who single-handedly raised over €100,000 for the charity through ten enjoyable annual golf classics. Much-loved Donabate member Noel passed away 18 months ago and it was his wish that his family and friends carry on his fundraising efforts for the charity. 120 golfers and friends of the charity teed off in 30 teams to support the second sun-kissed annual memorial event at Donabate Golf Club last week, resulting in over €14,000 being collected for the charity this year. “The classic was originally organised by Noel from Grange Park, to raise funds for his son Kevin’s residential home at Sallowood, Santry Avenue, and Castle Day Service, which he attends in Coolock,” said his son Darren. “We, and many other families like us, are indebted to St Michael’s House for the work that they do.

Newsletter Warrenhouse Adventures Staff from our Warrenhouse service recently completed several hikes in hopes of fundraising for a new bus. Staff members Katarzyna, Ashling, Ciara and Niall summited Slieve Binnian. It was a challenging hike because of the weather conditions: It was very cloudy and the paths weren't visible, but they made it!
Corporate Champion Volunteers New this year, our Corporate Champion Volunteers programme was completely revamped, making a difference to a number of different services! We had over 20 different companies volunteer their time to making the St Michael’s House services a better place to spend time in. Between painting and gardening, the results have been amazing! Supported Employment Programme Our Supported Employment team had a fab time visiting Mastercard Headquarters recently, providing Disability Awareness Training to their staff. A huge thanks to service user Gary who came out to share his experiences working at Google for the last five years!

Newsletter IRFU at Belcamp Our Belcamp Service was lucky enough to have the Rugby Six Nations and Triple Crown Trophies pay them a visit recently. Everyone had the best time posing with the trophies. It was perfect timing as well, as everyone was rooting for Ireland in the Rugby World Cup!
Changing Gears- Lets Talk About Getting Older Changing Gears is an on-line educational resource about what happens when you are getting older. This resource provides information on how getting older impacts on different parts of your body. Then it gives tips on what you can do to adjust to these changes that can happen in your body, your function, your environment and your social circumstances. The resource is intended for the use of carers, family members, health & social care professionals and St. Michael’s House service users. The resource can be used to prompt conversation and learning with people who we are supporting as and when issues arise. Elements from this resource can be used to help set and review My Life Goals, Cosan Goals and be incorporated in Support Plans.
Radio Star! Sandra in our Omni Training Centre had the opportunity to record a Radio Ad with Dublin City FM recently. The ad was focused on staff recruitment and everything Sandra loves about St. Michael’s House. Here’s Sandra recording for her radio debut! You can hear her ad on Dublin City FM until January.
This resource has been developed by a St Michael’s House Multi-Disciplinary Team consisting of the following disciplines: dietician, integrated care nurse, nurses, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, psychologist, social care worker, social worker, doctor and speech & language therapist. Newsletter Kayaking Fun for Everyone Our Sports & Leisure Department recently brought some of our service users from Bunratty Hub and Goatstown out for a day of Kayaking in Dún Laoghaire. A great time was had by all!
National Lámh Day Wednesday, October 18 was National Lámh Day. We celebrated on social media with videos of staff and service users showing off their Lámh skills!
World Mental Health Day St Michael's House celebrated #WorldMentalHealthDay with a 'Cuppa & a Chat'. Our Mental Health & Leisure Centre teams invited people we support to pop along for a cuppa, a chat and to bring something they love to show their friends.

Newsletter Leinster Rugby Partnership
Leinster Rugby chose St Michael’s House as their Charity Partner for November 2023. A powerhouse in the world of rugby, Leinster rugby has a strong tradition of giving back to the community and supporting charitable causes. The partnership with St. Michael’s House aligns perfectly with Leinster Rugby's commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of people throughout the region. Karen Connolly on behalf of Aircoach, also commented, “We are truly honoured to be associated with St Michaels House and are delighted to be the link that joins them with Leinster Rugby. We are confident that St Michaels House will benefit greatly from the exposure that Leinster Rugby can provide them, and we know those attending Leinster Rugby events from the charity will enjoy them thoroughly.”

Newsletter Service Area 2 PIC Meet and Greet Service Area 2 hosted a Person in Charge forum on 6th Dec in Malahide Rugby Club. It was a fabulous way to have an end of year celebration, with the opportunity for staff to present to members of EMT on all the wonderful work they’ve done over the last year.

Newsletter It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
It’s the Christmas Season and there’s fun to be had all over St. Michael’s House! We had our annual Christmas Bowl on December 7, and many of the centres have been celebrating with coffee mornings and Christmas cheer! We even had Santa make an appearance!
