2025 ST JOSEPH’S NUDGEE COLLEGE GIVING REPORT

At St Joseph’s Nudgee College giving is at the heart of who we are.

It is an expression of faith in action, an acknowledgment that we are called to support one another, to nurture potential, and to create opportunities for every student to flourish. Our community’s generosity, through the Foundation and countless other avenues, ensures that the values we hold dear such as service, compassion, and integrity, are lived out each day.

When families, Old Boys, staff, and friends contribute their time, expertise, or resources, they are not simply providing financial support, they are investing in the formation of young men who will carry the Nudgee Spirit into the world. Every bursary, building project, or program made possible through giving is a tangible reflection of our shared faith and commitment to one another.

Looking ahead to 2026, we are embarking on Phase One of an exciting development to enhance the Flats facility. This includes state-of-the-art change rooms, a first aid room, modern amenities, improved water accessibility, and into the near future, a versatile space for meetings, food service, and community connection.

This project will transform the way our students live, learn, and gather, and it relies on the generosity and vision of our Nudgee College community. By coming together, we can ensure this facility reflects the excellence and care that defines our College and provides a lasting legacy for generations to come.

We sincerely thank every member of our community whether you have contributed financially, shared your expertise, or given your time through the many channels of giving at Nudgee College in 2025.

I am continually inspired by the way our community comes together, motivated not by recognition but by a desire to see our students grow in knowledge, character, and faith. Your support makes this vision a reality and strengthens the future of Nudgee College.

Thank you.

Mr Scott Thomson, St Joseph’s Nudgee College Principal

I still have those moments, usually around 6.15am as I drive through the gates, where I look around and think, “How lucky are we?” The school waking up for the day always feels like a little snapshot of everything Nudgee offers. Knowing my son gets to learn and grow here, and that I get to cheer him on along the way, is something I’m endlessly grateful for. My goal has never been to raise a perfect human, but rather a well-adjusted, empathetic boy, eventually a man, who embraces every opportunity and always gives his best. With the support of the College, I have no doubt that we are well on our way.

Nudgee College has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a student here during the early days of the Foundation’s creation, I saw first-hand what happens when a community decides to build something enduring together. The parents and staff who established the Nudgee College Foundation back in 1984 and 1985 weren’t just raising funds; they were laying the foundations for opportunity, ensuring that every boy, regardless of his background, could share in the Nudgee experience.

That spirit of giving has stayed with me ever since. As both an Old Boy and a past parent, I’ve witnessed how deeply Nudgee College shapes young men, not only through education, but through the values of compassion, service, and brotherhood that define who we are. Serving as Chair of the Foundation is, for me, a way to give back to the school that gave so much to

my family and to generations of Nudgee boys. In keeping with this vision, I am thrilled to announce that the Foundation has committed a $500,000 donation to initiate an exciting new project to re-imagine the entire Flats precinct, with more details to be revealed later in 2026.

Our giving is not about grand gestures; it’s about continuing a legacy of care and faith in the future. Every bursary granted, every building improved, every initiative supported is a reflection of that shared belief that when the Nudgee community comes together, we create something truly lasting. That’s the Nudgee Spirit, and it’s a privilege to be part of it.

Mr Luke Ingham-Myers (NCOB 1988), Chair of the Nudgee College Foundation Board

Nudgee College is a meaningful place to consider when you are thinking about the legacy you want to leave. As I move into the later stages of my life, I find myself reflecting on what truly endures. We cannot take anything with us, so it makes sense to direct whatever we can towards something that will continue to strengthen young lives. Leaving a gift to Nudgee is a way to ensure that what you have built carries forward with purpose and impact. More happiness comes from giving than from taking.Generosity of spirit represents who we are as a Nudgee community and reflects the values that define us.
