Kenworth, Fastport, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes initiative have announced four finalists for the 2025 Transition
Trucking: Driving for Excellence Award and Stevens Transport is proud to announce Mark Scriven is a 2025 Finalist!
Mark is a Savannah, Georgia native and U.S. Army Veteran. He served nine years as a Patriot Operator/Maintainer, earning four Army Achievement Medals and a Combat Lifesaver Certificate. Rising to Staff Sergeant, he mentored soldiers with a focus on readiness and integrity. After the military, Mark brought his leadership to Stevens Transport as a professional truck driver and trainer. A devoted husband and father of three, he continues to live by the values of service, discipline, and dedication in every chapter of his life.
The finalists were announced at the Kenworth truck manufacturing plant in Chillicothe, Ohio, following a reception

held the previous day at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum in Columbus where the 12 semi-finalists were distinguished guests. After the announcement, Mark shared, “To be in the final four with this caliber of competitors is a true blessing,” jokingly adding it may be easiest to have four trucks ready. Stevens is thankful for his service to our country and company. We look forward to highlighting him over the coming weeks and are incredibly proud of him and his accomplishments.
The grand prize winner will drive away in a state-of-the-art Kenworth T680 truck, and the program also ensures every finalist is recognized and will receive monetary awards.
The Transition Trucking contest continues to serve as a beacon for veteran drivers, showcasing the incredible opportunities available within the trucking industry. Public voting for the award will be held from November 1st through the 11th, Veterans Day. The final winner will be revealed on December 12th during a special event at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C.
Stevens Transport has been honored with the 2025 General Mills On Time In Full (OTIF) Temperature Carrier of the Year award for the third consecutive year. The award recognizes exceptional performance in delivering time-sensitive, temperature-controlled freight with consistent reliability, accuracy, and service. This achievement highlights Stevens’ ability to meet General Mills’ high standards of delivery while ensuring product integrity from start to finish. It also reflects the dedication and expertise of Stevens' drivers, Operations team, and support staff who work tirelessly to uphold high-performance benchmarks.
Stevens Transport takes immense pride in its long-standing partnership with General Mills, that began in 1992. For 33 years we have delivered superior service, and as a result, Stevens Transport has been honored with numerous awards, including the General Mills Temperature Controlled Carrier of the Year (2006, 2007, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2020) and the prestigious OTIF award in 2019 (inaugural recipient), 2023, 2024, and now 2025.

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week - What an unforgettable week at Stevens Transport celebrating our incredible drivers! From delicious meals and fun contests to the Truck Rodeo and the Ultimate Chili Cook-Off, every event was a true show of gratitude and appreciation. The Hot Freight & Chili Plates (Contractor Division) took home the chili crown and over twenty teams from various departments brought the flavor and fun! Drivers on and off the yard enjoyed amazing prizes thanks to the support of fantastic vendor partners whose generosity made daily raffles possible. Driver Recruiting took the grand prize in the door decorating contest making it their THREE-peat year and a special Roadside Radio NTDAW episode hosted by Tim Cicarelli, highlight Stevens Transport’s 45-year family legacy and the drivers who keep America moving. Delicious lunches and treats were enjoyed, fun games were played, and a great time was had by all! We’re proud to honor our drivers not just this week, but every day!

Meet Cheryl Wilson! Cheryl is an Independent Contractor, Driver Trainer, and has been with Stevens Transport since June 2020. Cheryl is Diné and after many years living in KS, has recently moved back on the Navajo Nation.
After earning her CDL from Roadmaster Drivers School in Missouri, and carefully researching multiple companies, Cheryl chose Stevens Transport. She was drawn to Stevens for its diverse driver community, strong compensation program, and opportunities for growth. Cheryl became an Independent Contractor and a Driver Trainer in the same week, and both have brought her great fulfillment. She finds satisfaction in helping her trainees grow, especially the 46 female drivers she has mentored and values the opportunity to give back and support others on their journey.
Cheryl believes Stevens has given her room to grow both personally and professionally. Her advice to new drivers: “If you want something, you’re going to have to work hard for it. If it’s meant for you, it will happen.” Acknowledging hard work is required, she is quick to remind that with adjustment, being a professional driver can become a “paid-cation”, her favorite phrase for having the opportunity to earn well and experience the beauty of the country.
Cheryl attributes her success to her life experiences, background, and strong work ethic, and says overall, she simply enjoys each day as a driver and remains dedicated to doing it well.

Cargo theft continues to be a growing threat for businesses, insurers and supply chains. CargoNet reported that more than $63 million in goods were stolen in the first quarter of 2025 alone, with an additional $7.5 million lost over the Fourth of July holiday. The average stolen load now exceeds $200,000.
The top target for thieves isn’t high-end electronics, but food and beverages. These goods are easy to steal, difficult to trace and always in demand. There’s also a connection with inflation, as thieves will target certain commodities that are impacted by inflation, with food and beverage being one of those.
Strategic theft methods, often involving cybercrime using fictitious pickups, double-broker scams and identity theft, have grown from about 5% to 40% of all incidents in just a few years, according to CargoNet data. Criminals use tactics like phishing emails to steal load board credentials, enabling them to book and steal legitimate shipments before detection.
Beyond the direct financial hit, theft can damage customer relationships, increase insurance costs and premiums, strain internal resources and harm a company’s reputation. A layered security strategy and employee education are critical.
A bipartisan push is underway in Congress to crack down on organized retail and cargo theft. The “Combating Organized Retail Crime Act of 2025 (CORCA),” has been reintroduced, targeting the networks behind large-scale theft. The bill would coordinate law enforcement action and investigations.
Companies should develop specific security protocols, combine driver best practices with physical security measures, integrated technology, and multi-factor identification tactics.

