FAREWELL TO FACULTY

The ending of a school year is always bittersweet but saying goodbye to long-time teachers is especially difficult. This year is no different.

After 29 years of teaching at Saint Henry School, “Happy Retirement” is wished to one of the best, Ms. Sandi Elder. Ms. Elder has been a familiar face at Tiger Town for many years. Ms. Elder followed in her mother’s footsteps to become a well-known and well-loved teacher. Ms. Elder plans to retire near her grandchildren and enjoy many adventures with them.

Mr. Jeff Schletzer retires after 41 years of teaching band at Father Ryan High School, Saint Henry School, and many other schools throughout the diocese. Mr. Schletzer leaves a permanent mark on the lives of many students to whom he instilled a love for music. He looks forward to time with his grandchildren and traveling with his wife, Sheree, when she retires from being a nurse.

Mrs. Suzanne Armbruster is retiring after 14 years at Saint Henry School. Mrs. Armbruster was instrumental in starting the Pre-K program. She came with experience and knowledge that helped the new program be as successful as it could be. Mrs. Armbruster will still be seen around Tiger Town as a substitute teacher when needed in the Pre-K when she is not spending time with her new grand-baby.

Mrs. Kathy McDonnell has been an aide in our Pre-K classrooms for six years. Her patience and kindness shown to all will be missed, but we are thankful that she has agreed to come back often as a substitute teacher.

Mrs. Elizabeth Allred has taught 1st grade for four years. She was an integral part of her 1st grade team. She leaves to be able to take care of her baby boy, who will hopefully be a Tiger someday just like she was!
