Introducing The Seven Sisters Society

The seven golden threads that featured in all our designs in 2020, our 125th Anniversary year, honoured the seven Sisters of the Community of the Sisters of the Church who embarked on a journey to Australia in 1892 with the aim of establishing schools across Australia. We are forever indebted to those brave Sisters and at the end of the Anniversary year we wanted to continue to honour them in an enduring way. The Sisters were kind, compassionate and generous and they encouraged a culture of giving to help others. In fact their journey to Australia was funded in part by a generous donation from an associate and Marlton House was purchased through a donated inheritance from Sister Bridget. Today, St Michael’s continues to receive support from our community and that support comes in many forms, including those who have chosen to leave a gift in their will. A gift in a will to St Michael’s provides lasting benefits to future generations of students. Those who choose to make a gift in their will or who indicate that they intend to donate to St Michael’s by leaving a gift in their will become members of The Seven Sisters Society. It is our way of both thanking and acknowledging our supporters while honouring the original seven Sisters who came to Australia and reinforces the enduring legacy of the Community of the Sisters of the Church. Members will receive special communications and invitations to school events and to events for Society members. This will enable you to be well informed about the School and to connect with like-minded benefactors.
