PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
We warmly welcome members of the Toowoomba Grammar School community to St Joseph’s Nudgee College for Round 8 of the 2025 GPS Football competition. As a College, we are looking forward to an exciting season of GPS Football and I hope that each school brings their exceptional skills, teamwork, positive sportsmanship and deeply ingrained school spirit to the table, each weekend.
As we come to the tail end of the season, it has been fantastic to see that the teamwork, sportsmanship, exceptional skill and deeply ingrained school spirit remains effervescent.
Finally, I am grateful for the significant efforts of all parents, coaches, students, match officials, ancillary staff and support groups, who have worked together to make such a big day happen. Thank you to our highly-skilled and tireless ground staff who have done an incredible job in preparing and maintaining our fields each week. I also thank the first aid officers who have ensured our players are well supported and cared for on game day.
I hope you have a safe, enjoyable and rewarding day at St Joseph’s Nudgee College and that our final home round concludes successfully.

Dear Toowoomba Grammar School community,

At Nudgee, our Sport program is about more than just competition – it’s about creating an environment where boys develop a lifelong love for the game. We hope that through the highs and lows of sport, our players, through the continued support of their coaches, families and peers, continue to grow in humility, resilience, and character.

SPECTATORS
MATCH DAY
At Nudgee College parents and friends are welcome to spectate for Football. Spectators are to remain in the spectator zones at ALL times. School officials will be identifiable by ID badges and security guards may be present; please ensure their directions are followed. All spectators are reminded that adherence to the GPS Association of Queensland’s Code of Behaviour is an absolute condition of attendance at this event.
PARKING
All vehicles should enter via Gate 1, off Sandgate Road. Please use either Car Park 4 or 5. A map for your reference is available on the last page.
FIRST AID
First Aid is available at the Flats and between Ross and Wilkes ovals.

TOILETS
Visitor toilets are located at the Flats, next to Mt Sion Courts and under the Duhig Building near Ross and Wilkes ovals.
CANTEEN FACILITIES
Canteen and hot drink facilities may be available on the Flats and in the Tuck shop next to Wilkes Oval. For Tennis, Bede’s Cafe is open in the swimming pool complex and will have a range of food and drink options.
COACHES LUNCH
Lunch will be provided in Ryan Hall between 10.30am and 1.00pm for Football coaches.
POST-MATCH FUNCTION
A short after-match function for the football community will be held in Ryan Hall within 15 minutes of the end of the 1st XI fixture. All supporters are invited to attend the post-match function at the Ross Rotunda starting at 3.00pm.
COLLEGE POLICY
• NO ALCOHOL is to be carried or consumed at this event.
• NO SMOKING - St Joseph’s Nudgee College is a non-smoking campus.
• NO PETS - Visitors with pets will be asked to remove them from the campus.

As we stand at the brink of another exciting GPS season, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride for what we have achieved over the past five years at the school.
During the past two to three years, we have seen a consistent, unrivalled standard of excellence in our prestigious competition, and each year becomes even tougher.
On behalf of the team, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our school and our parents for their unwavering support. Your belief in our potential has not only prepared us for the challenges ahead but has also bonded us closer as a community in the true Nudgee Spirit.
I would like to thank the continued efforts of the following people for their support in making the environment and experiences that the boys have encountered thus far, supportive and challenging, where all the needs of the players are met to give them the best opportunity to thrive and excel, Mr Dan Tinsey, Mr Sam Dickinson, Ms Ellen Pearce, Mr Samuel Bartolo, Mr Cameron Foulkes, Mr Luke Condon, Mr Jamie Pybus, Principal Mr Scott Thomson, and also to all parents of our Nudgee boys!

After just missing out last season, the squad of the 1st XI will be out to get that 1st XI trophy back. Best wishes to all the boys who are taking part in the 2025 season.
My thoughts are always train the way you are going to play, every game. From the first whistle from the referee to start the game, to when the whistle blows for full time. Concentrate for the entire game. Remember that 80% of goals scored in every game are within the first 5 minutes and last 5 minutes of each half.

I’m absolutely thrilled to be here! From the moment I stepped onto the Nudgee grounds, I was struck by the exceptional standards and unwavering dedication that define the Football Program. It’s truly an honor to be part of something so special.
The coaching staff is phenomenal, consistently delivering engaging and detailed sessions for every player, regardless of age or skill level. Their commitment to fostering positive attitudes and nurturing growth is clear, and it shines on Saturdays when the boys showcase their talent. Wins, draws, or even the occasional loss – it’s all about enjoying the game, developing as individuals and teams, and learning from every experience.
And let’s talk about the fields! They’re simply the best school fields I have seen, not just in Australia, but even compared to back home in the UK. Huge credit to the incredible Facilities team for their tireless work.
