Steve Pargman & Ralph Skidmore (MYX) create one-of-a-kind gallery works that begin with either Steve’s photographs or AI-generated reference images, are refined with AI-guided composition, and are finished by hand as layered mixed media. The guiding principle is balance— AI and hand work; photo-real detail and painterly/abstract areas; warm and cool color; hard and soft edges; depth and flat graphic shapes; order and chance. We adjust proportions, value, rhythm, and negative space until the subject leads and the clutter drops away. Surfaces are built deliberately—printed bases, translucent papers, selective glazes, and natural elements integrated—so the material finish carries the same weight as the image. The result is contemporary, made for real rooms and galleries—often dog-centered—bold at a distance, nuanced up close, and built to endure.
