Q. What are the most rewarding aspects of being a nurse at Saint James Hospital?

A. As a scrub nurse we not only help the surgeon by providing him with the necessary tools, but we make an impact on the whole team. It is a unique and challenging job and that is the best motivator for me!

Q. How do you manage stress and maintain work-life balance in such a demanding profession?

A. I somehow manage to find a balance between work and outside activities! I have two kids, so I dedicate time for them, and I love going for walks near the sea! Apart from this I need to start doing yoga!

Q. What qualities or skills do you believe are essential for a nurse to excel in their role?

A. A lot! Firstly they must be extremely well organised, coupled with good observation skills, be a team player, have physical and mental strength (due to being on your feet most of the time). Most of all it is crucial to stay up to date with your professional skills.
