ST. LOUISE PARISH SCHOOL
2023 - 2024
A faith-based education for the 21st Century, preparing today's children to be tomorrow's servant leaders.
2023 - 2024
We are truly blessed at St Louise Parish School to have such amazing teachers, supportive parents, and well-mannered students We remain committed to meeting the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of every child who is entrusted into our care We take this responsibility seriously and are always searching for ways to enhance our programming So, we are excited to announce the implementation of a new program at St Louise beginning in September 2025: STREAM (STEM + Religion + the Arts) This cross-curricular and project-based approach to teaching & learning will add another layer to our already rich curriculum, while further strengthening the 4-C's of 21st-century learning for our students: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. These are exciting times at St. Louise!
But the implementation of new programming will not change our core mission of fostering Roman Catholic faith and values. We are, first and foremost, a Catholic school, dedicated to providing our students with a learning environment that reflects the teachings of Jesus Christ, emphasizing the importance of respect, compassion, service, and a commitment to the common good. We aim to not only graduate students who excel academically, but students who are truly servant leaders.
For more than six decades, St. Louise Parish School has served Bellevue and the surrounding communities with distinction. In the years ahead, our goal is simple: to maintain our strong Catholic identity while ensuring that our school is considered the top choice for academic excellence. But we're confident that our new STREAM program will also enhance our reputation as a school that values innovation. Education is changing quickly, and schools must adapt to ensure that students are well-prepared for the realities of our global community. Memorizing one's math facts is important. But being able to use those math facts to solve problems is just as important, if not more. Similarly, researching a particular topic is important. But thinking critically about the information that has been gathered is just as important, if not more. In short, the best schools are those who are able to achieve a balance between knowledge-based instruction and skills-based instruction. And Catholic schools have the added advantage of being able to provide the third leg of the triad of learning: faith-based instruction.
Thank you to our entire community for supporting our efforts to provide such an amazing program for our students. The future is bright for St. Louise Parish School.
John Black Principal

Cross-curricular projects at all grade-levels
At all grade-levels, students will learn about the Design Process (Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create, Improve, Present)
The following stand-alone courses are available to students: robotics, 3D printing, digital art, coding, makerspace.
Each June, two students entering their 8th grade year at St. Louise receive the Noel Lyons Memorial Scholarship. And, one student entering his or her 6th grade year receives the Dave and Darlyne Glaze Memorial Scholarship.
Noel Lyons was a St. Louise student who passed away shortly before his 8th grade graduation. Noel was known as being a friend to everyone, a genuine caring person, and a good student. One of his classmates, Mitch Brotherton ('82), has provided two annual scholarships in Noel's memory for the past 19 years. We are so very appreciative of Mitch's generosity.
The Noel Lyons Scholarship recipients for the 2024-25 school year are Ysa Eala and
Dave and Darlyne Glaze's son Doug ('73) established an annual scholarship in their memory The Glazes were founding members or our parish and former St Louise School parents We are very grateful for Doug's continued support for the past 17 years
This annual scholarship is given to one student entering the 6th grade who best embodies the same Christian values and exemplary Catholicism which were embraced and personified by Dave and Darlyne Glaze The Glaze scholarship recipient for the 2024-25 school year is Fernanda Castillo.

She has contributed to the parish as a faith formation teacher and participated in the building committee. Additionally, Vicki has been a committed weekly volunteer, cutting and laminating materials for teachers and staff. She served as a room parent for the 8th-grade class, helping to organize parties, events, and graduation celebrations, including the dance. For the past nine years, she has actively volunteered in her community. Furthermore, Vicki is former employee of St. Louise School, where she worked as an instructional assistant in Kindergarten and as a recess supervisor.
Meredith is a mother that we see almost every week, helping the school in numerous ways She first started by being involved on Parents’ Club and helped with Charger Gear She also helps Mrs Green in the library every week Last year she stepped up as the Scholastic Book Fair chairperson She has helped Mrs Flaat in the technology lab too She has been a room parent helping organize parties, events, and graduation
Kelly has been a dedicated volunteer, serving on the Parents' Club for many years in various roles including President, President-Elect, Secretary, and Volunteer Coordinator She has also assisted teachers with their enrichment grants for classroom projects In more recent years, Kelly has contributed her time at the front desk alongside Mrs Morgan and Mrs Brown, and she has coached CYO Volleyball She is also a former employee of St Louise School, having worked as the Student Support Teacher
We are thrilled to congratulate our latest graduates and are excited to see them succeed at their chosen high schools as they continue their educational journeys As lifelong Chargers, these students will continue to make great strides in the pursuit of their academic goals and beyond.

The St Louise Annual Fund helps us bridge the difference between the actual cost of educating a student at St Louise, and the tuition we charge We work to keep tuition at a more affordable level to make educating a child at St Louise a reality for families who would not have the ability to pay the actual cost These dollars support curriculum, technology investments, unfunded tuition assistance, student enrichment, teacher salaries and operating costs
Your support of the Annual Fund makes a true difference in the lives of our students
Thanks to your generous donations year after year, the Fr. Phil Wallace Tuition Assistance Fund has grown to more than $2.7 million. Every donation over these past 22 years has made a significant difference in the lives of our students.
Last year, the Fund generated $140,000 in interest income - which was exclusively allocated to need-based scholarships. We observed an increase in the number of people seeking financial aid, with a greater need than ever before.
When you make a gift today, you'll give a child access to a life-changing, Catholic education.
