PRESIDENT’S REPORT I look forward to fulfilling my duties as the President of the State league this coming year. At the July meeting, the appointed positions should all be filled. In the past year, we have seen great progress on our web site and social media pages, plenty of local and state association meetings with great turnout, and great strides towards protecting our work from being done by unlicensed professionals. Our lobbyist, Sam Weinstein, along with the PPAG, Steve Rodzinak and Thomas Pitcherello are diligently working to address concerns with our legislation regarding the water heater bill, mandating time windows for inspections (item no. 5130), and to establish an approved SLMP apprenticeship program. To help combat unlicensed contractors, please create a record and report the grievance to the Division of Consumer Affairs (DCA) as well as to the State League along with any available supporting photos/documentation. We will work diligently to to get complaints filed for our members. Of course a reminder to check out updates on local & state associations and events on NJSLMP.com. We had 169 clicks on the web and 3.61K impressions in past month.We are also on Facebook & Instagram @ njslmp and have been working with our webmaster to update info on all fronts. If you would like to have us include/update any information be sure to reach out to me & I will be sure corrections are made. Please continue to try to utilize our sponsors with their technical support and knowledge of the industry. I have graciously accepted and in some instances depended on our vendors and sponsors for their services and input. This helps grow familiarity with the products along with the laws & regulations of our field. As always, I am available anytime with assistance pertaining to our services, the league membership, or continuing education requirements along with information on other free courses offered to members & employees. We will restart those courses held at the CPR facility back up on the third Thursday of the month from September to May (with the exception of November.)
