New this spring!

Kidcreate at-home art kits with online instruction

AGES 4 – 12 Enjoy these fun Kidcreate projects in your own home! These art kits are so much fun it’s like having your very own private art teacher! The kit contains an easy-to-follow lesson plan, a link to a correlating online instructional video taught by a Kidcreate Studio art teacher, art materials needed to create one fridge-worthy masterpiece and additional suggestions for online learning that relate to the art lesson. Projects are created for elementary-aged kids but can also be used for preschoolers with adult supervision! $17 per kit.

April Art Kits

Orders placed on or before April 11 will be available for pick up Friday, April 16. Orders placed after April 12 will be available for pick up Friday, April 30. Pick up at The Rec Center, 3700 Monterey Drive.

Van Gogh Vase on Canvas:

Vincent van Gogh’s sunny sunflower painting is sure to brighten anyone’s day! We will learn about and be inspired by this famous artist as we paint our own sunflowers on a real canvas board! Slime Time: Let’s create one of our favorite messy times – silly putty slime! Roll up your sleeves and let’s get messy. Clay Owl: Whooo loves art? We

do! With this kit your young artist will get to poke, pound, roll and shape clay into their very adorable clay owl. Clay Fairy House: If you believe in fairies, clap your hands and get creative with this whimsical, colorful art kit! The kids will construct a magical place for their fairy friends to live out of Model Magic clay. Silly Monster on Canvas: Artist

will use paint and foam to create a silly textured monster that will pop out from the canvas! Garden Collage: Great for a Mother’s Day gift or activity! Your child will follow easy step-by-step instructions as they create a mixed media collage with a garden theme on a real canvas board. Clay Unicorn: Let your artist go unicorn crazy! Students will learn a simple step-by-step process to sculpt a darling unicorn. Add some sequins and a little dazzle, and this project is a dream come true for any unicorn enthusiast.

May Art Kits

Glow-in-the-Dark Clay

Rocket Ship: 3-2-1 blast off! This project will ROCK your child’s world long after the lights go off at night. You guessed it; this clay rocket ship will glow in the dark! Newspaper Puppy: Let’s create a silly puppy collage! We will use various types of materials to make our unique puppy dogs. Clay Mosaic: Let’s create a mosaic out of air-dry clay and beads! Clay by itself makes great art, but adding beads or sequins makes it even better. Air-dry clay will be used to create a fun and funky mosaic.

Picasso Portraits: Let’s create

a self-portrait inspired by one of our favorite artists – Pablo Picasso. We will use inspiration from Picasso’s cubist style to create very special portraits. Horsing Around: Is your child crazy about horses? Arabians, thoroughbreds and palominos – do they love them all? With this popular kit, your child will learn simple step-by-step techniques to sculpt a beautiful horse.

AGES 4+ Westwood Hills Nature Center is the perfect venue for any birthday party. Birthday parties include a one-hour outdoor program led by one of our naturalists and another hour in a private party room. Capacity is depending on current COVID-19 guidelines.

6Point Athletes

6Point Athletes is virtual and in-person personal training for driven middle and high school athletes who want to get stronger and be pushed to that next level in their fitness and athletic career. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, each training session will focus on developing one or more of the 6Points (agility, balance, endurance, power, reaction time and speed) to best prepare you for your sport and to keep you strong during the on and off seasons. Sports Conditioning and Strength Training Program

Grades 6 - 8 (2020-2021 School Year) Wolfe Park Building, 3700 Monterey Drive Whether you are in sports or not, this training program will give participants focus on the 6Points noted above. Classes are a mix of discussion on positive mindset, overall health, nutrition, general exercises and specific drills that correlate to a variety of sports. Participants will receive a resistance band they can take home after the completion of the program. Class is held outdoors as weather permits; bring a water bottle to each class. DAY DATEs+TIME

Little Tigers Self Defense

AGES 3 – 5 New Hope Ice Arena, 4949 Louisiana Ave. N., New Hope Master Tom Malone will help your child learn basic self-defense and martial arts skills while developing coordination and flexibility. Basic kicks are taught through a variety of exercises and strikes. *Resident rate applies to participants living in Golden Valley, New Hope or St. Louis Park. DAY DATEs+TIME

Smash Bros. Tournament

AGES 13 – 18 Virtual While you can’t get together in person, join with others virtually for a Smash Bros. tournament on Discord. Once registered, you’ll receive an email with information to join the invite-only tournament.
