On June 25, the inaugural “Ballin’ in the Lou” basketball game was held at St. Louis University High School. St. Louis County Police Officers played basketball against St. Louis Metropolitan Police Officers. This free community event was attended by fans from both St. Louis City and County and provided free food and entertainment to the community.

In August, the Community Outreach Unit participated in several National Night Out Events, which gave citizens and Police Officers an opportunity to come together and enhance community participation. The National Night Out Events included the following subdivisions: Norwood Court, Pasadena Hills, and Sappington Acres Estates. ater in the year, the Community Outreach Unit participated in a speaking engagement at Jennings High School and at STL.works, a Skilled Workforce Mentoring Program at Hazelwood West High School.
