Welcome to MAYO 2016!

ARTS FESTIVAL
M AY 2016
This year the MAYO Arts Festival celebrates its fifth birthday – a significant milestone in this highly anticipated cultural event. Not only does the festival honour the life and career of past student and renowned Australian sculptor Daphne Mayo, it highlights the importance and significance of the Arts at St Margaret’s and in the holistic education we offer our students. There could be no better venue than our Arts Centre Foyer to host the wonderful exhibition of three-dimensional works of emerging and established artists; and no better backdrop to enjoy a day of entertainment, browsing through unique artisan market stalls or strolling down the new food laneway with its culturally rich cuisine. For those of you participating in pre-booked or ‘come and try’ workshops, the festival presents the chance to unleash your inner artist and learn something new. MAYO is not only an artistic feast, it is a fun feast that will keep the children happily occupied for hours with rides, sideshow alley and ever-popular games like lob a choc and lucky box. St Margaret’s Music will be centre stage on Circular Drive, adding to the festival atmosphere. MAYO is a wonderful community collaboration between staff, parents, students and our generous sponsors, and we thank everyone involved for their support and hard work in bringing MAYO 2016 to fruition. Now, there is only one thing left to do: Enjoy! Ros Curtis Principal
