The Real Hey Diddle Diddle The rhyme hey diddle diddle is a great story and many kids love it but not many people know the real story of what happened. Tom was getting ready for his concert which he was going to play the fiddle in. It was starting in 2 hours. As Tom was a cat people from all over the world came to see him. He decided to take a nice stroll in the fields to get rid of all his nerves. He glared up at the full moon. He heard something moving behind him, so he quickly turned around to find Dotty the cow pulling a springboard. “What are you doing?” asked Tom curiously. “I'm planning to jump over the MOOOOOOOON!”. Said Dotty “Really?” Said Tom “Yep” Said Dotty. Tom asked Dotty if he could go with her but of course he couldn’t who ever heard of a cat that jumped over the moon? Dotty prepared her springboard (which she was lucky not to break). She took a big run up but completely missed the springboard and she ran straight into a fence. Her second attempt was not much better because all she did was fly up and up like a rocket and then she zoomed back down to earth like a black and white comet. Meanwhile on the other side of the hill, Dish and Spoon were having a wonderful date out in the night sky. They each had two strands of spaghetti which was a feast for a dish and spoon. Gradually a crowd of people started gathering around them, but they were not looking at them they were looking at the moon as if something amazing was going to happen. You might not know this but cutlery are actually very claustrophobic. So, Dish and Spoon felt very uncomfortable they decided to move away. On the other side of the hill dotty was preparing for her big show she had told some friends, so they told some friends and so on but now she was feeling rather nervous. What if she crashed into the moon and had a minor concussion and fell to her doom? But that wouldn’t happen. Right? Tom decided to comfort her because he was her friend. “You will be fine” said Tom “what if I crash into the moon?” Dotty said worried “You won't crash let's do it now or never” Said Tom
“Alright” said Dotty with more faith in herself. She prepared herself, focused herself on the springboard and ran at it with all her might she took a big leap and sprung like a rocket up and up and up she flew over the moon with great speed. “Yippee!” she cried Then she landed back on Earth with a loud thump. In the audience a little dog named Jack was laughing so much Dish and Spoon told him to be quiet, but he just snarled, and Dish and Spoon got so scared they hurried away back home together.
