PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
We warmly welcome Ambrose Treacy College to St Joseph’s Nudgee College for Round 4 of the 2026 GPS Football competition. As the season continues, we look forward to another exciting year of GPS Football and know each school brings their skill, teamwork, sportsmanship and proud school spirit to every match throughout the season.
For more than a century, GPS sport and activities have helped build a strong Spirit of Fellowship between our schools. It is always rewarding to see students embracing weekend sport with such enthusiasm and dedication.
The College thanks the many parents, coaches, students, match officials, ancillary staff and support groups whose time and effort make days like this possible. We are also grateful to our season sponsors for their valued support. I acknowledge our outstanding grounds staff for the exceptional care they take in preparing our fields each week, as well as our first aid officers who are present to assist and support players when required.

It is a pleasure to welcome the Ambrose Treacy College community to St Joseph’s Nudgee College for Round 4 of the 2026 GPS Football Season.
This year is a particularly significant one for Nudgee Football as we celebrate 50 years since football was first played at the College. Over that time, the program has grown tremendously - from its early beginnings to the strong, values-driven program we see today. We are proud of how far we have come and of the many players, coaches, and families who have contributed to building the tradition and spirit of Nudgee Football.
At Nudgee, our football program is about more than competition. It is about creating an environment where boys develop a lifelong love for the game while learning the values that sport teaches so well. Through both the highs and the challenges, we hope our players, supported by their coaches, families, and teammates, continue to grow in humility, resilience, and character.
Thank you to our College Leadership Team for their continued support of the Football Program, and to our valued sponsors whose generosity helps provide outstanding opportunities for our players. SPECTATORS
At Nudgee College parents and friends are welcome to spectate for Football. Spectators are to remain in the spectator zones at ALL times. School officials will be identifiable by ID badges and security guards may be present; please ensure their directions are followed. All spectators are reminded that adherence to the GPS Association of Queensland’s Code of Behaviour is an absolute condition of attendance at this event.
PARKING
All vehicles should enter via Gate 1, off Sandgate Road. Please use either Car Park 4 or 5. A map for your reference is available on the last page.
FIRST AID
First Aid is available at the Flats and between Ross and Wilkes Ovals.

TOILETS
Visitor toilets are located at the Flats, next to Mt Sion Courts and under the Duhig Building near Ross and Wilkes Ovals.
CANTEEN FACILITIES
Canteen and hot drink facilities may be available on the Flats and in the Tuck shop next to Wilkes Oval. For Tennis, Bede’s Cafe is open in the swimming pool complex and will have a range of food and drink options.
COACHES LUNCH
Lunch will be provided in Ryan Hall between 10.30am and 1.00pm for Football coaches.
POST-MATCH FUNCTION
A short after-match function for the football community will be held in Ryan Hall within 15 minutes of the end of the 1st XI fixture. All supporters are invited to attend the post-match function at the Ross Rotunda starting at 3.00pm.

• NO SMOKING - St Joseph’s Nudgee College is a non-smoking campus.
• NO PETS - Visitors with pets will be asked to remove them from the campus.

1ST XI COACH
Our Nudgee College Football Program runs all year round, and many of our boys have invested countless hours into both their on-field preparation and strength and conditioning programs. That dedication does not go unnoticed. We know that every session, every early morning, and every extra effort has helped shape them into better footballers and young men. As a result, they enter the season prepared and ready to embrace the challenge of what is always a strong and competitive GPS Competition.
Today’s opponents will be no different. Each week in GPS football presents a new challenge, and success will come from focus, discipline, and a willingness to compete for the full duration of the match. The boys will need to be ready from the first whistle to the last, supporting one another and staying committed to the team’s goals.
We also know the important role our supporters play. The energy from the crowd and the strength of the Nudgee community provide a lift that our players feel on the field. We encourage all supporters to get behind the boys, cheer loudly, and show the passion and pride that make Nudgee Football so special.
Our 1st XI players, like all Nudgee Footballers, will give you effort, commitment, and a genuine desire to compete until the very end, no matter the score. They represent the values of our program every time they take the field, and we are proud of the way they play the game.

FOOTBALL PATRON’S MESSAGE
Welcome to all players and congratulations on making the squads at Nudgee College Football for the 2026 season.
Well done to all those teams that played and all those that won their age group last season. A particular congratulations to the 1st XI team of 2025, in a season which went down to the wire, with three to four schools still capable of winning the competition on the final day.
The GPS competition is getting stronger and stronger every season. I give my best wishes to every boy who puts on a Nudgee College Football shirt this season.
To all our coaches, ground staff and the boys parents and friends attending games this year, let ALL make plenty of noise and get behind ALL Nudgee College teams.
A young Churchie old boy has put his claim forward to the World Cup with the Socceroos in a few months. We’d love to see a Nudgee College boy do this at some point in the future also.
Remember that good players control the ball, but GREAT players control the game. You never know who is watching these games.
