We feel it is important to provide care before and after school for the children in school. We have a dedicated team of staff who plan and prepare a wide variety of activities for our children.
Breakfast Club Our Breakfast Club runs everyday from 7:45am until 8:30am. We supply a variety of healthy food options each morning. This club is run by our staff who work hard to make sure our children receive a substantial breakfast to enable them to start the school day.
After School Club Our after school club provides children with a superb opportunity to relax and enjoy each others company at the end of the day. This runs from 3:15pm to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. If you would like your child to participate in either or both of these clubs please contact the school office for costs and details. These clubs prove to be very popular and we have limited spaces.
The school has helped me as a person because when I was struggling to find a good book to read and I didn't know what to get the teachers recommended me a book to read I think this is good that they recommended this to me, be-
cause now if one of my friends want a recommended book I can recommend the book I read.
All of the teachers helped by talking to me if I didn't understand (they would always tell me that it's okay if you get if wrong) but also if I was finding it easy then they would challenge me.
The majority of our children move on to QES, which is opposite our school in Kirkby Lonsdale.
We have good relationships with all of the local Secondary schools. Our children benefit from attending various events and opportunities at QES including sporting activities, author visits, performances, and lots of other events.

Our uniform is very important to us as it gives us a sense of being part of a community. We take great pride in our appearance and our school. The uniform is available online via our school uniform shop. Being Cumbria, we like to be outdoors whatever the weather so we encourage having a good waterproof and warm outdoor clothes for the winter.
Outdoor learning, visitors and visits... Outdoor learning and first hand experiences are essential to our curriculum. At St Mary’s we strive to provide a range of activities both in and outwith of the school. We enjoy and value a superb location with excellent facilities and equipment to support outdoor learning. Typically, we offer a whole range of residential and day visits as well as inviting visitors to support learning.
