel de Glace, an ice hotel just 20 minutes from the city center. With 30 rooms, 35,000 tons of snow and a new theme inspiring the architecture every year, you’ll experience the ephemeral beauty of this unique architectural innovation.

FROM PACKING TO PORTS: Your Alaska Questions Answered
Life may not come with a lot of guarantees, but your Holland America Line voyage certainly can. Whether you’re considering a cruise for the first time or are finally putting your dreams of Alaska at the forefront — every voyage is full of promise and possibilities.
WHEN SHOULD I RESERVE A CRUISE TO ALASKA?
Let’s dive right in! Alaska voyages are super popular, so we recommend reserving your spot as soon as you feel ready. These cruises are seasonal (May through September) and tend to fill up quickly, especially during the warm summer months. We can book your stateroom or suite as far out as a year or more.
WHAT KIND OF CLOTHING SHOULD I PACK FOR EXCURSIONS?
You’ll experience everything from breezy days on a whale-watching trip in Juneau to warmer hikes in Ketchikan’s forest sanctuary. We suggest bringing lightweight, moisture-wicking clothing as a base layer, a warm fleece or jacket, a hat, a waterproof layer, and sturdy shoes.
HOW SHOULD I DRESS FOR DINNER?
Holland America Line is all about smart casual in The Dining Room and in specialty restaurants like Tamarind and Pinnacle Grill. You’ll want to plan for an elegant evening at Morimoto By Sea — the first stand-alone restaurant at sea by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto — now open on Nieuw Amsterdam and as a pop-up on other vessels. Dressy Nights are your chance to put on your very finest.
WILL I SEE GLACIERS IN ALASKA?
Alaska’s majestic rivers of ice are such an important part of this journey that it’s a guarantee! Holland America Line’s Glacier Guarantee™ promises if you don’t visit an Alaska glacier on your voyage, you’ll receive a Future Cruise Credit equal to 15% of your cruise fare. And here’s some insider knowledge: Holland America Line has more permits to visit Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve than any other cruise line.
WHAT KIND OF WILDLIFE WILL I SEE?
From moose encounters at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center to tracking the Big 5 in Denali National Park and Preserve, Holland America Line is a leader in wildlife excursions. In fact, there’s a Wildlife Spotting Guide on your journey who points out the native animals along the way. Listen for daytime announcements when you can rush to the deck to catch sight of a bobbing whale or an eagle soaring overhead.

In
Charleston, South Carolina, every season is worth celebrating. 4
Seasons of perfection
Summer
The Charleston area is surrounded by five beaches and miles of pristine shoreline, inviting you to make the most of the coast. Isle of Palms is perfect for summertime favorites like relaxing, splashing in the water, fishing, and surfing. A short drive from downtown Charleston, Folly Beach is an endearingly quirky town with locally owned stores, vibrant culture and water sports. While you’re here, relish the rhythms of the Summer Concert Series, a collection of familyfriendly evenings on the Grand Lawn of The Sanctuary.
Fall
There’s no better way to experience the beauty of the season than the Charleston area’s stately parks and historic homes and gardens. Spend an afternoon getting lost in miles of garden trails at Cypress Gardens, or dig into Charleston’s history with a visit to Rainbow Row, a row of pastel-colored historic homes. For an action-packed adventure, celebrate a variety of African American and Caribbean arts at the MOJA Arts Festival, or attend one of Charleston’s many fall fests.
Winter
During the holiday season the whole town twinkles and is adorned with garlands and holly. The crowds are lighter than during other seasons, so you can enjoy the city’s festive cheer. Enjoy your own little slice of the North Pole with ice skating at the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina, and discover offerings like winter shops, visits with Santa and a holiday sand sculpture at the Holiday Festival of Lights. A visit to Charleston Restaurant Week in mid-January is a perfect opportunity to savor the region’s authentic Lowcountry cuisine.
Spring
Experience Charleston in full bloom with a springtime visit. See why many of the big names in golf frequent the Kiawah Island Golf Resort, a championship course with incredible views of the coast. Other well-known golf courses include Wild Dunes and the Links at Stono Ferry. The 17-day Spoleto Festival brings a variety of artistic performances, including opera, theater and dance, and music ranging from symphonic and chamber to choral, jazz and folk. Springtime also provides the perfect weather to visit the area’s most well-known attractions, like the Gibbes Museum of Art or the South Carolina Aquarium.

