The 2024–2025 fiscal year was one of connection and growth for the Stewart Center. Our children’s education, housing, and wellness programs became more fully integrated, helping us better reflect and serve the Pittsburg community in southwest Atlanta. This year we hired a Director of Community Development, assumed the backbone role of the Gideons Housing Task Force, and provided administrative support to the Pittsburgh Neighborhood Association.
We also strengthened our commitment to affordable housing by launching predevelopment for twenty-three new units near Gideons Elementary School. While tangible assets like stable housing, strong schools, and safe, supportive environments are critical to a family’s success, they are not enough on their own.
The Stewart Center builds on the resilience, creativity, and hope of our neighbors. Our work extends beyond providing programs to helping families build their confidence, knowledge, and relationships. Whether it’s a parent gaining financial skills, a student discovering leadership potential, or a resident joining a neighborhood initiative, we’re focused on cultivating the capacities that sustain progress over time.
This approach positions the Stewart Center as both a provider of tangible support and a catalyst for community-led growth. It’s what connects a child’s learning to a family’s stability, and a family’s wellbeing to a thriving neighborhood.
I’m deeply grateful to our staff, neighbors, board, partners, and donors who make this work possible. Together, we are not just serving our community, we are creating a shared future.
With gratitude and hope,
Clayton E. Davis Executive Director

Events
In addition to supporting community-led initiatives, this year, we hosted our 4th Annual Holiday Pop-Up Shop and our 3rd Annual Community Resource and Housing Fair engaging over 150 families.
Wellness Groups
Groups strengthen the neighborhood by creating safe spaces where families connect, share experiences, and support one another. This year we offered two wellness series: Yoga & Meditation and Fitness Bootcamp.
Rent Assistance & Support
This year, we distributed $22,172 in rental assistance and support, keeping 12 families in their homes and their lives on track.
AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Housing is considered “affordable” for households earning up to 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI), but the families we serve average just 43% of AMI. This gap highlights the critical need for the Stewart Center’s work to create stability and opportunity for families with limited income options.

AHEAD...
For many students, Stewart Center tutorial provides the support they need to be successful. However, our best efforts have not been enough for those who face the biggest challenges Next year, that changes.
We will launch one-on-one tutoring as a cornerstone of the after-school program. It will be mission driven, individualized support that unlocks students’ potential, increases academic achievement, and creates a love for learning.
Yes, it will cost more. Yes, it will require flexibility and intentional coordination with tutors and families. And yes, it is absolutely worth it!
The 23 housing units currently in predevelopment represent a $6 million commitment to creating and preserving affordable housing in the Pittsburgh neighborhood over the next couple of years.
In partnership with Housing Plus Inc, we will welcome our first cohort of the Financial Achievement Club (FAC), a sixmonth program that empowers individuals to build lasting financial stability through handson workshops, expert guidance, and matched savings. From budgeting and credit to taxes and estate planning, FAC will provide the tools to turn financial goals into real progress.