Serena and her husband, William, enjoy Chiefs football, lake activities, travel, and time with their five children. She is also an avid tennis player and enjoys cooking and hosting family gatherings.
Please join us in welcoming Serena! We look forward to the leadership and strategic insight she will bring to our organization.

Fradestin

Dinel Fradestin recently completed his first lease with the Stevens Transport Contractor Division! Earning his CDL through Tampa Truck Driving School, Dinel joined the company in January 2024. Originally from Haiti and now living in Florida, Dinel says Stevens gave him the opportunity to change his life. Completing his first lease is very meaningful to Dinel and his family. This accomplishment brings great pride to everyone, especially his children and his uncle.
Dinel is also a Driver Trainer and teaches that success and financial stability come with following the process and staying consistent. He believes patience is essential as a driver and a trainer, and seeing his former trainees succeed brings him a strong sense of fulfillment. He credits his success to hard work, patience, and strives to learn and be better each day.
Please join us in congratulating U.S. Navy Veteran Rendell Thompson on completing his first lease with Stevens Transport! Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Rendell began his career with Stevens in March 2023 after earning his CDL from MTC Midwestern Trucking School in Saint Louis. Completing his first least with the Contractor Division has been especially meaningful to his family, who have seen firsthand the dedication and challenges Rendell has overcome to reach this point. His next goal is to own his own truck and become an Owner-Operator.
Rendell has embraced the lifestyle of a professional driver well and enjoys cooking, trying new recipes, and incorporating wellness practices into his daily routine. His advice to new drivers is to not come with expectations and instead enjoy the journey. He believes success comes from efficiency and attention to detail and approaches each day as another opportunity to chase greatness. For Rendell, driving brings him peace. He credits his trainers, children, and girlfriend as his biggest inspirations.
Stevens Transport is proud to have 801 drivers in the Million Mile Club. These drivers are in the top 10% of all drivers, all across the industry, and we are honored to have them as members of our driving force. The level of dedication and attention to safety that goes into the million miles these

drivers have run is unmatched. Joining the million mile club is one of the highest achievements that a driver can earn. We are very thankful to have these incredible individuals as members of the Stevens Transport fleet, and we can’t thank them enough for all that they have done.
Please join us in congratulating Jerry Arthur Williams, marking 2 Million Safe Miles with Stevens Transport! This incredible accomplishment reflects his expertise and dedication to safety on the road. Jerry is from Houston, Texas, and spent over 17 years in law enforcement, bringing with him a strong sense of discipline and a commitment to public service. He first began his journey with Stevens in October 2022 after earning his CDL with Houston Community College. He was drawn to trucking for the same reason he chose law enforcement, the challenge, and has found fulfillment in meeting that challenge head-on! While the career change process was at times overwhelming, Jerry found it deeply rewarding once completed. For Jerry, the best part of working at Stevens is the reliable support system and has learned that even when the road gets tough, he can roll with it and keep moving forward. He credits his success to the support of his fleet managers, planners, safety team, and road rescue staff who have helped make the days smoother and more efficient. His advice to new drivers is to follow your heart, ask questions, and never be afraid to seek help. You’re never too old to learn something new! When he's off the road, Jerry enjoys spending time with family and friends and catching up on outdoor projects.

Stevens Transport is proud to recognize U.S. Navy Veteran, Gregory Cason, for reaching the incredible milestone of TWO million miles with Stevens Transport! Based in Houston, Texas, Gregory began his journey in September 2015 after earning his CDL from Lonestar College. Reaching two million miles is an achievement Gregory describes as “outstanding” and credits the team at Stevens for helping him reach this milestone, sharing that their constant support played a key role in his success. “There was always someone who knew what to do and how to do it,” he shared. His advice to new drivers: don’t try to go it alone. There’s a strong support system at Stevens and if you don’t know something, just ask. For Gregory, the best part about Stevens, beyond the earnings, is the opportunities available. He values that he's always learning, noting that every week brings new lessons and growth. Outside of trucking, Gregory enjoys astronomy and spending time reading.
Congratulations to Independent Contractor David Adamson, for his induction into the Stevens Transport Haul of Fame and his great achievement of ONE million safe miles! After serving 10years with the United States Marine Corps, David earned his CDL from Tennessee Truck Driving School and joined Stevens Transport in 2018. Known for his strong sense of professionalism and discipline, it was natural progression that after completing his training at Stevens, he was inspired to become a Trainer himself and further ensure new drivers would receive the same high-quality instruction and support that helped launch his career. Reaching the one million-mile milestone has been a deeply meaningful accomplishment for David and describes the moment he received the news as “unbelievable,”. David shared that it made him incredibly proud of how far he has come. When he’s off the road, David enjoys camping and spending quality time with his grandchildren. We thank David for his service to our country and for his continued dedication to excellence in training and leadership.
