Using ST Sexed Semen with confidence... After using sexed semen in a very successful Fixed Time AI Program last year Anthony Grey has this year increased his usage of Sexed Ultra 4M semen on his milking herd. “We are using more Sexed Ultra 4M semen this year as we have confidence in the product on milking cows and it allows us to have an additional source of income with the additional heifer calves we are getting. We have calculated that from last years program the 100 doses used on milking cows a conception rate of 58% was received. Additionally to this we have used Sexed Ultra 4M semen on our maiden heifers, we used to use Jersey bulls and honestly we have no more trouble with Sexed Semen than the Jersey bull calves.� Anthony Grey, Smithton

There is no more enjoyment than getting a heifer calf out of your best cows. Peter Price is among many of the Australian farmers that now use Sexed Ultra 4M Semen on their milking herd to achieve this. I have used several bulls from the STGenetics catalogue over the past few years, in particular the POPEYE bull, he has had high use in my herd due to his AAA code is 561 which meets my breeding goals. There is nothing more rewarding than getting heifer calves out of your better cows so all my better cows get a chance with sexed semen. I find it working really well and have recently calculated that my conventional conception rate for Popeye was around 66% and the sexed Popeye was exactly the same rate at 66%. Peter Price, Leongatha

Meeting the market with Sexed Semen At DLS we have not experienced greater demand and stronger prices for Export Holstein heifers along with this, the Domestic demand for all types of Dairy females has strengthened greatly. With the availability of ‘4M’ Sexed Ultra Semen the conception these days is outstanding, hence giving all Dairy Farmers a wonderful opportunity to breed more heifers and take part in the lucrative market and at the same time able to ‘go hard’ when it comes to in herd selection. If you’re not in the Holstein Breed it still makes sense to use ‘4M’ sexed having more heifers to select from and others to sell. We have used STGenetics product ever since it was available in Australia in our herd. We use the ST product as we have trust and belief in the breeding advice we have been given by the STGenetics Australia Breeding Advisors. Here at Fountaindale Farms our Jersey Herds breeding goal main focus has always been for production to meet the paying structure 32 for our milk company Norco. We continue to use the STGenetics Sexed Ultra 4M product on the milking herd with confidence after the results we have had over the years we have used sexed semen.
