Your Legacy, Their Future

A Message from the Head
At St Helen’s, we believe in girls, and in the transformative power of girls’ education We are committed not only to academic excellence but also to nurturing the character, creativity, and compassion of every student. For generations, our community of students, staff, and families has built a vibrant and enduring legacy, rooted in curiosity, ambition, and a love of learning
While we maintain the traditions and values of our community, we also embrace our responsibility to drive the School forward We strive to offer a modern, creative, and intellectually stimulating curriculum that equips our girls to contribute fully to their communities and to thrive in an interconnected, digital, and global society We are inspired by the opportunities ahead and the potential to make an even greater impact.
One of the most meaningful ways you can help ensure that St Helen’s continues to flourish is by considering leaving a gift to the School in your Will. Your support can be unrestricted or directed towards bursary provision, enhancing our facilities, or enriching programmes that empower our girls to reach their full potential.
Leaving a legacy gift is a profoundly personal way to make a lasting difference. It ensures that the values and experiences that have shaped your life, and the lives of countless students, will continue to flourish. Every gift, no matter the size, is a testament to the enduring spirit of the St Helen’s community.
On behalf of everyone at St Helen’s, I thank you for your support and your commitment to the future generations of Girls in Green.
Warm regards,
Bridget Ward
Your Legacy, Their Future
Leaving a legacy to St Helen’s is one of the most significant ways of leaving a lasting imprint on the School. It costs you nothing in your lifetime but provides future generations with the impact of your support.
The collective impact of legacies makes a huge difference to St Helen’s. It’s easy to pledge a legacy and, as a registered charity, all bequests to us from UK taxpayers are free of inheritance tax and can also help to reduce the overall tax liability on your estate.
Types of Legacies
There are many ways to support St Helen’s School in your Will:
A pecuniary bequest – an exact sum of money or a percentage of your estate
A residuary bequest – the balance of your estate when all of your other wishes have been taken into account
A specific bequest – you can leave particular assets to the School: stocks and shares, antiques, works of art, or other valuables
A reversionary bequest – a gift which will pass to the School after another named recipient has enjoyed the income during their lifetime
A conditional bequest – a gift which will pass to the School if none of your named beneficiaries survives you

Practicalities
If you would like to remember us in your Will, we recommend that you consult a solicitor who can advise you about all the issues you should consider and ensure that any new Will or codicil has the effect you intend.
If you are considering making a bequest to the School, the beneficiary should be ‘St Helen’s School (Registered Charity No. 312762)’.
Unrestricted legacy gifts are always helpful, as they enable the School to direct gifts towards the area of greatest need at the time of donation. If you would prefer to make a directed gift for a specific purpose, please contact Lucy Marshall, Director of Development (lucy.marshall@sthelens.london), who will discuss the options available to you and advise how you might most effectively support your preferred cause.
The Rowland Brown Club
We want to thank you for leaving a gift in your Will to St Helen’s and if you notify us of your pledge, we will be pleased to welcome you to the Rowland Brown Club through which you can enjoy the benefits of your generosity during your lifetime.
Members of the Club will receive invitations to special events and their names are published, unless otherwise requested, on the "Support Us" page of our website and in other relevant materials.
Thank you

Thank you for considering making a legacy gift to the School. Your gift will go a long way towards supporting the next generation of Girls in Green.
