Fintan Bonner is the Director of Golf at St Leonards. He has overseen the growth and development of the St Leonards Golf Programme raising it to an Academy level speciality of the School which now has six tiers and provides a progressive pathway from grassroots to elite level golfers. Fintan has worked with players competing in Major Championships and helped both his amateur and professional players prepare for events including the US Open, DP World Tour, PGA Tour, Challenge Tour and Korn Ferry Tour.

Golf Programme Highlights ‘A taste of golf at the Home of Golf ’ - each student will have the experience of playing golf on seven different courses, including the world famous Old Course where you can walk in the footsteps of great golfing legends such as Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and Rory McIlory. Our Golf Academy, utilises the latest cutting edge technology and instructional techniques, (incl Trackman, V1 Analysis, Coach Now, Boditrak and SamPuttlab) to provide innovative, personally tailored coaching methods in order to improve performance. The coaching team will provide a detailed analysis of each pupil’s swing so they can understand how and why their swing works and what improvements may be required. Each pupil will have an individual technical pathway that is designed for them by their coach, to bring them closer to their golfing goals.

The famous Old Course in St Andrews
Academic and Boarding Programme All students will experience the teaching and learning style of our holistic education programme with a range of subjects appropriate to their age across the IB curriculum. Lessons and other school clubs and activities will take place each afternoon. The programme includes fully immersive boarding alongside current pupils of over 30 different nationalities in our superb boarding houses within the School campus. Evening activities will include tennis, swimming, beach walks, team games and competitions. There are also weekend trips and excursions to explore Edinburgh and other local attractions.