Northern Lights to the Midnight Sun
No need to chase wonders when Hurtigruten can deliver you right to them.
Norway’s dazzling spectacles shine brightly in all four seasons. Hurtigruten, which has been sailing this coastline for over 130 years, invites you to embrace the philosophy of friluftsliv — a Nordic term meaning “open-air living” and creating harmony with the natural world.
Gleaming fjords such as Hjørundfjord and Nærøyfjord offer a serene backdrop to your intimate voyage. Each day reveals new marvels as you gaze upward at steep granite cliffs brushed with rich greenery and marked by waterfalls tumbling from impossible heights.
There’s no wrong time of year to enjoy all this beauty. During summer months, the Midnight Sun gives you endless daylight to explore the richest corners of Norway. Winter’s darkness creates the ideal conditions for the colorful glow of the aurora borealis. Outdoor adventures are a treat any time of year, whether you’re kayaking along Ålesund’s waterways, snowshoeing in Tromsø, or learning about ancient Viking lore and indigenous Sámi culture.
You’ll be presented with one opportunity after another to understand the local way
of life. Eighty percent of your onboard cuisine is sourced locally, showcasing regional delights like award-winning cheeses from a Lofoten dairy farm and craft beer from a Bergen brewery. Fjord-to-table dishes celebrate traditional favorites like savory rakfisk fish and authentic lefse flatbread.
We will reserve a memorable voyage that allows you to explore based on your preferences. Call us, send us an email or visit our website — found on the back cover — and enter offer m27870

PROMISES OF THE NORTHERN LIGHTS
If you sail with Hurtigruten on the Norwegian coast during the aurora season (September 20 through March 31) on a voyage of 11 nights or more and the lights don’t appear within sight of your ship, you’ll receive a five- or six-night Original Coastal Express voyage for free! Restrictions may apply.

four fulfilling experiences with Europe
Express.
There’s the old tradition of rapidly sightseeing through Europe, but we’re big believers in slower-paced immersion. Alongside the experts at Europe Express, we’re here to craft private itineraries that take you far past the scenery and into the heart of each destination.

Lingering in the Loire Valley
Whisking you straight from Paris to the Loire Valley, your private English-speaking guide knows all the famous attractions. Drive toward architectural masterpieces such as Château de Chambord and Château de Blois, and make your way to the medieval town of Amboise. Enrich your journey with an overnight stay, creating more time to wander the cobblestone roads and see the château where Leonardo da Vinci spent his final years.
Sailing in Santorini
What better way to soak up the laidback ambience of the Greek islands than on a leisurely sail? On a private cruise, float over the tranquil waters of Santorini’s caldera — timed perfectly to give you the best view of the sunset. Lie back in a hammock-style net and watch vibrant colors stream across the sky as the crew prepares a gourmet meal.

Explore Your Passion for Port
Spend an exhilarating day off-roading in a 4x4, rolling over hills and arriving in Portugal’s famed vineyards. This region is so renowned for its viticulture that it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site, ripe with spectacular views of terraced vineyards. Enjoy a picnic followed by tastings of treasured port wines.
A Day on the Pelješac Wine Trail
Jutting into the Adriatic Sea, the peninsula of Pelješac has made its mark by producing Croatia’s most famous red wines. Savor these robust wines in boutique vineyards and cellars, paired with local delicacies that are unique to the region. A seafood feast celebrates the peninsula’s treasured Ston oysters that possess a distinctive flavor thanks to the region’s mineral-rich waters.
