Welcome to the Term 3 learning for Physical Education.

Junior Primary students will be engaging in Rolling and Controlling Skills, Gymnastics and Dance. Primary students will be engaging in Games & Sports and Athletics.

Receptions Strand: Movement and Physical Activity.

Sub-Strand: Moving our body; Making active choices; Learning through movement.

Topics: Fundamental Movement Skills (Locomotor Skills), Rolling and Controlling Skills (Manipulative Skills), Gymnastics, Dance, Active Play.

Year 1 Strand: Movement and Physical Activity.

Sub-Strand: Moving our body; Making active choices; Learning through movement.

Topics: Fundamental Movement Skills (Locomotor Skills), Rolling and Controlling Skills (Manipulative Skills), Gymnastics, Dance, Participation in functional activities, Identifying and discussing where they can be active and how the body reacts to being physically active.

The Goal of Languages at St Joseph’s Payneham

In Italian at St Joseph’s Payneham, students communicate and make meaning in the language being learnt; they reflect on the interrelationship between language, culture, learning and identity and thereby develop their intercultural capability.

Through a variety of oral language, singing, games and hands on activities, students continue to share, connect with and reflect on what they already know, do and understand about Italian language and culture.

• Students respond to greetings, phrases and simple instructions in Italian

• Students explore, notice and mimic the sounds of the Italian language through songs and stories with a focus on the sounds of the alphabet, including the five vowels.

• Students develop their mathematical understanding of numerals, shapes, and patterns.

• Students engage in play and imaginative activities to interact with each other in Italian.

• They engage in play and imaginative experiences to share information, such as likes and dislikes, and to interact with each other in Italian.
